Well, chalk this one up as INCREDIBLE. Thank you, Gabriel. One thing though, I always thought Jesus' birth was around 33 BC . As BC was a countdown to CE (AD), I thought Jesus died around 1 or 2 BC.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed. 1 AD is intended to be the year that Jesus was born, but it's generally agreed to be off by a few years. I've come across 4 BC as a likely year that he was born.
Gabriel- thanks for your guided tour of Palestine, the Nativity Church & King Herod’s fortress/palace. Absolutely riveting! I look forward to seeing your coverage of Jericho! Jenni (Sydney). 🦘🦘🦘🦘🦘🦘
Hebron, Bethlehem, Nazareth, Shechem (aka: Nablus) and even Jenin ("Ein Ganim") are *Hebrew cities* with a rich Jewish history of thousands of years (!!!). Wherever you dig in Judea and Samaria and Jerusalem you will find Jewish archeology. 😊🕎
If you stay in Israel, females are treated with respect. On the other hand, the opposite is true once you leave. You will need to cover up and stay off the streets at night.
It's hard for me to say but if you have any doubt then hiring a guide is probably a good idea. It's a good idea regardless since it's tricky getting around, there are checkpoints and it's hard to know what the protocol is in different places. Traveling with a local by taxi is a great way to go, but of course it isn't cheap. You can also do day trips from Israel into the West Bank and see a lot. Hopefully my videos will give an idea of what it's like and whether it's somewhere that people feel comfortable traveling. If it doesn't look like your place to be then don't go. It's certainly not for everyone.
Great video! You are very right in your tip about taxi tours. I kind of have the same experience not only in Israel but in other countries. I am really apprehensive when I come across that pushing behavior.
Great video Gabriel! I'm an Israeli who follows you for some time now and very much enjoying your content. just wanted to point out that the plane noise in the background of the video, these are in fact Israeli air force fighter jets. the skies of the near by Judean Desert is a main training area for them. Also, I would like to recommend you should visit another wonderful Herodian site - Caesarea, on the coast of the Mediterranean sea and on the middle of the road between Tel-Aviv and Haifa. it's really spectacular. enjoy your your stay and keep safe.

Spent five weeks in Jordan and Israel and it is amazing how one starts to become a believer of a higher power in these areas of the world. I was in Bethlehem before it became part of the West Bank.
You are correct. Christ was born in 3 BC as the Gregorian calendar is off. The timelines in the Bible and on the sign there of Herod are both correct. His birthdate was also not December 25th but that’s another story for another day.
Gabriel Traveler, you needed to read up on this site before touring. It was not a city, but the palace/ fortress of Herod the Great, and also his burial place, discovered in 2007,which you walked by but completely missed. It is also a man made mountain which would have been interesting to point out. Your experience would have been enhanced if you would have taken a few moments time to read, and you would not have so many inaccuracies in your monolog.
07:25 It is because Herod's death on 4BC is not certain. It is more like cca 4BC. Anno Domini (from Wikipedia) The Anno Domini dating system was devised in 525 by Dionysius Exiguus to enumerate years in his Easter table... It is not known how Dionysius established the year of Jesus's birth. Two major theories are that Dionysius based his calculation on the Gospel of Luke, which states that Jesus was "about thirty years old" shortly after "the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar", and hence subtracted thirty years from that date, or that Dionysius counted back 532 years from the first year of his new table.
There are some places in the world that had such an impact on human civilization, that forged the culture so deeply, that it shakes you to the core to be there. Palestine and Israel are among those places.
Hi Gabriel, fascinating day of traveling to King Herod Herodium the entire landscape is a biblical wonderland with thousands of years of history even today we look upon this land as a sacred ground for 3 of the major religions of the world (Christianity. Of all religions? First of all, Judaism is *not* a religion, it is an ethnicity. Secondly, there is *not* a single Jew in Judea and Samaria living under the Palestinian Authority. Because it is forbidden according to PA law. Jews are not allowed to live, work, buy land, visit, move around in the areas transferred to the Palestinian Authority following the Oslo Accords in 1995. And if a Jew accidentally enters these areas - he will be murdered or kidnapped (and then murdered). In just the last two days, 3 Jews were murdered in Judea and Samaria (so-called the West bank) by Islamist terrorists. 💔

