Thanks a lot for watching and safe journeys!
I’m Palestinian. Crossing from Israel into the WB you won’t run into any borders. It has nothing to do with special access or anything, just the reality of Israel administering the borders of both Israel and Palestine (complex). However, returning into Israel you will run into a checkpoint. It will most likely be fairly simple as there are two different checkpoints: A checkpoint for those with Israeli residency or visitor visas, like you, or a checkpoint for Palestinians who have a permit to enter (for work, or some speciality permit), the latter being a much more hectic checkpoint. Last, I’d 100% recommend visiting Ramallah. It’s the hustling and bustling business center of Palestine, it’s fun!
Thanks for the info. How would you recommend I go from Bethlehem to Ramallah? Should I go back to Jerusalem and then go from there or is it fine to go directly from Bethlehem to Ramallah either by bus or taxi?
You don't have to go back to Jerusalem to go to Ramallah. You can take the 231 bus. Google maps will give you options. Bethlehem is south of Jerusalem & Ramallah is north, so you could also go back through Jerusalem. It's a 2 hour bus ride, 1 hour by car. If you take a taxi tell them to use the meter, it's always cheaper. It's against the law for them to refuse. The 40 min ride to Bethlehem would've been 160 if you used the meter - it's 12 shekels to start & then 3.7 for every minute after. So you paid double what you should have. Always haggle in shops for souvenirs, etc.
You must be really proud of being Palestinian when you love saying the world Israel, a fiction country that invaded your land took it from uou. I guess you are a sellout .
I hope you and your family in Palestine stay safe with the Israeli terrorist attacks currently happening

Welcome back to the Holy Land! - Started following you back when you had less than 100K, good to see the progress! - Keep up the good work man :))
I like when you go to different countries. The change in culture is so educational.
I could also host you in a really nice place in Haifa if you would like to visit the city
Thanks. In my usual spontaneous style I'm not really sure where I'm going to end up on this trip, but I'm curious to see Haifa.
When people ask me where to go, Israel and Palestine is always my first recommendation. It’s super easy, there are incredible sites, great food and great people. I feel perfectly safe and welcome in both countries. And the fact you can take what is essentially a city bus across the heavily guarded border is such a surreal experience.
The Holy Land is one of the most incredible places I have visited, particularly the Old City of Jerusalem
great video, thanks.
one comment 3:40 minor faux pas leaving your backpack unattended in Israel
This was awesome! I loved this video. Gabe thank you for all the hard work you put into making these videos so we can sit back and enjoy traveling adventures. It is very much appreciated.
this was one of the most interesting video you ever posted. can't wait for the next one. thank you
Wow Jerusalem and Bethlehem look amazing I want to go there in the next few months
Looking forward to tomorrow’s video
This was so fascinating, and I was glued to everything that you showed us. Be safe.
Tel Aviv, hopefully you check out the old city of Jaffa

I think that Northern Israel Upper Galilee will be very interesting to you
Great video, love the adventure! I did not know it was this easy to go to Palestine
This is the way to explore. Just go with the flow!
From Bethlehem, Gabriel might also want to visit the Tomb of the Patriarchs & Matriarchs located in Hebron. Also in the West Bank, the city of Jericho might be worth visiting.
Hi Gabe, wow this is really getting interesting. We are waiting next video. Be safe. Chaos
I really enjoyed this experience....thank you Gabriel and stay safe x
Enjoy your time in the West bank, I recommend visiting Jericho - the oldest city in the world.
The border is not an issue when you enter the West Bank.
When you leave back to Israel they will ask for yoyr passport, ask you couple questions and then let you in.
Judeia e Samaria ✝️👍
Very interesting video!
All you had to do was take a shuttle to the Damascus gate in east Jerusalem and take a bus in the parking lot outside the old city, and take a shared taxi into the city center if that's where u want to go.
There’s no “West Bank of Palestine”. The term comes from the West Bank of Jordan and the river Jordan
The name of the region is the West Bank, and it's part of Palestine (along with Gaza).
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_bank
@@GabrielTravelerVideos It’s a term coined by the Jordanians for their seized territory following the Israeli war of independence. They had 20 years to make it an independent state. Palestinians certainly don’t call the region the West Bank and would likely argue that the entire region is Palestine not jus Jordanian war lines and Gaza (Egyptian war line)
See the link above. The official name is the West Bank. I don't make up the names. If the name changes I will be happy to use the new name.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos official name according to who? Not anyone who lives there. Israelis don’t say it (they say Judea and Samaria) and the Palestinians don’t use the term either. Only the Jordanians and subsequently the UN uses such nonsensical terms.
My mum is retiring this autumn and is taking a 12 day trip to Israel. I decided to join for the first part at least so am now doing my research for the trip! im a 37 year old guy, never have looked forward to a trip with mum until now!
