Been through the clip several times with my critical hat on but you've beaten me hands down - cannot fault this one (not a fan of your Train clips but each to their own) , I believe you are rediscovering much of the personalty and honesty that made many of your earlier clips pure classics - consider my hat well and truly doffed Sir. Would be lovely to see Toad again but you are more than good enough without a "backing group". Hope the IBS is improving.
So glad David only Vapes & does not SMOKE 💨 the way he was throwing the petrol ⛽️ about 😂, frightening but at least if it caught fire Sheldon you wouldn’t have to worry about the muck in the tank 😂 sorted 👌🏻
Did you establish that it's not a stuck/ bent valve that caused the pushrod to bend. It won't be apparent at tickover as the hydraulic lifter absorbs the problem, but it will do damage when revved. Putting a straight edge across all the valve stems wil highlight any discrepancy in valve seating as the stems should all sit level. You should do a compression, and valve seating test to check. Make sure the piston is well below TDC and gently tap the valve down with a soft drift on the stem, not the sping seat, so you don't dislodge the collets Listening to the sound and ease of how it opens and closes, you should hear a nice even thump as it closes. You don't need the engine out to replace a camshaft on the V8, it comes out through the front with the radiator and grille removed. I hope you replaced the rocker shafts, as they wear oval and will soon wear the new rocker arms. It's cricial to get the orientation of the shafts / arms correctly assembled to align all the oil galleries. They are handed and the shafts have notches on the end for correct assembly.
Yep it was not stuck don't worry also yes I know you can do the cam but I don't have the time and the money to do it as I need to get this sold to get my 3500S resto bill sorted! And yes all the rocker arms were new.
@@Mustafa-Dump Haa, haa, sadly I think you may have missed the point! You've made a major aSSumption, I'm not religious, you have no idea how far off the mark you are! Not sure if you're aware, but in certain circles, it is considered a major fashion faux pas to wear socks with your sandals. Sheldon was wearing socks with his sandals (ergo, opportunity for ribbing no.1) and he specifically referred to the 'hole' which was visible (opportunity for ribbing no.2). So I cheekily made a play upon the holy/holey and the Jesus wearing sandals/disciple/ two fingers to fashion link as I too like wearing socks with my sandals, with holes, regardless of religion! Shame that it had to be explained!
Excellent work and really satisfying to watch. Can’t wait to hear it running properly again. My dad used to work on those engines back in the day and I remember him saying how forgiving they were in as much as you could just take them apart and throw them back together again without too much difficulty and they would just run.
@@classic_britain All good buddy. I had a question on the video when you were pulling the CUB out of that garage about the name of that royalty free music bit you used in it. Did you get a chance to find out what it's called. I've been trying to find it myself but it's like a needle in the haystack mate. Cheers mate
Why are you selling this old gal Sheldon? She seems like with a bit of fettling she will be a peach.
I have one that's been restored

Thanks chris that's a really nice comment I have gone all out on this car and sadly I am not done yet!
Sounded very smooth for the brief moment so it's very promising 👍
Jelly mould was used to describe the Ford Sierra when it came out to replace the wonderful Cortina! Good luck with the Rover Sheldon

Your 'Jelly mould' reference was the nickname given to the Mk1 Sierra.
I've missed watching your vids man.
The old view count has rocketed 👍😁😁😁
Yeah it's doing well 20K here we come!
Don't sell the car, looks nice, make ot your daily run. 👍

"Jelly mould " was the nickname we gave the Ford Sierra wehen t first came out…
Socks and sandals rock out! Shoes are bad for your feet!

Jelly moulds were also shoes back in the 80's

A man after my own heart, a fellow disciple who wears his 'holy' socks (see what I did there) and sandals with pride! 🙏😎
Yes, I see what you did - you forced your religious beliefs in to a non-religious topic!

To be honest mate this is why I got rid of my p6. I loved it...but every job on them is horrible to do generally!

Almost started, Great work getting to this point.
it's just mechanics, nothing personal.
You should Mic up Dave too. Sounds like he's mumbling and can't understand a word he's saying.
sadly only got 1 mic