The Herodiam can't really be classed as being in Palestine as it's in the Biblical territory of Yehuda (Judah) and is in area C which divide the West Bank into area's A, B and C, with Area C being under Israeli Military Authority since the Oslo Accords in 1993. Herodium is 758 meters (2,487 ft) above sea level. The site is in Area C of the West Bank, formally under the jurisdiction of the Israeli Civil Administration, a body of military officers, and in practice it is administered jointly with the Israel Nature and Parks Authority. If it was under Palestinian Authority Administration you might find pieces of it all over the black market and within the antique shops of Jerusalem's Old City as it is a site that reminds them of the Jewish history in the land.
Thank you for this response! 💖💙💜 By the way, only I think this clip was offensive, insulting and anti-Semitic. He simply took the rich history of the Jewish people in Judea and Samaria and threw it in the trash by giving a title as if he was in the Palestinian Authority, which is a different place than what you see on television. Although it is found in an archaeological site in Israeli Judea and Samaria.

"פלסטין" זה המצאה מהמאה האחרונה
אין שום אתר היסטורי של פלסטין אין שום מטבע פלסטיני אין שום מנהיג ואין שום דבר שמקשר את הפלסטינים לארץ ישראל. הם רק מהגרי עבודה ובדואים שנדדו במזרח התיכון
The term Palestine is an *European colonial* add on from the Romans that identifies a people the Philistines from ancient Greece *NOT* a people from the *Arabian Peninsula.*
The Arabs *rejected* the term Palestinian until 1967.
*"There is no such country as Palestine. 'Palestine' is a term the Zionists invented. There is no Palestine in the Bible. Our country was for centuries part of Syria. 'Palestine' is alien to us. It is the Zionists who introduced it".*
- Auni Bey Abdul-Hadi, Syrian Arab leader to British Peel Commission, 1937.
*"There is no such thing as Palestine in history, absolutely not".*
- Professor Philip Hitti, Arab historian, 1946.
*"It is common knowledge that Palestine is nothing but Southern Syria".*
- Representant of Saudi Arabia at the United Nations, 1956.
And after the *Six-Day War* the Arabs declared:
*"There are no differences between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. We are all part of one nation. It is only for political reasons that we carefully underline our Palestinian identity... yes, the existence of a separate Palestinian identity serves only tactical purposes. The founding of a Palestinian state is a new tool in the continuing battle against Israel".*
- Zuhair Muhsin, military commander of the PLO and member of the PLO Executive Council.
The Bar Kochba revolt took place in Judea. JUDEA!!! 🕎
How the so-called Palestinians related to this?
And how can "Palestine" be holy if it is *not* mentioned even once in the Holy books, The Hebrew Bible, the New Testament or the Koran?
Joseph and Gabriel, very apt names.
So nice with another video out to watch after work! I didn't go to Ramallah, so interesting.
always thinking, what a dry country.....stones, stones, nearly grass, bushes or trees. very interesting video, filled up with history, loved it. you must be a nice person, see it how you are acting with people, aggressive taxi drivers... you are more than ok ❤. be blessed!
Exellent.. Video.. Thanks very much Gabriel 👍👍👍

