Phoenix's mystery, underground bowling alley

Mark Glock brushed the leaves away from two solid metal plates. It would take a crane to lift them in order to see what was hiding underneath.
Glock was standing in a parking lot across from the Westward Ho at Central Avenue and Pierce Street in downtown Phoenix.
Below him, the remnants of one of downtown Phoenix’s most elusive mysteries: The Gold Spot. Glock is one of the few people alive who’s ever seen it.

Interesting. Those sky lights used to be in sidewalks in lots of downtowns, for the basements under the stores.

About 13 years ago I was living on the street downtown and I read a story in the New Times about this place. And friend of mine mentioned to those glass sidewalk sections and we decided to investigate. We went down there at night and it was very creepy. We saw that beam that said "stand behind the foul line". We couldn't hardly believe it. In fact, almost nobody believed us at all. Someone should go look and see if you can still get down there. It might make for a neat video.

I remember playing underground in tunnels in downtown phx as a kid...after 9/11 they were all fenced in or sealed off

It's always nice when people on camera wear a mask. Letting your viewer hear and understand you should always come 2nd to letting viewers know you'll comply.
