    Unless it's chucking it down I always drink my first cup of tea outside. If it's cold I wrap up in a blanket, have my bare feet on the grass, watching the birds wake up, it's the best way to start the day!

      Have my 1st cup of tea right after morning cold plunge and use it to aid in rewarming the body with no other heat source (even when freezing), life changing.

    one of the best health styles. moderate work over long periods, eating off the land, exposure to the sun and air.

      Totally. My neighbor is about to turn 90. He’s been farming his whole life. All day in the sun, barely eats. Drinks beer and smokes cigars. He had 3 types of cancer but won’t get chemo. He just keeps on ticking. And he’s got knees with a lot of spring in them. Unbelievable.

    Neither doctors nor my parents showed me to do this yet whenever I caught a viral infection, i would instinctively cover myself with serveral heavy blankets and sweat profusely for several hours. My fever would break and I was feeling well again by the following day.

    Interesting that Roger spoke about breaking a fever. When I was 6 I had a 105 fever and my very concerned mom had called the doctor to come to our home, (in those days the doctors came to your home) but in the mean time my grandmother stood beside me on the side of my bed and she said, "Put as many blankets as you can over you and leave them on for 30 minutes." Then my grandmother was gone. I did that and after about 30 minutes I threw the blankets off and my sheets were soaked. My nose started bleeding a little, I suppose because of the tempeature difference? Anyway the doctor arrived shortly after and as he was coming up the stairs to my room I heard him suggest sticking me in a cold bath. I thought that was crazy as my grandmother said to make myself hot. Anyway, both were surprised that I no longer had a fever. When the doctor asked what I did I told him what my grandmother said to do. My mom said, 'Honey, your grandmother lives an hour away and she was never here." I since believe that we hold such wisdom and our higher-self will tell us what to do if we just listen. My grandmother was someone I trusted so my higher-self showed me her image.

    The last time I woke up to daylight was about 1973. I worked in factories for 52 years. I got up at between 2:15am and 4:00am every morning. Most of the it was still dark when I arrived at work. Been retired for 5 years. Go to sleep when I'm tired ,(about 10pm) and wake up on my own at about 5am. I would LOVE to wake up to daylight.

    My experience with morning sunlight exposure is consistent with what is being said here. Very dark, cool bedroom puts the icing on the cake.

      You’re right. I was referring to the stock market but willing to try out other financial market. Made gains from Nvidia last year and got my eyes on Solana. How do you trade?

      Good picks. Nvidia was superb last year. I trade based on the season of the market. It gives me a direction on implementing the right strategies for long or short term. I also trade based on the volatility of the market. Although it wasn’t easy till I came across a mentor who helped to keep me in the market loop. My mentor is Bernard Paul.

    Hospitals don't get me started I just got out after having a hemogenic stroke and when I was in the ER by myself there was an overhead light on the side that I had the stroke that was the brightest light I have ever been subjected to for probably an hour before someone came in and asked me if I wanted the lights dimmed it gave me a splitting headache

    Meat? Depends on what the animal was eating, where, how it was raised and when it was slaughtered. I've never had an allergy to meat when I lived in Africa. After about 5 years of eating store-bought meat in the UK, I developed an autoimmune problem, even though the UK takes utmost care when it comes to food trade. I found an independent butcher who told me about the same-day slaughter of free-range grass-fed organic Welsh meat that usually grows on hills in Wales in high altitude. I tried it. It didn't have the same full flavour of regular meat but my medical problem vanished. I also had to eat lots of raw vegs to reduce the toxic load of that meat as well. I no longer swell up and feel weird after eating meat. I read the science behind free-range grass fed lamb/sheep grown on high altitudes, or in sunny countries. They're higher in omegas. Not sure if regular meat has any omegas at all. One thing I noticed for sure. Store bought meat has whitish fat. The other meat that I bought has bright deep orange fat, just like meat in Africa.