You should use public transportation from Bethlehem to Ramallah, the orange public vans, cheaper and more real and fun
Gabriel go and stay at Banksy Hotel in Bethlehem " The Walled Off Hotel , i stayed a night there when i went right next to the wall, incredible experience
And if you don't wish to stay, you can still pop in to see the street art and historic exhibition inside on the ground floor. The exhibition will give you the background on why things are as they are now.
I have written in my blog from my visit in 2019: Bus 231 from Damascus Gate to Betlehem via Beit Jala. Last stop was in the middle of Betlehem along Hebron Road.
I think that was the bus we got in Jan 2020. Different bus station from the one opposite the train station
@@hpengwyn Yes, exactly. And it was not a good tip for Gabriel as he also already were in Betlehem when I posted my comment 🙂
Super easy trip. I will say the bus number seems to change from time to time. But if you get to the bus depot, finding the bus to Bethlehem is easy. Every other bus will have 99% Arab passengers. The one to Bethlehem will be 50% Europeans. Ir you can just ask.
How on earth did you get this video up so quick?! What a change in environment from Romania. Excited to see what adventures await!
Filmed from around 2pm at the airport to around 4:30 when I arrived in Bethlehem. Edited for a couple hours, went to dinner, added that clip on the end, processed the video, uploaded it with fast wifi and boom, mission accomplished. That's pretty much my routine, film during the day, edit in the evening and get it uploaded and posted if possible, though it doesn't always work out that way.
amazing work. thank you@@GabrielTravelerVideos
👋Hey there Gabriel!
You are loved & by me! haha Honestly, you're awesome my friend & I so look forward to your videos & I always enjoy all the content you put out there.
This video is just awesome & I felt so excited to see Israel, as I visited back in 2009 & have never visited since unfort.
I really loved the super friendly locals in Jerusalem & IMPO, I found them to be some of the world's friendliest & most approachable humans. Witnessing the Wailing Wall was amazing, very moving & totally unforgettable. And the old city & it's insanely awesome & very historic & beautiful architecture, cobblestone streets, etc;. Just utterly beautiful & I felt as though I had stepped right back in time, into biblical times.
As night approached, I couldn't help but shed tears of joy (suddenly coming to an absolute realisation, of where I actually was), as it was so amazing to me. And by night, with the many shimmering/sparkling night lights abound & standing up on the hill, right near the beautiful Peace Forest & then next to Hurva Synagogue. Absolutely epic & surreal, to say the least.
I carry very fond memories of an amazing country, filled with friendly, kind, very appreciative, joyful & hospitable people.
My only regret, that I wish I'd had more time to spare & had visited much more of Israel, than only Jerusalem & Bethlehem, which btw, was equally, utterly wonderful, beautifully historic & amazing! I met countless wonderful, kind & very hospitable people there too, that I actually lost count of how many hello's, welcome's, goodbye's & where are you from's I received. Words don't do true justice, to witnessing such historic places, possessing such long standing, rich & diverse cultures abound. IMPHO, I think you have to personally see & experience, if you can make the trip, even once in your lifetime. It's just that there's so much more to see across Israel.
Ironically & coincidentally here, I also visited Tbilisi, Georgia, but many years later, in 2018.
I absolutely love Georgia too & I do intend to revisit some day in the near future, but this time, with my immediate family.
Thanks for sharing & here's wishing you many more fun & exciting travel adventures.
Peace✌
See that's my problem. I'd love to visit the west bank. But cant , as I.ll never allow the occupiers have any say where I go.
Hi there, if you still in israel/Palestine consider coming up north to Haifa it’s a cool city you get sea city view from mount Carmel and there is nice authentic culinary
Gab, thanks for all your INFORMATIVE VIDEOs
Awesome, the closest I came to visiting Israel was on a cruise in 2017 we stopped in Jordan. Would love to visit one day. Until then I’ll travel with you Gabriel through your videos.. 😃👍.
Jordan gets cruise ships?
@@NoamTheGOAT50 yes, we were on the final leg on a round the world cruise, Melbourne to Greece. Stopped in Aqaba Jordan b4 Going through the suez canal. 😃👍
@@TheHuski that's good to know, I grew up half an hour north of there, just on the other side of the border, and I didn't know they got cruise ships over there.
Well done Gabriel. There is so much to see and learn there. Quite compartmentalised all the sections to explore. Hope you get to do alote there, looking forward to it. Excellent video. Keep going
My grandparents used to visit and do piligrimage in 1920s in Bethlehem, Jericho, Jerusalem, Palestine. It was only Palestine when they used to visit this amazing places.
