Gracefully said young man. I really loved and respected your father. I'm also from the Chi!!! I love the dedication ceremony Chicago had for him. This is just a little of what he really stood for. He truly was a trendsetter. I'm much younger born in the sixties....I've never met your Father but his spirit resignates with in. I have him on my playlist. 😂 Shabba Doo!!!! My son is also of a mix race. I love Jesus and one day when the rapture comes. I will see him dancing again. From a Chicagoan now living in the South Suburbs. ❤❤❤ You are his legacy. 😊😊😊

Don "Campbellock" Campbell originated the dance Locking, and Shabba Doo followed other dancers that was on Soul Train to band together to form THE LOCKERS DANCE GROUP.. PLEASE DO NOT FORGET DON AND HIS LEGACY.. AS NO ONE CAN FORGET SHABBA DOO, DON SEEMS TO GET PUSHED TO THE BACK . RIP DON CAMPBEII, SHABBA "ADOLFO QUINONES" DOO, FRED BERRY, GREG POPE. I have to say each LOCKER had their own locking style and skills , but Shabba Doo brought it to a larger professional level by bringing it to larger crowds, the movie screens. He exposed so many to Street Dance, and made other want to learn the Dances. Him and several of the Original Lockers started teaching these styles passing this knowledge on to other generations of Dancers. TONY GOGO WENT ON TO JAPAN IN 1985 AND STARTED LOCKING, AND STREET DANCE FUSION SCHOOLS. MUCH LOVE AND RESPECT TO THE REMAINING LOCKERS TONI BASIL, BILL "SLIM THE ROBOT" WILLIAMS, LEO "FLUKY LUKE" WILLIAMSON, ANTHONY "TONY GOGO" FOSTER. And others who stepped into fill out the group when needed. We will miss Sabba Doo , I had always hoped he would have made another movie like he referred to having written a script for. It was suppose to carry on from the second movie. But he said his vision saw the lead character being a woman. The World of Street Dance will miss a Great Teacher, and Locking Legacy.

Shabba was known for Poplockin, NOT breakdancin. Breakdancin was in New York heavy bac then, "Rock Steady Crew", "New York City breakers". Westcoast had mostly Poplockin. Movies like "Footloose" "Breakin" was about westcoast lifestyle, with a caucasian female as the Star, smh. New York flicks were more like "Beatstreet, Wildstyle, Krushgroove ect". More of a deeper hiphop feel. Graffiti, breakin, Rappin, dj'ing ect.

R.I.P. to the man I saw on the movie screen who also became a friend.
He always laughed when I told him how he helped my teenage dating life because I had a similar look as him. He said he was still the best looking between me and him. lol
Crazy story: I grew up with his niece in Chicago and when Breakin came out she was telling us that he was her uncle but we didn’t believe her…years later after meeting and becoming friends I found out that she was telling the truth after all.
I’m also good friends with his son.
