  • Mission 778X Integrated amplifier A trip down memory lane.... Join me as I discuss this wonderful little entry-level amplifier from Mission. The Mission 778X integrated amplifier ... It's stirred some nostalgic feelings in me. Personally, I think it's great value for money, well worth an audition in the sub £750 integrated amplifier market. Come in and take a listen.

    I read somewhere this is internally essentially an Audiolab 6000.
    No bad thing given the claimed ease of driving speakers for a 45 wpc
    Another leading vlog stated that the Audiolab 7000 is now their entry level model in place of the 6000

    What speakers might be a good match for this amp? Any recommendations?

    Mission 778X, Cyrus One, Quad Vena 2/Play, Rega Brio, Edwards Audio IA5/2 are all very similar in size and power.

      Do you reckon they're all the same unit reboxed?

      @@Studioincar ha, no, but it's a seedy business that's for sure. Would you spend £3K on a mains cable? A lot of these Hifi companies operate in Huntingdon - make of that what you will.

      How do you find the Quad Vena II? Are they generally unreliable?

    • @MissMan666
      @MissMan666 9 месяцев назад

      @@Whenallwozkool Sound quality wise, the Quad Vena II has been one of the best I've owned.
      Reliability, no i don't trust it to last. It's already been repaired one time, and im seeing multiple others having the same repairs done, over and over.
      It is also quite sensitive to having my phone near it, it gives off these small cracking noises ever so slightly if my phone is within 30-40cm of it, just something to be aware of.
      One other small annoyance is that the volume knob always goes down 25% when ever you power it on, so on power on id have to wait for volume to go down and then re adjust it, gets annoying in the long run..who ever thought that was a good idea. Besides that, as mentioned, the sound is very, very good. Clean, powerful and just well sounding.

    Can I plug my Samsung Frame TV as a source into this as I prefer not buying a sound bar?

    • @ZabbleYabble
      @ZabbleYabble 10 месяцев назад +1

      Yes. Optical connection from your One Connect box into the optical input on the Mission amp…then just select the optical input on the amp and change your tv receiver input to optical and you are done. Keep in mind you need to use the amps volume when using the optical output on the tv.