Leaving backpacks unattended like that in Israel is asking for trouble
In Israel it is safer than where you live 😂

100%! Israel is the one place where "see something, say something" is something EVERYONE abides by! And with good reason!@@radiozelaza
Looks great, visited back in the 80s and the touts were pushy, you know you can get a ferry from Haifa to Cyprus
Hi Gabriel , very grateful to watch this vlog in light of all that has happened in the last year. I long to visit this part of the world. 🙏🏽 for peace although it doesn’t look promising 😢. Safe travels. I’m currently loving Siwa 👍❤️🇦🇺
You can get a visa on arrival in Turkey for $30. You don't have to apply in advance FYI.
Thks Gabriel, thanks to you I won't get confused, head down to Damascus Gate, and then to bus stop, take bus 231, runs every hour, and then back to Jerusalem bus 231 or 234 if bus 231 is not running, great to know, the bus will leave you at Bethlehem, in your way back try to find bus 231 bus stop for 2 dollars or more is better than 80, taxi should have been 40 with taxi meter, have a great time, and try to find bus 231, cheap way to back at Jerusalem
You are so exciting! A total inspiration!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼💯
I love your curiosity - that when seeing a train to Modi'in you immediately google Modi'in to find out what and where it is. 8:44-8:47 - the city cemetery. Isn't it "lovely" that it's the first thing people see when they reach Jerusalem? 🙃
All the Electronic Travel Authorization stuff that countries are now requiring before flying is such a hassle....especially for us non techy types. So nice to have the train now from the airport into Jerusalem.
It is the West Bank of the Jordan river. There is no Palestine river.
I think there is a bus service, but it runs from the bus station in East Jerusalem, and not the Western one, which you went to.
U should go to Damascus gate bus station and take bus 231 or 234. Price with a bus like 6 shekel. Price for taxi depend on trafic, but usualy it is from 70 up to 100 NIS. Head scarf is like 10 to 20 NIS😊
Virtually every airport and travel area everywhere seems like it is more modern than our U.S. facilities. I am struck at how third world our crappy airports are now, or at least the ones I have been to lately.............great intro vid, very educational for me. Lovin it.
I lived in the Arab world for four months and spent a week in Palestine. First of all, if you are still in Bethlehem make sure you visit the Walled Off Hotel. Also, to get to Ramallah from Jerusalem, you take the bus near the Damascus Gate to the Qalandia checkpoint. I’m sure your driver has informed you of all this by now…but just in case he hasn’t…And last but not least, I ran into some trouble traveling between cities; be careful with using shared vans. If you come across a checkpoint and you’re riding in the same van as someone who the IDF suspects for whatever reason, you can end up with a machine gun in your face. Jericho has a really interesting old church that is carved into a mountain: you might want to check that out. Safe travels. Enjoy.
Dude what are you talking about. Soldiers literally (according to IDF regulations) cannot point a gun at your head even if you're holding a knife or a gun and walking near them.
Machine gun in your face?
Why you lie?
Enjoy the places and sights you are going to. Stay safe.
Went to Bethlehem from JLM last year by bus. It's very easy, you just go to the East Jerusalem bus station outside Damascus gate and find the bus for Bethlehem. No checkpoint or anything going there, but on the way back, as I visited the separation wall after touring the old town and church, I was dropped off right nearby at the checkpoint. It was very quiet, there were 2 Palestinian women who I saw go through. I talked to them on the other side asking about the bus back to Jerusalem. They were students there so they had the proper ID to go through. I just showed my Canadian passport that I almost forgot to bring when I left my hotel.
Great, good to know.
Great vlog sir
Happy traveling in Israel/Palestine Gabriel ! You certainly have a great choice of climates ☀️ 👍
Looking forward to the next video.
❤ great cinematography thanks ❤ saludos
You can get a flight from Tel Aviv to Batumi, then to get to Mestia, Svaneti , take the bus from Batumi to Zugdidi, from Zugdidi there is a bus to Mestia. Mestia and Svaneti is incredible.
Hi Gabriel
Great video as always
If you're coming to Cyprus I suggest check out some beautiful mountain villages such as:
Kalopanagiotis
Agros
Kakopetria
You're going to love them
The title is a wrong one. It's not the West Bank of Palestine but the West Bank of Jordan.
Quite an experience , wonderful 👏😊
Great Vid Gabe 🎉 can’t wait for next one :)
I was just there, it was sweltering hot but amazing, enjoy!
just a tip - you really have to haggle for your prices
Was there last Sept., I took the bus. They dont check the bus going out of Jerusalem, but they did coming back into Jerusalem.
I really can understand the trouble you are taking to give us these wonderful trips. It costs you and we enjoy it at your expense. Take care of your health. Praying for you Gabriel.