This channel is AWSOME👍
Was there in Oct 22, (Egypt, Israel and Jordan). Amazing trip, the boarder of Israel and Lebanon (touring the Rosh HaNikra Grottoes) the was interesting with the UN present.
Great vid. I will like to visit there someday
Absoloutely epic ,thank you
Slowly catching up with your videos...this is an amazing trip, love it! 👍
No better feeling and experience then goin too the HOLYLAND
Hi Gabriel, I'm following you for long time, located in Jerusalem. Will happy meet
So nice your Israel/Palestine videos love them like the Greek/Romanian. Reminds me of some parts in Greece.
This is *Ancient Shiloh,* a Jewish archaeological and heritage site located in Judea and Samaria, Israel. 😊🕎
The Ancient Shiloh site is identified with the biblical Shiloh, which was the religious and spiritual center of the *people of Israel* and the place where the *Ark of the Covenant* resided.
facineting im israeli its first time im seeing it enjoy your staying in israel
Well, chalk this one up as INCREDIBLE.
Thank you, Gabriel.
One thing though, I always thought Jesus' birth was around 33 BC . As BC was a countdown to CE (AD), I thought Jesus died around 1 or 2 BC.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed. 1 AD is intended to be the year that Jesus was born, but it's generally agreed to be off by a few years. I've come across 4 BC as a likely year that he was born.
Your intro gave me goosebumps!
This is one of your best series!!!Amazing.. Jesus is real , he lives today✝️ in my 💜!!
Stay safe✝️
What is your opinion on a solo female traveler visiting the area? Better to hire a local guide to also act as interpreter and companion for safety?
If you stay in Israel, females are treated with respect. On the other hand, the opposite is true once you leave. You will need to cover up and stay off the streets at night.
This is misleading and not correct
@@marygeorge2281 in what way is it incorrect?
It's hard for me to say but if you have any doubt then hiring a guide is probably a good idea. It's a good idea regardless since it's tricky getting around, there are checkpoints and it's hard to know what the protocol is in different places. Traveling with a local by taxi is a great way to go, but of course it isn't cheap. You can also do day trips from Israel into the West Bank and see a lot. Hopefully my videos will give an idea of what it's like and whether it's somewhere that people feel comfortable traveling. If it doesn't look like your place to be then don't go. It's certainly not for everyone.

I wish all my friends there they are save
Great video! You are very right in your tip about taxi tours. I kind of have the same experience not only in Israel but in other countries. I am really apprehensive when I come across that pushing behavior.
Don't worry it's okay just talking
The jet noise that you hear is military, not a tourist plane.
Brilliant ..
Wow, thank you for sharing!
You are welcome to visit! 😊🇮🇱💙
See the comment I pinned at the top clarifying about the planes. Caesarea looks epic, I'll think about going there.
its Palestine , how are you Israeli? Did you live there pre 1948? or come from another country ?
its the IOF air force jet , probably going to bomb kids in Gaza or Jenin Refugee camp to keep making way for more illegal settlements , like 300 already built in occupied Palestine

Gabriel, you are not in FAKEstine. You are on Jewish side of Judea and Samaria (ISRAEL!!) at a Jewish archaeological site (Bar Kochba Revolt, etc.) that is maintained and funded by Israel. Because the so-called Palestinians are systematically destroying Jewish archeology in the Holy Land, as happened in Joseph's tomb, the altar on Mount Ebal, the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, etc. Israel is responsible for (most) heritage sites in the Holy Land.
This is an insane site dude

Was there back in 2000 while in the Marine Corps. We ported in Haifa, did a two week field op with the IDF and then we had a week of liberty where I signed up to do a Christian Pilgrimage tour. I would love to get back there someday and explore more.
I just passed through Haifa on a bus an hour ago.
Salute to you my friend 🫡 . I was a heli pilot in Israeli Air force
Hey Gabriel - love your videos.
I’d love for you to do a Q and A sometime? Would be great to hear you answer a bunch of viewer questions in one of your videos.
I agree that's a good idea, it's been a while.
Spent five weeks in Jordan and Israel and it is amazing how one starts to become a believer of a higher power in these areas of the world. I was in Bethlehem before it became part of the West Bank.
I too visited Bethlehem as well as the Herodion, Jericho & Hebron before these places were under the Palestinian Authority’s control.
"Herodion is an ancient Jewish fortress and town."
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herodium
Another amazing video..your little flock of taxi drivers clearly think a lot about you.
07:25 It is because Herod's death on 4BC is not certain. It is more like cca 4BC.
Anno Domini (from Wikipedia)
The Anno Domini dating system was devised in 525 by Dionysius Exiguus to enumerate years in his Easter table...
Those were fighter jets you heard. They sounded like circling
Islam, Judaism) philosophers, and scholars of this area. There are untold stories that you may come across regarding how we still live our lives based on the chronicles that were written around this period.
I hope they can live peacefully with the Palestinians... The Palestinian people have the right to live in their own land.🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊
Du Affe schreibst das doch überall rein toleranten troll
Isn’t it just the opposite? Palestinians don’t even recognize Israel right to exist, and been at war since 1947.

