    Legendary work, there may not be a lot of people in need for this content, but the people in need of this content need it A LOT. Seriously amazing to have the comparison shots, thanks a TON for taking the time to put this all together!!!!!!

    Just so you know, this scope goes by three different names:
    1) Amscope T670Q PL DK2
    2) OMAX MQ8333
    4) LW Scientific Infinity i4
    I bet Swift sells it, too, under their own name...

    Great review, even if sometime it's hard to properly evaluate the image quality (with RUclips compression) Vs what we have at home.
    I have a SWIFT380B that I got new/open box on Amazon for 150$ us (203$ canadian, shipping next day included). I really like it! I've got a 20X and 60X dry (15$ each or 20$ canadian).
    I wish one day, amateur microscopy will be as popular as amateur astronomy!

    T670q you can buy microscopy for under a thousand dollars then buy a dark field condenser cost $110.i've had it for about two years i'm happy with it you did a good review👍

      Thank you!!!
      I just received plan lenses for the T340,-DK-Led so I’m going to see how that will compare with the T670q-pl-dk2-LED. If I recall correctly, the T340 and lenses should be around $400 cheaper than the the T670q

    For oil darkfield condenser you need special iris objective 100x.

    • @zoominmicroscopy
      @zoominmicroscopy  Год назад

      Thanks! I was hoping that the increase in numerical aperture due to the oil would allow nice darkfield using the 40x lens but I guess the patch/stop in the oil condenser is really designed for 100x. I hadn’t thought about that until reading your comment!. Thank you!!

    Great review, thanks for comparing the two. I was a little skeptical about why they would sell the scope with the oil condenser when it should be used with the special 100x oil objective that has an iris - this would be when I'd use that condenser. The stage's jerky movement and going out of focus when you turn the controls is disappointing - the same thing happens with my cheap Amscope B120.
    I live in a part of the world where I would have to pay import tax on whatever scope I upgrade to. I've found an offer from a Euromex dealer that I can't turn down. The scope is the IS.1153PLi (also quintuplet nose) but only 4 objectives - I'll get a 20x later.

      Thank you!!! There is a option on amscope.com to add on a 100x lens with variable aperature for an additional $400. I’m going look at oil lenses at 50 or 60x.

    I have a quick question. Would you recommend buying directly from amscope website or from amscope on ebay? I am planning to buy an amscope T490 LED. But, would you buy it on ebay or directly on amscope´s website?

    • @zoominmicroscopy
      @zoominmicroscopy  Год назад +1

      I have only bought directly from the amscope website directly. The scopes I bought have shipped from a third party, arrived in about a week, and in good condition. I’m sorry that I have no experience with the Amscope store on eBay..
      Enjoy your new scope and feel free to share your experiences with us. I might get one for review, upgrades, and modifications.

    Excuse me..... Is it possible to use the 60x objective that you purchased from Motic for your Stellar Pro in this AmScope 670Q? What im trying to ask is, Are they parfocal? Thanks in Advance :-)

      Yes. I’ve tried it out and it works fine.thank you for your question!!!

    In your review you mentioned contacting Amscope regarding the oil darkfield condenser. How is that going?

    • @zoominmicroscopy
      @zoominmicroscopy  Год назад

      I just read a comment that inspired a thought. I wonder if the patch/stop in the oil condenser is designed/sized to be used with a 100x adjustable iris objective. I had hoped it would work with 40x and 60x lenses, but maybe the condenser is just not designed to work with those.
      I’ll check with amscope this afternoon or tomorrow.

      @@zoominmicroscopy I watched an Amscope RUclips video about using the oil condenser and that seems to be my conclusion also. A little misleading don’t you think?

    Thanks for the update. Too bad the Swift doesn't have Köhler illumination.

    • @B01
      @B01 Год назад

      And swift has 1w LED compared with almost certainly a 3w on this one. Generally with Omax and Amscope it seems to be around the $350+ mark where the LEDs increase in output from the standard 1w to the 3w variant

    • @zoominmicroscopy
      @zoominmicroscopy  Год назад

      I think B has identified the big shortcoming of the Swift- the 1 watt bulb. With a 3W bulb, I think the stellar 1 would be much better.

    • @zoominmicroscopy
      @zoominmicroscopy  Год назад +1

      Thanks for your excellent comment, B!

      @@B01 I agree. When I get the motivation I’m going to see if I can upgrade that LED. I’m really enjoying the Swift though. I bought an Amscope T690 to have has a dedicated phase contrast scope but they sent me the wrong kit. While I wait for the replacement I’ve been using it as a regular scope next to the Swift. I feel that latter is of better build quality and optics.

    • @zoominmicroscopy
      @zoominmicroscopy  Год назад

      Swift told me that, “there is no 3W bulb for the stellar 1”, which is a bit ambiguous and left me wondering if an aftermarket upgrade would be required.
      I think the 1W bulb is part of their efforts to market the stellar 1 as an eco-friendly alternative to other scopes. It’s a nice idea (if true). I might look at other swift models to see if they have 3w bulbs- because otherwise, the Stellar 1 is really great for the cost.

    Nice review the motic microscopes have caught my eye of late seen some beautiful footage online do you have any experience with them as they are looking like a hefty investment

      I too have seen a lot of amazing video using the Motic BA310. “Tardibabe” on Instagram has really sold me on Motic. I haven’t used a Motic yet, but I think I’ll get one soon.
      Thank you for your compliment!!!

      I have the Motic AE30. It is an excellent, inverted phase contrast microscope. Motic makes their own microscopes in their own factory, unlike most other Chinese manufacturers which sell them to be labeled with a brand.
