I planted my 2025 garlic in November here in South Carolina Zone 7B. ❤❤❤ This will be my first year growing garlic and I am stoked! Love your homesteading updates! Thanks for posting!
That's awesome! I think the technical term is called stratification. This is the same process required for peaches, persimmons, and buckeyes to name a few. We have had a bag of persimmon seeds in the refrigerator for 2 months to prep them for germination! Good luck! Great content!
Ugh to late for us here in mass the weather has been changing so much the past few weeks going from mid 40’s and high 50’s to right back down to below 35 as the high with the wind chill 18 and lows of below 17-27
+@joshfishing3401 Ugh. That’s rough. We had a cold first 2 weeks in December! It was so weird!!!! It was below freezing for an entire week!!! But then it warmed up for 2 weeks. On Christmas it was 50! lol
I know this sounds like a silly question but I am genuinely asking, would planting garlic work in Florida climate? We’re supposed to hit the 40’s in my region, however I think that’s the coldest it’s gonna get for us 🥲

+@beyajaramillo787 Honestly I have no idea 🤔 I would say talk to someone at your local garden center to see what they say…
Would planting in pots outside in Tennessee still kinda work? I guess it’s worth a shot.
+@Critter145 yes! I’ve done it before. Plant like 6 in a 12 inch pot:)
🤣 it’s -20c and snow on the ground which has been frozen for over a month. So…not yet😊
Is that just regular store bought garlic. I'd love to try planting.
+@jsheible3695 Yes it is. :) Try to buy organic if you can but the regular stuff works fine.