      One correction. Uk does not take care about food trade lol. They are poisoning their own. I am here 13 years. No wonder uk is the fattest country in Europe. Meat is full of chemicals and antibiotics. Even so called ‘organic’ here is questionable

    I must try to improve my sleep it's absolutely shocking, never been the same since hitting menopause. It's difficult, I this and turn, hurt and ache and am still working full time, just turned 64. Don't know if it's menopause but I've never been so sore all over, so tired.

      Body identical HRT. Highly recommend along with no caffeine after 9am, going to bed at the same time and getting up at the same time. Magnesium for ache’s although HRT will help with that

    Hello what do you think of someone over 55 working first shift getting up at 330 am to start work at 5 eight hours obviously not enough sleep so is this bad for health?

      Yes very bad 3:30 is extremely early. 4:30 am the earliest. Most important sleep to from 10 pm to 5 am

    When I was young, meat smelled different. Nowadays it smells sour. When my mom got sick her body odor became sour which makes me believe that the animals that they are feeding us may be all sick...just saying...

      So sorry. I take a nice hot bath before bed. When I was working I would actually take a hot bath before my night shift because it relax me so much I could go into my second 8-hour job feeling better after my first shift.

    Whole Foods. Food that comes in a box is not food. It’s chemicals and salt. Eat Whole Foods. Food fresh with colors and comes from the ground and trees and bushes. Berries are great. Melons and apples. These do have sugar but it’s not a chemical sugar. As far as meat is concerned it should be grass fed meats. I stay away from condiments. They are just sugar. I don’t eat breads. I do eat brown rice and wild rice. Carbs are fine as long as they are complex carbs. I only eat rice once a week. I also walk four miles a day. I’m sixty nine years old. I am not on any medication for anything. I plan on staying that way.

    The start of this interview, with Roger in the blue shirt is a repeat, hence the. Instant refs to C 19. When he wears the brown shirt, it is more current. There is a constant back and forth between an older interview and new one. Same for Rangan, who wears a black shirt in the earlier interview and a light grey shirt in the newer one.
    This should have been mentioned in the notes because it makes Roger look “behind the times.” He is far from this and it is a little unfair to him and his credibility.

    You didn't say how keto was four times the risk... You said people with diabetes and who were sick were the ones who were on the edge. What makes you diabetic carbs and sugar so you don't make any sense.

    I don't understand why this man is so preoccupied with C19! A disease for which the average age of death is over 82 years. Of course, I realise that for some people this information would be useful, but I still don't understand the focus on that one ailment. Perhaps it's because he's American? The only time I think of C19 is when I think of the draconian and ineffective response that ruined many lives, mainly the lives of the young, and the economy.
    I also want to thank Dr Chatterjee for his frank responses and counter-opinion, especially in regard to red meat. I hardly eat any, so this is not a vested interest. I believe Roger Seheult was making some quite generalized assumptions. and I'm very glad that Dr Chatterjee had the integrity to add some comments of his own.
    All in all, though, a very interesting conversation; thank you!

      This is surely a repeat. Going on about C 19 is a tip off. No health advocates comment on C 19 any more. We have moved on. At the start, Roger is also wearing the same shirt that he wore years ago. The shirt then becomes brown so likely this is a repeat followed by something more current.

      I agree, in addition I am surprised that dr Roger claims that low carb diet increased risk of C19 4times. From my experience and other people it is other way round

    yeah ..no .... the "affordability" of vitmain D and slightly better food is not the main issue.
    a healthier LIFESTYLE is the issue. the compound stresses of a life in poverty and paycheck-to-paycheck survival.
    most of us are in the capitlaisthellscape of working just to live.
    people need TIME to have a healthy life.
    along with appropriate stressors.
    let's get prescriptions for:
    universal healthcare (including preemptive care)
    significant annual leave
    regulations on crapfood / subsidies for healthy food
    reduced work weeks / work hours
    restored natural lands and care for nature (bring back the CCC )

      YES to all of this! Some tiny number of international corporations control the food supply. I think it’s like, 6? They control the cost of food, and the kinds of foods we find in the grocery stores. The more addictive they can make it, the cheaper it is to make and the longer it can sit on the shelves, the better the profits. That’s all they care about. Unfettered capitalism is ruining us.

