This act is by far one of the best archon quests in the entire game. The story was so peak. I really love the scene within the oratrice and you can hear the slowed version of the Fontaine main theme. It was so good.

Yeah this archon quest is truly amazing and the game continues to just get better and better which is a great sign for Natlan! This has been an incredible journey and yet it feels like we are just getting into the thick of it all lol

The effect fontain had on you with Childe and your evolution from friends to enemies to frenemies warms Suppi’s heart.
The strongest hydro tag team Nuvi and Childe.
Poor furina. Seeing her so seated on the throne when everybody turned against her when her only job was to keep everybody on her side as her task is heartbreaking.
I love how everything we did in Fontain comes together as evidence for the final act. Nicely tight.

Yeah thinking about what Furina has been through and the fact that she couldn't tell anyone so she was completely alone through it all is just devastating!

HAHAHAHAHA!!!! I knew you'd change your tune about Childe, even for a little bit hehe. When it comes to fav cut scenes in the game, Childe vs The Whale makes it on that list now. And I think it's time to mention that Childe's constellation IS a whale. So that's definitely foreshadowing if you ask me. The devs definitely knew ahead of time.
Okay now is a good time to mention this too. Hey KB, you remember that one voice you heard in Neuvillette's story question? About how he would learn a lot in the human world? That would be Focalors and yes, she and Furina do have the same voice actress.
So yeah I definitely called it too that Furina had been 'playing a role'. This was the part that definitely got me. Also I do love Focalors too. I love chars who have the ability to manipulate things from behind the scenes (whether they be good or bad). And it really does stink when you know you have a role to play that you can't deviate from, even if it's for the sake of all.

It also just occurred to me that even after this, you still need to do Dains' newest quest too lol.

Yeah they definitely knew where they were going with this story which is pretty amazing! They have it all planned out and doing an amazing job with it.

Focalors really had this all planned and it went just like she wanted which is pretty incredible and sad. Focalors and Furina really suffered for a long time in order to save Fontaine

I can see why! The perspective shift instantly changed how we feel about Furina and that shows just how well done the storytelling is.
Fontaine Archon Quest broke me into pieces 😭 Furina didn’t deserve all that suffering, she is literally the best!!!
Oh my goodness it really shattered my heart just knowing everything Furina has been through and pretty much tricked into doing it. So so sad.
@@K1ngBard Exactly, especially the part when she didn’t realize that she was crying did it 😭 and she still continued to play the role of the Archon. She needs to be a 6 star at this point
Poor Furina. It gets me every time. 🙃 I felt so bad for her when I was doing this quest. This is probably my favourite Act out of all the Archon quest acts so far. The drama, the story, the lore drops and the characters made this so good. And that sweet and tragic music at the end with Focalors was just the icing on the cake. It was also refreshing that this time the Fatui are on our side and that they, Father and Children, actually genuinely helped. Anyway can't wait for the finale!
You are absolutely right about everything. This archon quest has been everything and more right from the start! The writing and music has been on point and the voice acting is just beautiful. I really liked the Fatui during this archon quest, there was no big betrayal at the end either which was great! Such a good archon quest.
It was so good that I was watching without a breath, and then suddenly, a cliffhanger. Holy sh*t, I almost died. I cannot wait for more.

You know what is amazing about this entire thing? They hinted that the Fontanians aren’t real humans in the 3.8 limited event where the humans we met were Hydro Eidolons!!!! Makes you wonder what this years summer event will reveal.

Poor poor Furina
The osts at the end of the act are really the best of the entire game in my opinion, the theme "Comme il vous plaira" (As you wish) during Neuvillette and Focalors conversation is such a deep and tragic music while having a divine sound about it, it's easily my favorite with Souvenir avec le Crepuscule (Memory with the dusk) that plays at dusk in the city because both of them are remixes of the main theme of Fontaine
I could not agree more! The use of music to bring out the emotion and the weight of it all is just beautiful!
I remember after finishing this archon quest i felt so bad for furina that i logged in again and spent all my remaining primos until i got her up to c2 and her weapon and i didn't regret it cuz she's one of my strongest characters now 💙
That is amazing!!! Congrats on doing that and it is so sad to think of everything Furina has been through and not a single soul she could talk to about it. All of her pain was hers alone 😭

NGL, I was hoping we were going to be on her defense team. At least she ultimately survived the "death sentence", though the title of archon has swapped from her to the dragon sovereign himself, Neuvilette.

