Just a few days shy of 41 myself been playing games since I was 5 and I agree whole heartedly with this video much like others on here Elden Ring reminded me why I like games and I ended up buying the Dark souls trilogy because of it
How in the actual heck has it been one WHOLE YEAR since the game released i felt like 1 week ago got it and put it on with bros and sis and started playing it. Its scary but mind blowing in the same time
I'm 37 now and feel the same way. Never thought I would feel the same feeling of immersion, exploration, and awe as I did as a teenager - with games like Shadow of the Colossus or Halo or Half-life 2. Just thought I got older and more jaded, and video games could no longer surprise or excite me as they did in my youth. Elden Ring was an experience I might not ever have again.
I Know Exactly How You Feel. After The Enix Trilogy Then Came The Legacy Of Kain Series. Not Until 3 Years Ago That I Was Introduced To Dark Souls III, Did I Just Find Myself Immersed In The Gameplay, The Story & Everytjing Inbetween. And From There I Was Able To Perpare For This Epic & Influential Gaming Experience. Thank You Elden Ring.🥰
We will. just stay alive. Lls. Like the Witcher 3, Elden Ring raised the bar and showed that u don't need so much narrative. Makes u search for answers perfectly
I feel like Elden Ring lore is impossible to totally grasp, it almost seem like the more you dig and try to find the whole picture, the bigger the picture gets, like for everything that can be understood it opens up 5 things that can’t be understood…which is mind blowing a video game can be that deep; also yeah going back and playing like demon souls after this is REALLY tough lol
Very true credit goes to the creator making up ALL of this lore like imagine we probably know like only 40% of the full lore in the game which is crazy
Thats how it is with dark souls no ? Well i can be wrong but im almost sure that the lore wasn’t 100% discovered, i think there is few parts that we don’t really know yet and i think with bloodborne is the same, again i can be wrong, but you’re right, i think elden ring will be the one with most parts “missing” even when they finished with the game.
Yep, the size of the soulsborne universe is way larger than it seems. We only experience a small portion of it for gameplay/time balance. If we could experience Dark Souls or Elden Ring before they had their apocalypses, like we do with Skyrim or Fallout, they would be the longest games ever.
I started playing Elden ring in may and the dlc dropped in June. It’s been a blast to say the least now I’m doing a second play through with no summons.
Man, these cinematic landscape shots are just perfect. Even some of the smallest and seemingly insignificant areas of The Lands Between can grace our vision.
I feel the same way, man. I'm almost 40 and I felt like a kid again! I've beaten the game 8 times now and I'm already planning my next play through lol. And I'm totally hyped for Armored Core.
Elden Ring was my first Fromsoft game. It was difficult at first but I quickly got the hang of it. As for DLC, more stuff about Miquella and Malenia would be cool.
I completely have no idea about anything that goes on in the story, and i was still in awe at everything. The character designs, the art style, the world building, even just how they talk in the game like we did centuries ago with this elegance about them. All of it was breathtaking
I was really hoping a DLC trailer today but with low expectations, honestly i wont be waiting for one after today, i know they are working in something but they will release it when its ready. The game is already massive and i play it every day even after a year.
My favorite video game of all time. Also my first FromSoft game and it was so good that I bought DeS, DS, DS2, DS3, Bloodborne, and Sekiro. Can’t wait to beat all of those lol
you’re definitely right about moghwyn and haligtree feeling like dlc, especially with the miquella connection in the stories like in the ds3 dlc connected characters. though i would definitely like a miquella focused dlc
I agree on the fact that the game is essentially complete. Would DLC on Godwyn, Miquella, or time travel be nice? Definitely. But then again, look at everything they gave us. Siofra, Ainsel, Deeproot, Mohgwyn Palace, Nokron, Nokstella, and even Volcano Manor all feel like they could possibly be DLC areas, but they're all included in a $60 game. Any future DLC for the game would have to be MASSIVE and time-consuming, considering all the content in the base game. I'm starting to think the time would better be spent on potential sequel rather than a DLC...
