    My buddy just finished his TSi build assist program and I just completed my “discovery flight” this morning. Long, fun journey ahead for me! Looking forward to the freedom flying provides and the process of building my own TSi. In the meantime, I can’t stop watching your videos!

    Great video. I seen your TSI on Evan's channel. I love the modifications you guys made. I love the buttons vs. the switches for you lights as well as you location choice for you lights. It really cleans up you panel. I also love the paint colors you chose for your TSI. Congrats... beautiful plane. Please keep the adventures coming. Inspiring!!

    Hi. We met at Oshkosh this year as you were tying up your plane and you gave me a walk around and a bit of an overview. Definitely one of the nicest planes I saw there all week. I stumbled upon your channel, keep up the good work! I really liked the video you made as you were flying into Oshkosh. Great overview and I had never seen those oxygen systems before but they are now on my radar. What avionics is covered in the kits? Hard to tell from the Sling brochure I picked up at Osh.

    • @OneAlphaMike
      @OneAlphaMike  2 года назад

      The kit is basically just the airframe. Engine and avionics are separate.

    • @luckymacy
      @luckymacy 2 года назад

      @@OneAlphaMike on their brochure I picked up at Oshkosh they show a engine/avionics/prop package for $99k. I assumed you probably got that package and may have customized it for what you wanted. I don’t see any details on what’s included. What’s the TBO on that engine?

    • @OneAlphaMike
      @OneAlphaMike  2 года назад +1

      I didn't buy the engine and avionics through Sling. TBO is currently 1200, but expected to increase to 2000.

    Great video, thanks! Where do the folk who own aircraft and live in Mountain View store their planes? I don't see hangars? Thanks!

    • @OneAlphaMike
      @OneAlphaMike  2 года назад +1

      Yeah, that’s a downside at Mountain Air - no hangars. The non-pilot residents outnumber the pilot residents, so it might be hard to get hangars approved, and even if they could, I’m not sure there’s room for them. For many pilots, it’s a seasonal home, so they just leave their planes on the ramp with a cover. One told me, “it’s cheaper to repaint your plane every 10 years than to pay for a hangar over that time.” 🤣 I know a few pilots have a hangar at nearby Avery County, but that does sort-of defeat the purpose of a fly-in community.
      The best explanation I got was from a pilot who summers at Mountain Air and winters at Spruce Creek: “Spruce Creek is an aviation community that happens to have a golf course. Mountain Air is a golf community that happens to have a runway.”

    You shouldn’t be saying anything on approach or departure unless it’s pertaining to safety of flight.

    • @OneAlphaMike
      @OneAlphaMike  Год назад +2

      Thank you for your concern. At the airlines, we absolutely utilize sterile cockpit any time below 10,000’ AGL. In my airplane, if conditions dictate, I ask my passengers to refrain from talking as well. But in a non-complex airplane on a low-workload day/VFR approach to a familiar airport, I’m not overly concerned about it. Your procedure should naturally be adjusted according to your comfort and experience level.
