Hello Karen. Yes, I struggled keeping warm at times on this one. Like you, I am looking forward to the flowers and birds of spring, my favourite time of the year. I hope you are having a nice Christmas and happy New Year.
Owdo Chris. Well bugger! Gutted, if I'd of known you were on my local fell I would have joined you for a quick sniffter. Fairsnape is a favourite of mine when a quick fix is needed. Great video as always, Chris. Wiping the ice off the thermometer was a nice one! And I just wanted to comment on the church decorations; whoever did that did an amazing job. Inventive and traditional at the same time. Even through video the atmosphere was incredible.

I've been struggling to get out on wild-camp lately but if the weather plays ball and nowt crops up, maybe next weekend. Best wishes pal, Chris
Cheers Tony. Good question! I suppose it depends on how often you are going to use it. For weight to space ratio, it is brilliant (and cheaper than a Hilleberg....though probably not constructed with the same level of craftsmanship). If you are only an occasional winter camper and avoid rough weather/choose sheltered pitch locations, I'm sure you could get away with cheaper options. 🙂

Take care Chris n keep posting
Bessie's R
Thanks as always Ron. Aye, some great place-names hereabouts, though not as fantastical as the ones in the Galloway hills and mountains.......maybe those are to put off the English 😉?
I've been struggling to get out on wild-camp lately but if the weather plays ball and nowt crops up, maybe next weekend.
Best wishes pal, Chris
Another good vid Chris, question mate, me as an OAP and pennys being tight is that tent worth the price.
@@ChrisJB Thanks for the quick reply mate, Just getting back into my walking not winter camped since I left the army 1987, am 78 now, got me a naturehike Taiji 2 we shall see, going for a recce of Chrome Hill tomorrow.
Hi. How long is the walk, from the car park? Do you need a map or are there signs?
Not far at all, about two miles to the top of Fairsnape and two miles back. Whilst the route is straightforward in clear conditions, a map and knowing how to use one would be best. Hope this helps. 🙂

Gotta be a white man thing camping in the cold rain and snow. Man its hard for me but Ill try.
It can be a long time on those long December nights but is usually a positive experience. Cheers, Chris
