Informative, thank you Mr. Young, I am more of a percolator camper myself so this well engineered piece of equipment will not make it to the forest with me, and I have watched one of your videos with a simple one piece pour-over at an extremely low price point that has made it to my pack, and as always I appreciate your time and efforts creating and posting these videos.
I recognize those filters. They are Hario V60, Size 01 filters. The filters are the same as what I use with my SOTO wire spiral coffee cone. Thanks for the nicely made video.
Today the Ukranian Orthodox church around the corner from me is celebrating Christmas. Cheers Mark & Gina. This time of year a double wall SS coffee cup is great for travel in a car. I like coffee hot, so I drink coffee everyday out of a double wall ss cup with lid. I look forward to waking up for coffee.
Years back there was talk about two of the Caribiana Islands becoming Canadian Provence's. I know one of them was St. Lucia as I was dating a lovely young lady from there, I be leave the other was Martinique, both of which produce excellent coffees. so we came close to coffee being a product of Canada.
@@MarkYoungBushcraft BTW, What grind do you use with this. I would assume a fine grind, much like an espresso. Thinking of getting this filter system. I was traveling and cobbled something together with a Stanley cup and ceramic cone. Not at all easy to use. I drink coffee with lots of milk, similar to cafe au lait.
Well I don’t recognize that stove at all. You got me curious now though. I like that pour over setup. I especially like that the cup isn’t oversized. Thanks for sharing Mark!
The stove appears to be the Lofi USB and remote battery bank powered wood burner. Looks like a great stove. The cup is interesting, but I get by with a 700 ml titanium cup with a home-made cozy made from an ancient blue foam pad.
Yes, the LOFI. Review coming. I have a few insulated mugs from the GSI Infinity to Keith double-wall titanium. The one advantage this offers is the integrated pour-over. Thanks for commenting
I really like the Picopresso from them. It does pretty good expresso, and I can make cappuccino if I bring my nanofoamer. It does help to preheat the picopresso with boiling water before brewing, and I replaced the portafilter basket with a better a better one and added a shower screen. Do you think it makes better coffee than the Aeropress? It would be nice if the offered the Cuppamoka with a smaller cup as I generally don't need that much in one go!
G'day Mark, thats a little beaut, so well thought out. Btw, any reason why it couldn't be used as a water bottle too ? i.e. do you reckon the lid seal would hold up in a pack ? In any event, it leaves your cup/mug free for other purposes, not the least boiling, and I'm pretty sure it'd be of a suitable diameter for nesting in said cup/mug. + as you mentioned, a significant thermal upgrade as well. Reckon I would carry it on an overnighter at least, ...... and certainly on a day hike. Barring for the longer distance gram counters, I really cant see any weakness at all, ....... though I'd probably add a reusable mesh filter, shame it doesn't come with one, but not a deal breaker.. I might wait another payday or two, (since the G15 is on the way, lol), but this is another product that is so compelling and definitely well worth the dough IMO. Cheers Duke. P.S. Stove ? ....... looks to be a "gasifier" job ...... a new model Solo stove maybe ?
Hi Duke. I would be a bit hesitant to carry the mug full of water in my pack. I would be afraid the silicone stopper would get pulled loose. The LOFI stove. Review coming soon. Thanks for commenting
Refreshing Video! Nothing like coffee in the woods. I was looking for a single cup, nesting solution. Any experience with STANLEY Adventure All-In-One Boil + Brew French Press? Seems more versatile and less to carry.
It is a small aluminum tin that I was given at a bushcraft gathering years ago. I believe they were purchased in bulk either on Amazon or Aliexpress. Thanks for commenting
A LOFI stove? I only got to try it once, but I learned top down doesn’t work like other stoves, but I still think it will be awesome. Haven’t had a chance to do it right yet.
@@MarkYoungBushcraft my sticks were pretty wet, I likely wasn't patient enough. It was cooking my dinner. Ha. Given time, it probably would have dried them out and started working better. I will claim it was likely my fault. The stove is solid.
@@MarkYoungBushcraft thank you Mark. May I say I really enjoy you review philosophy, nice and relaxed. But always logical and practical. Keep up the good work.. BTW have you ever had a look at Bluetti power bricks for those of us who often car camp?
Burning lips and tongue while drinking scolding hot Rampage Coffee.......exceptable 😘 I wonder if there is a small metal coffee filter that would replace having to use paper? ✌️🇺🇸🇨🇦✌️
I have a stainless steel mesh one from Buphallo that would work... it has little clips on the side so that it'll hang over most cups so you wouldn't need the cone insert at all, though.

Nice. A simple but yet effective design. As always, a big thumbs up on the excellently done review video.

The LOFI is amazing. Thanks for commenting Jonny
I have the Pipamoka by them, great bit of quality kit and no need for filters. Thanks for the review.

You really do love your coffee! Try roasting your own beans it's a game changer. I enjoy your videos.
In fact, I do roast at home and have a very old video about roasting in the woods. Thanks for commenting

With a filter system you can try different grinds. I go with a fine grind but not as fine as espresso@@lewisward4359