It's coming. They made too much money in this one year to not capitalize on it. We just gotta be patient. It might not come out until after AC6. I hope not but it is what it is
Not really, a DLC could just be the size of a legacy area with some open world environments around, just like every other DLC so far. How long have DLCs taken to beat in the past, 5 hours? 8 hours? Open world sections compared to legacy areas probably don't take much effort to create and they account for a lot of time spent in the game- so I think they could reasonably reach their past levels of DLC to play through if not surpass it. Sequel would be great but DLCs allow them to have fun with really small and unique places we normally wouldn't get to explore, plus the bosses are always the best.
Elden Ring truly is top tier and that’s coming from someone who was pretty sceptical going in but ending up getting the platinum and still going back for fun PVP duels or trying a new build
Love your videos! I’d enjoy small (15-30 minute) review or first impression vids. Kind of like your smaller lore hunting videos that were based off the larger streams for Elden Ring. Lots of great games coming out right about now, especially RPGs if you’re into those (of which Elden Ring technically is one). It’s been great to see this channel grow and see you become more confident. Not gonna lie…never finished Elden Ring but have been a huge fan of channels like yours covering the lore and watching others gameplay.
Elden Ring was my first Souls-like game and I'm obsessed with the lore of it. Perhaps not how it's told, but we have youtube to explain it all. It's just such a gripping tale that I'm craving more. Can't wait for the DLC.
This game has been a way to pass my time while deployed but has also introduced me to a wonder community that I love most of the time. Keep it up Jake, I’ll be there even if you don’t see me in the streams. 10/10 game of the year. Needs more cowbell.
Haven't played a game as much as I have Elden ring since I was in high school. I was getting of work and playing a minimum 3 hours and them more on top of that on the weekends. Best game I've played in a while. I was enthralled with every aspect thank you for diving into the lore. This game made me feel like a kid again, it was nice to get lost in this world. I totally agree with you about regaining a love lost for gaming. Keep it up, Jake!
+250h playtime and now I've completed 1st journey and beaten every boss, done every quest. Not beaten just Malenia, but also those god damn Runebears in the secret snow area leading up to her.
I also just turned 27, and I gotta say, I can't agree more with your opening monologue. The gaming industry has been in a massive decline lately, with unfinished games being released by greedy companies and I never thought I'd be able to feel the same passion I had for gaming. Elden Ring has ignited it, and it burns bright and strong even 1 year later. This game is something else, and I honestly can't wait for the DLC. I just wanna keep creating more Elden Ring videos and concentrate on this game as much as possible. I'm fully immersed 💯
My own life has been a brutal challenge un the past few years and ER kinda perfeclty vibed with that. It made the afk challenges a bit more fun and positive.
my #1 game of all time Gonna be starting a job within the next few months, might have to give up gaming or only play occasionally. So glad I got to experience Elden Ring in full, good games will release in the future, but ER is the best we’re gonna get for a long time
I totally feel you! I’m 30 and the feeling I got from this was unlike anything I’ve experienced in years!! It’s funny cause a friend kind of forced me to buy it so we could coop and I didn’t think I’d like it, cause that’s what happened with souls 3, and then after this game I went and played all of fromsofts game!
Honestly, make modding easier and let the fanbase do their thing - then I'd be okay with no DLC (which I am anyway, but it would be a shame). Imagine what the fans could do?! Elder Scrolls modding is on such another level, and I think Elden Ring could be such a perfect candidate for it. I just find it a bit too convoluted at the moment, combining multiple mods is unnecessarily difficult. But besides that, what a masterpiece. What a game. And it got me to try Bloodborne which I *just* finished a day ago, and wow... insane. Two of the best games I've ever played in my life. Thanks Jake, for all your content, time and effort. We appreciate it and you truly have created your own sphere within this realm. It's an absolute Joy (see what I did there) to be a part of it. Much love man!
I just hit my 30's and I gave up on most gaming. But then q game like Elden Ring comes out and it stands out like the Erdtree in the Land Between. Really wish more games got the time and effort this game did. It oozes with passion and care. Also, love your lore videos. Happy the channel is doing well!
