Yes, if you served in US Airborne, you used T-10 as main canopy and spare parachute in separate pack in front of you. Correct. And till today US Airborne used such parachute systems. Only special force use planning parachutes similar to sportive one. Regarding round military parachute Soviet Union and present Russian technology much more superior compare to American. T-10 is static line system which is last century technology. And I am surprising why US still used it. In Soviet Union that system was obsolete since 1970s because since that time we had parachute systems with small stabilisation canopy which can give possibility to jump with much more high speed aircraft and with any altitude of jumping from the aircraft. Russian military parachute system permitts delay in opening the parachute for any time. And such as that system has stabilisation it is very safe to open canopy any time also. So, learn the material part, it is interesting. And of course, in Russia special force also use planning parachute also, as in US Army. That movie made 1985 and you can see what parachute system was that time. Even today Americans doesn't have something similar for airborne troops what we had in 1985. Look for tanks jumping from airplane, for example (with possibility to have 2 crew onboard). You can imagine what we have now in Airborne! In what Americans are superior - it is in sportive parachute systems. They have good material for sportive canopy and good sportive parachutes. With best wishes!
@@ZaVDV My last jump was in 1983 with a 5 cell square, I jumped the T-10 my second jump years before by a unscrupulous D level jumper at a very small airport up north in Ohio, he sold me a para commander round that my new more modern jump zone said was a death rig which got me to buy the square. I served in US Marines and retired with Air Force.
I am not sure what kind of parachute is 5 cell square. Usually if it is sportive parachute it made as 7 and 9 cells. But may be I don't know. Any way, T-10 is reliable parachute, you are alive and it is confirmation! You can jump now, to refresh your flying feeling. Someimes it is good to jump! In USA you have a lot of drop zones.
Еденицы могут "постоять" у открытой двери,кто первым идёт,а остальные в потоке бегут и красоту неба только из-под купола и видят.

Помни когда?
Richard, you can ask your question in English. Your comment here in Russian is not clear to understand what do you mean. Good luck!
@@ZaVDV I mean remember when we used to jump with belly packs and T-10’s, para commanders etc?
