    So impressed with your beautiful Sling. Without doubt the best looking one I have seen. I am really interested in how you designed and painted it and the ceramic coating you used. Thanks so much.

      Thanks! I did make a video about the building and painting of the plane. I believe the ceramic coating was Onyx, a product out of Germany.

    Watching these sling aircrafts is what got me started on my private piloting journey.

    Hi. I’m out of Manassas and sometimes fly out of Leesburg. I’ve flown into Williamsburg a few times. Great sandwich place. Hope you got a chance to talk to Charlie.

    Nice video! Can you do more technical videos like your first one? Fuel burn, engine/ avionics management. Likes, Dislikes, improvements for the TSI etc.

    • @OneAlphaMike
      @OneAlphaMike  Год назад +1

      Yeah, I like the technical stuff better, too. If I'm alone in the airplane, like in the Oshkosh video, I can talk forever about technical stuff. But on a trip with the family, I'm not sure if they'd enjoy me talking technical stuff the whole time. I'll have to figure out some solution.

    Thanks for posting the video! It’s fun to see how comfortable your daughter is with flying.
    If you don’t mind me asking what did the ceramic coating cost for your TSi. I just bought a kit and would like to include that in my list of things to add to my build.

    • @OneAlphaMike
      @OneAlphaMike  Год назад

      Ceramic job was a bit over $1500. Congrats on the kit!

    Nice ride great looking plan, for future videos maybe mention the speeds that you're getting at different places, and the fuel economy

    • @OneAlphaMike
      @OneAlphaMike  Год назад +1

      I discussed speed and fuel burn in the Oshkosh video, but I suppose I could do that in future videos as well.

      @@OneAlphaMike yeah just as you're flying along just make a little quick notes now this way we can see it again and again different times different places which are kind of getting and doing, a point of interest. Did you consider the high Wing version of sling?

    • @OneAlphaMike
      @OneAlphaMike  Год назад +2

      Good idea. I didn't really consider the HW as it wasn't available yet when I pulled the trigger on the TSi. HW is a bit more roomy and easier to get in and out of, but I prefer the looks of low wing airplanes, and the TSi is faster.

    @oneaplhamike, Have been following your slink since your build with the great Evan Brunye. Subscribed. I am getting my kits next week. Hope tp be in touch with you to get your inputs. Loved your paint scheme. Wondering how much that cost , if you don't mind sharing, so I can plan my budget well. Also wondering what cameras are you using? Were they hardwired during the build?

    • @OneAlphaMike
      @OneAlphaMike  Год назад +1

      Paint can vary widely, depending on who does it and how complicated the scheme is. I'd say between $15k and $50k. Mine was at the low end of that.
      For cameras, I have the Garmin VIRB, mainly because it connects to the audio panel via Bluetooth. It's discontinued, but you can find used ones on Ebay. My cameras are not hardwired. Because of that, I bought a Drift Ghost XL for the wingtip, since it has a very long battery life.

    Do you have to pay for the plane in cash and then refi it when it's built? Im not sure I understand the build process. Will anyone finance the build?

    • @OneAlphaMike
      @OneAlphaMike  Год назад +1

      The best financing option I found was to get a HELOC (Home Equity Line of Credit) and use that the finance the plane. Much better interest rates doing that than any other option I found, assuming you own a home and have equity in it.

    Any advantage to ceramic coating during the build process rather than later? Id love to PM you about your build process with Evan. Where to stay, how many days in a row, anyone come build with you. My TSi build starts with him in Dec/Jan

    • @Skepilot
      @Skepilot Год назад

      Ceramic coating goes on the paint - wouldn't make much sense to do that during the build process. Are you maybe thinking of corrosion protection like alodining vs Corrosion-X? Evan can give you the scoop on that, as well as your other questions.

    • @altitudeadventures412
      @altitudeadventures412 Год назад

      @@Skepilot thanks for the reply, I was just thinking while the paint was still clean and fresh to get it sealed…but I have learned that you are supposed to wait 30-90 days after new paint depending on the brand before you ceramic coat.