@K1ngBard they always do this! they also hint a lot about the next nation's lore in the X.8 version main events like the one we have in 4.8 but it's gonna be a bit hard to understand without context

I absolutely agree!!! The writing is so so good making us think that she is just a silly carefree character that isn't taking the prophecy serious and then they drop the bomb revealing what is really going on.
When Neuvillette went But Furina is still just a human isn't she?
I was immediately reminded of the Khaenriahns and how they were cursed with immortality, but their minds couldn't handle living past their normal lifespans.
So true! I do believe she is still human but I think Focalors cursed her to live long or even forever which you are right with that connection to Khaenriahns
@K1ngBard I meant it really puts into perspective why Neuvillette sounded so immediately worried for her. Because he knew that Furina must have been going through so much mental strain being forced to live more than 5x her lifespan. And that isn't even taking into account what she had to go through during that time.
I bet his respect for her determination skyrocketed after processing that realization, like mine did (though I already did clock her as someone forced into archonhood and wanting the best for her people but not knowing what to do, I didn't expect her archonhood to have been fake and also how hard it would have been for her.)

Hi! I'm so so glad that you're enjoying the Fontaine story. This was by far the story that hooked me up the most. I think I played it all in one sitting the moment every quest dropped ahah.

now that i'm watching this after knowing everything, I feel so so bad for furina. she's stuck between a rock and a hard place, like she's doing it for everyone and in the end they all turn their back to her, even those who she must have thought to be closest to her. imagine all 500 yrs of suffering and yet she can't fulfill her work in the end. she's so strong, if i were her i'll leave fontaine and never go back for the rest of my life XD

Storytime:
Spoilers writing this with the assumption you finished the whole quest already.
“The history of the hydro archon”
So when the primordial one defeated the sovereigns and stole their elemental authorities the shade of life, one of his 4 shining shades, created Edgiria to be the new heart of the primordial sea. Since the hydro Severigne was killed basically. She kinda became and Archon by default.
She spends a lot of time there basically locked up. Now I'm not sure but I feel she was freed after the Fall of Remuria. (previous Fontain we will not get into that).
She basically created all the people of the fontain using the primordial sea to shape-shift oceans into human forms. But she didn't have full hydro authority since she wasn't a sovereign.
Celestian didn't like that so she cursed her with a prophecy basically that we know of. Then the cataclysm struck and all the archons were called upon. So she tasked one of her oceanside to be the next archin if she died.
She did. So as Folcalor stated she went “ok I'm gonna dip fix the whole prophecy thing for me even if it's my fault”
Btw when Edgiria died she turned into a “pool of Emrita” and her companion Simurgh (a giant bird made by Rhukhadavate from a shard of the goddess of flocers) plunged into that pool and shattered into pieces and those pieces became the Pari race. The little fairies at the north of the desert. The pool is at the bottom of the giant three.
Anyways. Folcalor tried to figure out what the fuck to do. And she got her only option to kill herself and not only that but to destroy her archon good aka the divine throne that Celestial gave Edgiria and return the hydro authority to the sovereign so he would have full authority and could help her people.
Thankfully after Edgiria died there was no heart of the primordial sea so hydro sovereign was able to reincarnate as Neuvilete. (we won't go into why is he a human)
So she invited him to basically rule over humans with her and gambled that it would make him compassionate enough toward them so he would do the “turn full people” thingy for her after she died.
But of course celestial would smite her if they knew about her plan so she needed a puppet archon to divert atencion while she gathered enough power to destroy their whole system.
So she separated her divinity, or more accurately she separated her “humanity” from her and made furina out of it. She told her that she needed to roleplay as Archon otherwise everybody would die if she did even a slightly bad job at it. Also she cursed her to not die as long as she is alive to make it more believable. Rest is history.

With every new region that comes out, the archon quest seems to get even better but in all honesty i just can’t imagine how hoyoverse is going to top this one at all. It blew my mind when i first played it. Furina is such a well-written character this really cemented her place in my heart 🥹💙
