Fantastic Review! I researched cars for 6 months: Purchased my daughter a Loaded 2025 Chevy Equinox RS AWD for $41k, to go back to College. Absolutely the best money I've ever spent! The 2025 Checy Equinox is absolutely the best in this Class!
@AllStars2525 , No, I actually drove one Sunday to 10 or 11 Dealerships in the Chicago Land area and walked the lots in early August, found 3 Loaded Equinox Vehicles, and called them Monday morning. Today, you can call or walk the lots, yet, if you find a Loaded Equinox you'd better get it, they go fast!

In a reply below I mentioned that we purchased a 2025 Equinox RS with optional safety and convenience features (well worth the money) - compared pricing with Ford Escape and Equinox was less expensive. We had been a FORD family for DECADES. We've owned the Equinox for 5 weeks, just over 500 miles, and we're averaging 28.2 mpg (mixed driving). GREAT JOB on the video. It is an HONEST assessment of the Equinox RS. Indeed the RS DOES have enough 'punch' when needed, the ride is smooth, seating is great quality, and the interior is great. FYI , the Equinox is about 2" wider than Escape - it doesn't sound like much, but it makes a big difference. The HD cameras will blow you away as well - they are EXCELLENT. One side note - The Equinox DOES come with a SPARE TIRE; the Escape only comes with that silly tire repair kit. On the downside, the documentation you get with the Equinox is BARE BONES; you have to go ONLINE to get the full OWNERS manual, or you can BUY a hard copy for about $50.
@@cosettepotozniak7987 You spend $37,000 and Chevy doesn’t provide an owners manual? That’s sad. I was a Chevy and Ford person for years. But in 2022 we switched to the Honda CRV. We liked it so much we just bought a 2025 CRV Sport-L Hybrid. Honda out performs Chevy and Ford. It drives so much better.
I only complaint with RS trims is the excessive red. I'd prefer black on black, which would mean getting a fully loaded LT with the black package which would push it close to 40k.
They ditched the cool levers in the back to fold down the rear seats. Loved the equinox until the 1.5l was the only option. Better off stepping up to a Blazer.
Great Video as always . I will say this design is way better than the out going 2 slice toaster . Few things to mention a very disappointing new model refresh. GM always cuts back every year on items that mean a lot, once you own the vehicle . Rear seat release handles in the hatch these were taken away for no reason a cheap cost cut. Passive entry on the rear doors anyone with kids know how important hat is when your hands are full( push one button unlock all doors ) . No sound system BOSE is gone huge mistake anyone who has owned a GM vehicle that does not have BOSE sucks speakers blow on the regular . I wish you Creators doing Car reviews , would tell us the Plant / Country location the vehicles built. All Equinoxes and Terrains are Built in MEXICO for the USA Market GM Constantly cost cuts and charges more . Great design but will buyers buy it .
38,000 for a front wheel 175 horsepower 4 cylinder turbo compact SUV, how can you even try and make this sound good? Will the engine last over 100,000 Mi before any major mechanical issues, is it more expensive for maintenance and repair services compared to a normal naturally aspirated engine?
Thanks for this. I have a 2024 Blazer EV that I will be getting rid of, cannot stand the electric car anymore, but I love the technology and interior and this is very similar so I’ll be ordering one of these next week.
I was looking at the Traverse but don't feel like spending in that range. This seems like a good option to move away from my 2020 Nissan Rogue. BTW has anyone told you, you look like Chris Pratt.
Not impressed, we just traded our 2018 Chevrolet Equinox Premier AWD which we loved. We decided to go with a 2024 Toyota RAV4 Limited. The main reason is we didn't want to go with a new version until they had a year or two to get any unseen bugs out. I don't understand why GM quit putting the 2 or 2.5-liter engines in the Equinox.
Anyone know how to turn off the rear seat reminder? No kids in this family, just groceries. Also, is there a way to adjust the Google volume and the chime volume?
I've noticed that $1085 tech option gets you the very nice surround view camera and also the camera rear view mirror and universal garage door controls BUT every sticker I've seen says "universal opener not installed" and they credit $50. Does anyone know if LATER they will install the garage door opener part when it comes in? Or is the buyer just without it forever?
I read another review that said the universal control could be downloaded onto the infotainment screen, so you could control your garage doors by going into the screen, maybe that update will come in 2025 at no cost.
Honestly Chevy is where the best SUV’s are rn in the 2025 model year imo. From the Trax to the Tahoe it’s just a great redesign they’ve done. I will be buying an equinox RS in the coming months I just hope it’s reliable a few years from now
In order to get that horsepower and torque (which is nothing to write home about) you need to use premium gasoline which is a lot more expensive than regular unleaded. But unlike some turbos this car has no real power at all. And the mpg is nothing special. If Im going to pay for premium I’ll buy the Mazda CX5 turbo. Much more power.
Nice enough looking but overall I'm disappointed. 38K seems like a lot of coin for a FWD mid trim model with a lackluster 175 HP engine. The lack of interior color options screams of cost cutting on most trim levels. The CVT is also a disappointment. Why did they bother when last years old 6 speed auto got better combined and highway mileage. The 28 mpg highway rating means this is by far worst in class for fuel economy. The other issues I have are the lack of reclining and movable second row seats, the lack of a hybrid model and no optional performance option like Ford offers on the Edge and Bronco Sport! Chevy has some work to do here before they get me to even consider this. Then there is reliability which is not a GM strong point lately!
We've been a Ford family for DECADES. The test drive of the new Escape was underwhelming. The ride was OK, but the shifting (jerking) was awful. We researched the Equinox RS, drove it, then purchased it. The ride is just as good as our 2018 Escape - the 1.5 Turbo Boost has the same "punch" as our '18. What sealed the deal were the optional safety and convenience features (optional). Have had the Equinox for a month, very pleased; 28.2 mpg mixed driving. FYI - FORD does NOT provide a SPARE tire - only that goofy repair kit. Chevy also includes 8 years of OnStar SOS. What I did not like was that OnStar pushes their "connectivity" packages to utilize maps, ask questions, etc. We opted OUT.
I can't understand how they make a 175hp turbocharged V4 engine? All the Japanese power is over 200hp. So you'll think it's very fuel efficient, and it doesn't have power. Well, no, it's not comparable to the powertrains that have more power and better fuel economy. I like the design,
I looked at buying the 2025 Chevy Equinox RS, but changed my mind. We had a 2022 Honda CRV EX that we were trading in. The fuel mileage and horsepower for the Equinox changed my mind. We ended up buying a 2025 Honda CRV Sport-L Hybrid. And I’m so glad we did . Even our 2022 CRV got 27 mpg in city and 37mph on the highway. We’ve been averaging 41 mpg in the city with our CRV Hybrid. The Equinox gas mileage was bad.
No one cares stfu. I’m gonna continue to support small businesses and happily go pick up my Mexican food in my Equinox as well. You people need to get a life and fight REAL battles.
This is a joke vehicle for people who are a joke without being self aware that they are in fact, a joke. They might not be broke, but they are a joke and anyone in the know, knows they are a joke
