I've not come across these racist comments but I bet you wouldn't give a tinker's cuss what colour skin the man had if he was shedding his blood to protect you and yours. Racist comments say more about your own shortcomings than it does about anyone whose skin isn't of the purest white.

@@hannecatton2179 Because there are racists that think black soldiers arent as good, so I'm telling from experience they are great.

Thanks for the update. Once you get to know what you're looking for you will be able to identify the various regiments performing public duties. For example, RSDG are cavalry and these troops are infantry. How do we know this? Cavalry regiments don't carry a colour/standard.; they carry a guidon. Here we have a colour party so infantry is all it can be, How do we know this is 1SCOTS? They're wearing Government tartan , note the Pipe Major's pipe bannner and they play Blue Bonnets O'er the border

So one member is black. As the late Benny Hill would have said, BIIIIIG DEEEAAL!
At least the guy signed up which indicates a willingness to serve and, if called upon, to die for Queen and Country. That in itself is something to be admired. As a veteran of the US Army, my hat goes off to all these guys!

Nice troop. Something about the pipes and drums when you are marching that makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up. Got to hand it to you Brits (and Scots, Welsh) you have great uniforms and can do one heck of a parade. Not too shabby as combat troops either. :-) Of course the Royal Marines are the top of the pyramid. Thus sayeth a US Marine. It is a Marine thing you civilians just would not understand. Thanks for posting.

SORRY MATE BUT THE ROYAL MARINES ARE NOT THE TOP OF THE PYRAMID YOUR OWN AMERICAN GENERAL IN IRAQ 1990 SAID IF YOU WANT GOOD FIGHTING SOLDIERS GET THE BRITTISH REGIMENTS BUT IF YOU WANT GREAT FIGHTING MEN GET THE SCOTTISH REGIMENTS AND I DO UNDERSTAND AS A SCOTTISH SERVING SOLDIER MYSELF FOR 18 YEARS ALSO WE ARE MORE AT COMBAT TROOPS THAN YOU WILL EVER BE THE SCOTS CAN GO BACK 500 YEARS OF FIGHTING YOU HAVE ONLY JUST STARTED

+bobby sibbald I'm curious as to why they have their weapons shouldered on the left side. I've never seen (or noticed) that before. Is there a reason?

It was a movement that was formulated into drill when the SA80 assault rifle replaced the SLR. Its because of the weight and being a bullpup design, it is a lot shorter than its predecessor so it cannot be rested butt first on the ground. The only way to get relief from the weight when doing long periods of drill is to swap shoulders.