I remember seeing elden ring on youtube not knowing or truelly understanding what the hype was all about but my God im so happy i gave this game a chance without a doubt i have zero regreats on buying this game🙏🏼🙌🏼
Elden Ring is an amazing game. A masterpiece imo. Only one other game stands on the level that Elden Ring is at imo. I hope that they release the DLC but I'm happy with Elden Ring as it is. It is an amazing game that had a massive impact on the gaming landscape as a whole. And more games should strive to be like Elden Ring. If you're looking for more games to play the one i would recommend the most is Hollow Knight. This is the aforementioned game is was talking about that stands up their with Elden Ring as masterpieces. I hope you have a wonderful time making content on what you want to do I can't wait to watch your videos on Elden Ring DLC when it inevitably comes out.
My only complaint for ER: WAY to big for me.I love everything about this game, but the more i played, the more opens up. To many secrets, to many paths, so much content...when i realised how big it is i got so focused on not missing anything and i got burned. Really burned. Maybe i will try it again in the future.Nice vid 🥂
One of the best games I've ever played, hands down. This gave me exactly what I was looking for: a pallette cleanser of sorts for gaming. I'll always remember this game. In my opinion, it was just about flawless. It's hard not to compare all the games I've played since to it, but I just have to remind myself that not every game can be Elden Ring.
Going on 27 and have the same feelings you did jake. Since oblivion I didn't think I would be so heavily invested in a video game again. Well done elden ring 🙂
A DLC will come because 1. Every Fromsoft-soulslike-Game got a DLC 2. The Last demigod is still missing 3. There are already DLC-Preparations in the Last Patches
theres not gonna be anything.. 1. sekiro dont have dlc 2. the 6th archstone in demons souls still missing 3. that can be data they just left there.. no reason to seek and erase everthing... im just trying to wake people up from the dlc hype dream...
I played this game all the way through and then wanted to wait to play it again so that I could re experience it having had time to miss it. I made it one day before starting a new game
Good video! I'm one of 11.9%? :) But crazy is the fact, that it means one of two and half million! They are still working on the game and it would be something absolutely special if they bring the DLC more than a year (maybe two) after release! I don't know and I would be surprised, but sometimes I like surprises...
I won’t ever try to flesh it out but the Hebrew idea of Tzimtzum I think is embedded in the lore. Kinda. If anyone’s interested, look up zimzum in Hebrew and the idea of existing outside of time and also why aren’t there any clocks in the lands betwixt. Did they keep time or did time even exist? The seasons don’t change, but the sun cycles. Also, why was Ranni the only one to be able to move her soul to another body? When did Radagon become Marika? Anyway, where’s my coffee?….
The reason why I believe they absolutely HAVE TO make a DLC is, although there's so much content already packed in, there's also much wasted potential in this game. For example the end boss Radagon/Eldenbeast was highly unsatisfying for me, compared to other great bosses like Morgott or others, and the doors they already opened with the lore. It feels unfinished to me.
I just got the game a month ago. I have 394 hours clocked in now and I'm only in newgame + 😅 no I don't leave my character logged in. Sometimes I do leave the title screen up to listen to the music when I sleep though
I thought they had something bigger planned for the last update but it wasn't ready for release. I can't remember who but someone on Twitter was saying something to the effect that something happened they can't talk about it now but will when all the support is shelved...
So crazy coincidence: I just so happen to beat the game today and it’s the one year anniversary…didn’t even realize it till I saw this video. (I didn’t buy it on release btw…)
I feel like Elden Ring doesn't need a DLC in the same way Dark Souls 1 didn't need a DLC or sequel. I don't know if you also were trying to say Elden Ring doesn't need a sequel, but I have seen people say that which I sort of disagree with. I feel like it would be kind of tiring to have to get attached to yet another IP that is just another dark fantasy with ancient dragons, evil gods, and "chosen ones" who can infinitely revive. I don't know about others, but I need another Dark Souls type IP with many DLCs and sequels to build onto the world. Or at least if they're going to do another IP, I don't think I would be interested in a medieval dark fantasy setting at all. It'd have to be something more unique like Bloodborne or Sekiro, except something different from the two we already have. I think they have stuff planned for an Elden Ring DLC but they just aren't ready time/development wise. They were probably still finishing Elden Ring right up to release and it seems like they've been trying to complete unfinished parts of the game to release to us as free patches and updates. That would make them behind schedule in terms of completing the DLC. Of course, no one actually knows the truth of the matter, but it just would seem weird to me that they make this whole new IP and wouldn't plan for DLC or sequels.