It is a relatively new subspecialty of Internal Medicine that integrates the usual “keeping people alive” silos of American Medicine in order to focus on the whole patient and family-as opposed to focusing on just body parts and physiological systems. Palliative medicine helps patients and family members make solid decisions about medical and nonmedical interventions to improve quality of life of the PATIENT as a PERSON. They work with people with complex diagnoses who might have a long time to live yet. They also work hand in hand with hospice to help patients and families plan for how to approach end-of-life by giving solid information about what their options are when quality of life is no longer achievable.

    Extremely healthy person here. My metabolic panels are GREAT! Didn’t used to be, but now I eat red meat. Lamb, pork and beef. Mostly organic, grassfed when I can find it. (Yes, it’s expensive!) I also eat SMASH fish and poultry eggs and beans. Protein is a 1/4 of a plate at any given meal. 3/4 of any plate, though are vegetables. Kale, broccoli, celery, carrots, spinach, etc. I eat TONS of vegetables-mostly nonstarchy. I also snack on cheese, nuts, seeds, pickles. My diet is wildly varied, and based on real food. What I DON’T eat? Ultraprocessed food-like substances. I don’t eat wheat. I eat fruits with a healthy fat, and I avoid high fructose fruits (like mangoes, pineapples). Okay, I admit, Once a month, I’ll have a dessert (a scoop of ice cream/a brownie). I learned how to eat this way at the Cleveland Clinic Center for Functional Medicine. ALL of my bloodwork greatly improved. Without even trying, I lost 70 pounds, and kept it off for five years now. The healthy weight is a side effect of eating right. Never been healthier. Didn’t know I could feel this good. I’m 63.

    He confused night owls with problems of the modern world. We're all wired differently. I'm not a morning person. I have difficulty falling asleep before 11 pm. It doesn't matter if technology is involved. Between 10 am and 7 pm, I am very energized.

    Compared to most of the guests that are on the podcast I personally found this guy to be not as credible and contradictory in many areas to what most experts tend to agree with. Just my take. I did have some positive takeaways, as always, with all of Dr Chatterjee’s podcasts.

    I’ve been a carnivore for a couple of years now and according to what they say I should be dead from eating red meat by now but I actually never felt better so in my opinion the part about red meat is bs. Sorry but there are so many of us who healed using unprocessed red meat diet. I’d be careful stigmatising what seems to be a miracle food

    I totally agree with the comments about meat. I eat a lot of meat. I measure my proteins. I don't eat seed oils. I eat low carb. I eat loads of veggies . All my food is home made and whole. " Meat" is not the problem with poor health...it's sugars, artificial stuff, cheap carbs, processed this and that. I'd say the speakers comments on diet are way off. There's many online presentations in this topic now. He holds those old fashioned beliefs that totally skip what the neat is eaten with, it's quality and other food being consumed.

      Meat shortens lifespan through a specific triad of amino acids: methionine, cysteine, and thiamine. These promote mTOR. Plant amino acids don't. Meat has no polyphenols, fibre, or vitamin C. 99.9% of meat, ie. all meat that's not grass-finished, contains antibiotics and growth hormones.

      @@doctork1708 ...and hundreds supporting opposite .Do plant based perfectly , then you are probably onto a winner...but most do not. Processed veggie burgers, bread, GM soy, lack of protein, lack of calcium, lack of vitamin B, D etc. This is common for people who don't eat meat but actually don't eat healthy at all. Happened to a friend of mine who in fact got all sorts of digestive issues and was totally lacking in immunity. I'm rarely sick and didn't even get covid. Your lack of nuance suggests the one "not knowing what he/she is talking about" sounds more like you. There are plenty of channels discussing this topic, including this channel where my very points have been discussed by experts
