My very first jersey was a goathead back in 1998 that eventually had the Dominator stitched on. I'm happy to be back to the classic royal look, but I'm thrilled this is back as a third. Lot of good memories in that jersey.
Even as a super young kid I didn't like the 90s goathead jersey b/c it seemed like a bad color combo in my eyes and a knock-off beauty & the beast logo, but now I love it! So nostalgic and a great alternate jersey that reminds me of the 90s/00s good times, vibes and music.

While I hate the bland text on the front of #3, the customization is sharp. I didn't know those had yellow nameplates. I thought all this time the Flyers were the only team that wore different colored nameplates.
I’ve always liked the white goat head better. The black shoulders look sick on the white jersey. Same thing with the white original jerseys. The blue shoulders look great on the white.
I remember that game, and how much I had to hang my head after the high ankle sprain that followed. What a ridiculous way to start his career after the daring escape he made going off the grid from Russia.
@@uglythirds I was there. Being a life long Pens fan dating back to the Michel Dion days, it was a big deal to have the Penguins hold their training camp in my province. Took my vacation that week and got as many pics and autographs as I could. Ironically, I got Malkin's sig the morning of that game.
Im not a big goathead guy at all. I think its super 90s cheesiness that people love because of nostalgia. I say this as a 90s kid that grew up with them.
Have you seen John rant about the Mighty Ducks yet? Those Anaheim videos are full of "it's just nostalgia" stuff. The goathead is at least halfway decent, and the jersey...well I guess it's grown on everyone long enough that it looks good, but nostalgia is definitely a big chunk of the attraction
Love your guy's videos. I'm so glad I found your channel.

They've found the perfect balance of class and nostalgia. Hopefully they ride it out for a while.
I never realized that detail about the stripes on the anniversary jerseys. That's a pretty cool subtle detail.
This is probably one of the best YT channels that I have found, ever. Besides live stream bikini models in slow motion. 🤘🤘🤘
At some point the Moose Jaw Warriors(WHL) wore the "Goat-head"uniform, albeit obviously different logo.
I bought that black Adidas goat head jersey and its by far a great jersey :)

Also there's a yin and yang symbol in the goat head's eye!
Finally! Somebody else with a tin hat!
I always thought the striping on the sides of the goat head jersey were supposed to be Sabres, not horns.
I've heard that as well. The tips of the sabre. We were too focused on the upsidedown devil when we were kids to argue about it, though.

So you recommend taking a snowmobile to a Sabres game? And not a BMW?
Malkin got run over by LeClair in the first preseason game in Moncton NB.

Buffalos white jersey is the best
Unpopular opinion: The jersey John is wearing qualifies as one of the greatest jerseys in Sabres history.
Navy over royal?!?
@uglythirds Of course not. I'd have to be psychotic to think like that.
@@Basinrailsthe gray collar and laces making an unintentional cartoonish fish skeleton is certainly a detraction
You're right. That is an unpopular opinion. The ugly collar and numbers on the front kills it.
Sabres 50th anniversary jersey
Sits 5th on my list with the Heritage Classic just in front of it.

Not to me. I would still adore this today even if it didn't exist 25 years ago. An awesome logo and colors work in any era.