Israel seems so beautiful, so much old world charm, and so much ancient history, no city has been fought over more than Jerusalem in the past 2000 years, and sadly, it still goes on. So densely populated with such a mixture of races, religions, and visitors, a place I'm definitely going in the future, maybe even this winter. Safe travels.
In the last 3,000 years, at least...
@@ahmedrakanrakan You better read a book and do not show your ignorance in public.
Awesome video mister 🤩
wow! cant wait to see West Bank. hard to get to
Not really.

Not at all!
About the bus situation. When I was in Jerusalem in 2019 I was baffled by the scarcity of the online information about busses from Jerusalem into the Palestinian cities. Everything changed when I started to look for web resources in Arabic. The bus station is located on Nablus street on the Arab side of the city close to Damascus gate. Palestinian buses are white with Palestinian white number plates and you buy the tickets onboard. They are intercity buses unlike the Jerusalem transit buses.
What a difference from Romania. Loved your video’s there, it was nice to follow your roadtrip.
Same here, that roadtrip was solid gold.
Interesting, so US citizens need a visa to enter Turkey? I know that British citizens (and likely others) used to need a visa, but you could get one on arrival. But that's no longer a requirement and we can now enter visa-free.
Funny that Israelis don't need a visa to visit Turkey but Americans do.
The headscarf cost in Israel about 25NIS, in Bet-Lehem it supposed to cost much MUCH less!
I'm happy you didn't fall for this
For anyone wondering how to do it with public transport, take the light rail In Jerusalem to Damascus gate, and there you can find buses to palestinian cities
Getting to the West Bank isn't difficult, try Palastinian Micro Beer. I forgot the name buts it's good.
This is a surprisingly pleasant place to visit...hotel looks great, what is it`s name and perhaps a link for that taxi-driver help him develop his business?
Wow this vlog got me rally interested, nice move there, especially going into Bethlehem, keep it up Mr Traveler!
excellent stuff
i went on a trip to israel last year and landed exactly one year ago today. so august 14 2022. amazing you landed there exactly one year to the date i was there.
Cool. 👍
Hi Gabriel, if you do go to Ramallah, make sure to check out the big EU funded Museum of Palestinian History. Beautiful marble walls and floors, but otherwise totally empty....
Check out usa funded Israel also wink
Why is it empty? And if it really is empty, then what's the point of having a museum?
@@NoamTheGOAT50it’s empty because there is no historical Palestinian identity. It all began with Amin Al Husseini and then Yasser Arafat. Before that, Arabs in the region considered themselves Syrian or Egyptian.
Palestinian history ????
BWAHAHAHAHAHA .....you have none before 67!

The term is "Judea and Samaria".

Beautiful... Look forward to your visit to Palestine
Hi Gab, actually there's a bus station before the Damascus gate Old City. I used that last year, I think its just 15 shekels.
Just FYI the Turkish visa can be bought on arrival very quickly. Didn't realize I needed the visa but customs pointed me to a short line, handed them my passport and got my visa for about $20 if I remember correctly. Was super easy and quick!
Good to know, I wasn't sure if the visa was still available on arrival since they introduced the evisa.
@@GabrielTravelerVideosyep, no line, super easy & quick. A U.S. passport holder here, but I believe it was $30 a few months ago in May
Amazing!! So interesting!!
You continue to move forward - well done.
Gabriel I am currently in Ramallah I hope I bump into you please visit Nablus it has an amazing old city vibe
Gabriel to Georgia in September. It will be better weather in the Mountains then. Basically no rainfall if you go to Mestia in Svaneti.
I like it. More extreme traveling.
There's nothing interesting to see in Ramallah. It's just a big city. Hebron & Jericho are ancient cities with a lot of historical sites - the Hasmonean Palaces near Jericho is one interesting site. Many foreign tourists don't go to the Golan & it's a shame because there are great historical sites there like Nimrod Castle & Banias Park.
I love Banias with the waterfall and the ancient ruins!
Thanks for the video
We were there in 2019 and had a wonderful time. Jerusalem is well worth the visit.
In the 70's it was very easy to travel to the DISPUTED AREAS. I traveled allover by bus. And it was very safe, compare to nowaday.
Looks cool, have to put on the list
Yes another vlog of Gabriel yay😊❤
So amazing love your videos
Thank you so much for making this video!
Gabriel, go to Jericho, world's oldest city?
Just discovered your travel channel and I like.
You got ripped off on the taxi to Bethlehem. The taxi should be 60 shekels, maybe 100 if heavy traffic - it's a 30 min. ride. Beware when the taxi driver says "confirm first, then I'll give you the price". They know the prices & should tell you up front. Unless it's rush hour (8am-10am or 4pm-6pm) it's best to use the meter (it's against the law for them to refuse to use it).