Why is there not a single Jew in Judea and Samaria living under the Palestinian Authority?
No Planes !!!!
Constant buzzing of military planes in the background, but yeah, okay,
no planes apart from the odd commercial ones.
An unfinished thought there, I meant ones that were shooting missiles but then got distracted by the architecture. Hopefully the general point came across that it isn't a war zone all the time.
HI Gabriel
Lol
The great revolt… “I don’t know exactly what that is”
Bro you’re walking around Judaea.
The bar kokhva revolt were religious Jews refusing to helenize.
The Bar Kochba Revolt was the 3rd revolt against the Romans led by Simon Bar Kochba after Jerusalem had been destroyed & the Jews there expelled.
The sounds of planes its more like war planes patrolling the area, than commercial planes just passing by. Just thinking.
Plans in that area are only Israeli plans. Combat plans which are training there or helicopters.
My mum lives in England and her Gardener is literally the most quintessential English person that could possibly be. I was just sitting in the garden with him one day and he told me this
He went to Israel with his Jewish wife in 2000's and he was so taken back by it he became a converted Jew and did all that is required and now speaks the language perfectly and everything.. My Mum didn't even know. Now a relative of Piers Morgan bought the cottage and he does their garden and they will probably never know either lmao

I always wonder how long it would take to dig these cisterns and wells back in those times. The amount of manpower needed to dig and continually draw water is mind boggling.
What is this Jet planes noise overhead all the time?
It is amazing to see that despite all the hardships, the landgrab and war crimes committed against Palestinians, they have still kept their integrity and religious freedom for all religions there. Christian and Muslim places existing one next to each other, people living in peace & surviving together. Respect to Palestinian people of all faiths.

*Palestinian terrorism includes:*
* Shooting people at cafe or in a theatre.
* Blowing yourself upin a restaurant.
* Indicriminatly raining rockets on civilians.
* Stabbing pregnant women in the stomch.
* Murdering babies in their beds.
* Slitting throats of shoppers.
* Bombing buses & buildings.
* Driving cars & trucks into pedestrians.
* Setting fire to crops and animals.
* Entering a country by froce with itent to murder.
* Throwing molotov cocktails & projectiles.
* Inciting to maim & murder civilians.
* Rewarding murderers and their families.
* Rewriting history and falsifying facts.
And this is *only* a partial list.. 🥱
@GabrielTravelerVideos There was more than one Herod. There was Herod the Father and Herod the son, people often confuse the two.
Correct, see the comment I pinned at the top clarifying that.

Very nice.
Thank you for showcasing the History, waiting for the next part and what's the name of that movie as you mentioned in 14:47 ?
At 11:40 in the video I walked into a little movie theater above the amphitheater, which was playing a short movie about that ancient city.
Great video Gabriel. By the looks a lot of Roman and Byzantine (Greek) influence in the area. 😃👍
Yep, big-time.
By the way, only I think this clip was offensive, insulting and anti-Semitic. He simply took the rich history of the Jewish people in Judea and Samaria and threw it in the trash by giving a title as if he was in the Palestinian Authority, which is a different place than what you see on television. Although it is found in an archaeological site in Israeli Judea and Samaria.

very cool, about Herod died 4BC, So Jesus was born before that, maybe 7BC, the dates are a little messed, no big deal...enjoyed seeing Herod's stuff, thanks for posting so much
I think there's a lot of confusion between Herod and his son, Herod Antipas. Wikipedia didn't help me understand any better but I believe the latter was the worst of the two. He definitely was responsible for killing John the Baptist according to historical records.
Are you sure that's a commercial airplane, was above you for a long time?
