Here in Australia those spots are for "parents with prams". When I cared for my father, who was in a wheelchair, and there were no free disabled spots, I would park in those spots. I figured that he was in an adult pram. Never got called out for it.

I'm in Australia too, I'm a disability pensioner and have a disabled parking permit. I asked the concierge at the Westfield shopping centre, if I could park in the spots for parents with prams, and was told that of course I could, I've only used them once, as I need to open my door wide to get out of the car, and the time I used one, it was the last one with a footpath beside it.

Im also disabled and in Australia and as a disabled permit holders we are legally permitted to use both disabled parking and parents with prams parking as long as our permits are visible.

In the US a person with a handicap sticker(placard) can stop and unload in a RED (any color) zone, can park where they feel is safe, park in a area mark for police/security spot, employee of the month spot, etc. The handicap placard allows parking by law anywhere.

A handicap parking spot is the only one that s fineable/enforceable. ALL the others are just a courtesy (parents with children/expectant mothers/law enforcement/etc). If I'm having a bad day (major pain throughout my body), and all the HP spots are taken, I'll park in one of those spots. And as a veteran, I'll usually park in one of the LE spots (former MO - it counts as LE. 😉 )

Although I do feel for women having to go through pregnancy, as it is no walk in the park....it is not debilitating nor is it permanent. To hear someone making a big case out of someone using the spot that truly needs it because of serious health issues just makes me want the removal of the "pregnant parking" an just make more handicap spots for those that need them most
On a personal note...I have always parked away from the front of stores to allow those individuals with needs because it is a courteous thing to do for others and it is not going to kill me nor any other able bodied individual to walk
Philippians 2:3-5 New Living Translation (NLT)
Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don't look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

For the neighbor that complained about everything in the garden of the home (the one where mint was planted near the border): For ultimate revenge, one could install a root barrier all along the property line (about 1 to 2 feet inside the border). Once that is installed, there are a few kinds of bamboo that grow incredibly, almost unbelievably fast and it spreads almost as fast as it grow. The root barrier will keep it out of OP's friend's garden, but will allow it to (in the process of really, really wanting to grow and spread) cross into the garden of the next-door garden. They will be unable to kill it as fast as it grows and spreads. Now that's biological warfare!

I grew up in Boise, Idaho. Boise is about 50 miles away from the Oregon border. Between Boise and Oregon, is one of the world’s biggest mint farming areas. It smells amazing, and I think they get two, maybe three harvests from it every single season (I’m a city boy, so, what do I know?) I do know, however, that those mint fields are never rotated like they do with other crops. They just water it and harvest it. It smells like a fresh box of mints.

About 20 years ago California was considering adding pregnancy to the list of disabilities for parking. Obstetrician group stepped in and said "Don't. Most pregnant women don't get enough exercise so it's better for them to park further out and walk." And disabled people can park in any spot unless reserved for police, fire, bus, or a specific person.

Even if she was ready to pop at any moment, being pregnant is not a disability. She had no right to harass a disabled person over a parking spot she had no legal or moral right to. Those spots are a courtesy of the store, legally they are no different from any other non-handicapped spot.

OP's mother in the last story was wrong to tell her she should have gone home and went back to the store later. Why waste time and gas making a second trip when she was already there. And like the cops said, the spaces are a courtesy and it should be ok for a disabled person to use the space when no handicapped spaces are available. And as the husband pointed out, he could drop off his pregnant wife at the door, park then meet her inside. She would not need to walk more because of OP taking the space. In fact, she would walk less. He could alao pick her up at the door, thus saving her a few steps. Hopefully it was just pregnancy hormones making her act like a total butt nugget, but somehow I think it more likely that is just how she is. The hormones just amplified it.

The pregnant mother one, I know imma get a lot of flak for what I’m about to say but that’s fine. First, when you’re pregnant, walking is better for you so the delivery goes easier. Being pregnant is NOT a handicap. Unless you’re having major problems with the pregnancy, which tbh if you are, you shouldn’t be walking much anyway, but it does NOT entitle you to a handicap parking spot. That’s called being an entitled, lazy Karen. Those spots are for people with walkers and wheelchairs, etc, the ACTUAL handicapped people.

I would agree except for one sentance:
"The husband told his wife that it's OK, he'll just drop her off at the door."
Meaning that OP was driving and Karen was a passenger in the car (with appearantly no issues standing around for long periods of time.) In a case like that, if I was a disabled driver and all the reserved spaces were taken by pregnant passengers, I would be upset too because they have options and I don't.

Please stop putting a response to a story before you read anything. There is absolutely no context to what you are saying and no body is gonna remember what you said by the time the story is over. Not a senseless response to something absolutely no one would understand. Is it meant to just be filler to pad the length of the video? There are better ways to do that. If you want to say something to start give a cliff notes/summary of what you are about to read. For example "hey everyone, I have a great story for you today about (insert summary, HOA Karens and an OP with a brilliant way to deal with them)."