I think there will be a single DLC and they will be done with the game, just like bloodborne or sekiro, i just don’t lift hopes for sequels of fromsoftware games anymore and you’re right, elden ring don’t need a sequel, the story is mostly closed with big holes on it, that a DLC can fill ( some of them anyway ).
I'm sorry man but i had not enough of this game. There are a lot of mysteries like who are the outer gods, i want to save miquella and malenia, i want to know more about crucible and helphen steeple, about Ranni and Ainsel, the fairy dancer!
Odd question, but what are your screen/monitor and in-game visual settings? Your gameplay of Elden Ring looks STUNNING! Also, yeah, Elden Ring both met and surpassed the hype.
How they were not prepared for the success of this game 😭, a beautiful experience is the least I can say. Although at some point I was playing it for like a week non stop ( was getting closer to the end) and I burned myself mentally to the point of not feeling great about the last boss. Still personally I liked if Godfrey was still the final boss, but whatever. That lord of frenzied flame ending was worth it 😂😂
I agree that the game doesn’t need DLC and that it stands on its own easily. However there absolutely will be DLC and obviously it is going to be a masterpiece. This game is in my top 5 games of all time and this DLC will seal the deal for me that this is the greatest game ever
No game can achieve half the shitiness of Elden Ring. Lack of originality, a lot of copied garbage from past games, secondary, terrible PvP without covenants, lack of fashionable armor, frankly hacky fights with bosses, too strong ashes of summoning and OP status effects. This is not only the worst game From Software (probably better than DS2 and DeS), but also one of the most boring, boring and soulless games I've played.
They need to add the armor sound back in their games. Plus they need to add different mounts like the tree sentinel mount. I wouldn't say this game is a master piece. Bloodborne and dark souls 1 takes that throne due to the story.
C'mon man! They can't just leave miquella's cocoon in the moghwyn palace, have Gideon say "welp hope he doesn't wake up then" and just leave it like that! I need to know more!
I felt the same about elden ring, going to other games just always felt disappointing in comparison to elden ring. I played hollow knight for the first time a few weeks ago, and it’s the only game since elden ring that has given me the itch - the same feeling I had with elden ring. If you haven’t played it already, I highly highly recommend it. Plus, if you do end up liking it, the second game of hollow knight, silksong, will be coming out really soon, so it gives you another game to be hyped about, which is a much missed feeling these last few years!
Old... I'm starring down the line at 50 and Jake is complaining about feeling old already lmao. I get it though. It's been a hell of a run watch video games go from Space Invaders and Asteroids on Atari all the way to games like Elden Ring. Time seems to slide faster through the fingers every year. It feels like I just started playing Elden Ring and it's easy to forget the thousands of hours and all the different characters I've run through the gauntlet. Here is hoping we get some DLC this year.
This Game has literally changed my life and I'm so glad I played it

In my opinion, it was just about flawless. It's hard not to compare all the games I've played since to it, but I just have to remind myself that not every game can be Elden Ring.
THE GAME JUST ANNIUNCED DLC, "SHADOW OF THE ERDTREE." LOOK, YOUNG MIQUELLA IS RIDING TORRENT!!!
Going on 27 and have the same feelings you did jake. Since oblivion I didn't think I would be so heavily invested in a video game again. Well done elden ring 🙂
Elden rings gameplay with the Witcher 3s storytelling style would be exactly what I need out of a game
A DLC will come because
1. Every Fromsoft-soulslike-Game got a DLC
2. The Last demigod is still missing
3. There are already DLC-Preparations in the Last Patches
theres not gonna be anything..
1. sekiro dont have dlc
2. the 6th archstone in demons souls still missing
3. that can be data they just left there.. no reason to seek and erase everthing...
im just trying to wake people up from the dlc hype dream...
@@GonK90 well I mean that’s what they said about elden ring when they went silent for 2 years
Elden Ring DLC will be here in late August or early September.
I need to beat this game. I told myself I would beat this game before I'd buy any other game and I've kept my promise so far.
I played this game all the way through and then wanted to wait to play it again so that I could re experience it having had time to miss it. I made it one day before starting a new game
can't wait to see whatever you transition too fam.
Love your content.
I've been looking forward to Armored Core as a lover of anything mech. You and the footage def convinced me to give Elden Ring a shot.
elden ring is still selling like crazy even 1 year later
SHADOW OF THE ERDTREE DLC AUUUUU
SHADOW OF THE ERD TREE RAAAAAH I HELF OUT FAITH
@@seanhill8418 LETS GOOOO MIQULLA GO BRRR!!! Also torrent
Good video! I'm one of 11.9%? :) But crazy is the fact, that it means one of two and half million!
They are still working on the game and it would be something absolutely special if they bring the DLC more than a year (maybe two) after release! I don't know and I would be surprised, but sometimes I like surprises...
it might just be my favorite game of all time
1:50 and then they announced the dlc 4 days later
Play Elden Ring Reforged. You'll never be able to go back to base Elden Ring.
Fromsoftware and Capcom are two developers what I would not afraid to buy preorder.
I’m in the 40% keep on going my friend
I’m gettin up there in age , I’m 28.. I about fell down 😂 I feel ya brother I feel ya I’ll be 39 in 10 days. Gettin up there
I just got the game a month ago.
I'm out of town and I didn't bring my controller. Ugghhh!
Elden Ring is like the loyal girlfriend you’d never want to cheat on and feel underwhelmed by anyone else. Video game-wise
@@TheAuspiciousGoldmask True but keep in mind that every DLC only introduces more holes to be filled in.
I'm sorry man but i had not enough of this game. There are a lot of mysteries like who are the outer gods, i want to save miquella and malenia, i want to know more about crucible and helphen steeple, about Ranni and Ainsel, the fairy dancer!
No, no DLC. Elden Ring 2 or some such would be awesome. I’d give up the DLC for a second game in a year or two.
Armored Core vet here and I can say for certain AC6 is my number 1 this year.
Odd question, but what are your screen/monitor and in-game visual settings? Your gameplay of Elden Ring looks STUNNING! Also, yeah, Elden Ring both met and surpassed the hype.
Jesus Christ i played this game for a year, i can barely belive it.
“You know I’m getting up there in age..” (someone who is 31, about to be 32.”
The push for dlc is because they have a reputation for dlc but sekiro and elden ring haven’t got no dlc
"im getting up there in age... Im almost 28"
Had to pause there and think for a min cuz im 28
I want Fromsoftware to do a Gundam Wing game
Just bought the game today. playing it for the first time when it downloads. any tips?
How they were not prepared for the success of this game 😭, a beautiful experience is the least I can say. Although at some point I was playing it for like a week non stop ( was getting closer to the end) and I burned myself mentally to the point of not feeling great about the last boss. Still personally I liked if Godfrey was still the final boss, but whatever. That lord of frenzied flame ending was worth it 😂😂
Thoughts on trying FromSoft’s Déraciné? Is the only recent game that I haven’t played and the only reason is the lack of a PlayStation VR.
I agree that the game doesn’t need DLC and that it stands on its own easily. However there absolutely will be DLC and obviously it is going to be a masterpiece. This game is in my top 5 games of all time and this DLC will seal the deal for me that this is the greatest game ever
I don't want a DLC more so than I want the cut content, especially the Age of Absolute ending.
hey jake, love your chanel, i would really like to see u play other fromsoftware games and talk about their lore too
I played ELDEN RING for more than 550 hours. It's literally masterpiece. No game can reach the half of elden ring's level.
Confirmed Haligtree and Mohgwin palace are dlc all along😂
1 year of elden Ring already
