I'm an American, my mom did some family research and found that we have several family members who immigrated to the US from both England and Scotland; she also claimed that we have the right to a Tartan, she showed me the Tartan that applies to us but unfortunately, I was not interested then and I can't remember what the pattern looks like. I will have to look into this, what Scottish tools exist that I may have some use of?
Don't worry Thomas, You can wear whatever colour of tartan takes your fancy, just as I could wear a cowboy outfit with total impunity. If you are BORN in Scotland of a family name (Clan or Sept of a Clan) that has an officially registered tartan associated with it, then you are wearing that tartan as an element of your National Dress and part of your personal identity. Likewise you may be in a British or Commonwealth Military Regiment/ Police Unit (or a Gurkha Regiment) that has a historical link with that particular tartan, acquired by service and valour. For everyone else, they are free to wear whatever tartan they like, but are wearing it as fancy dress, like me in a cowboy outfit. RUclips is full of the latter category especially US Police/ FD Pipe Bands etc wearing full "Highland Dress" within Pipe Bands with names like "The True Sons of Eire / Emerald / Shamrock Isle" etc., etc., whilst wearing tartan, when plain saffron would be more accurate & traditional. They really look ridiculous, but if they are happy, let them be, they are not causing any one any harm!!! So, wear whatever you want, but don't tell anyone you are "entitled" to wear it, or believe it yourself.
Agree. Doesn't mean you always have to appreciate it. On the other hand, those horses are so smart, seen some do similar "gestures," so that after the 30th time he got a giggle from the crown, he just includes it as a matter of routine.

although I'm a Brit I've always loved the pipes cos when I was at Primary School around the corner from where I lived in London was Territorial Army drill hall and the resident caretaker was a semi retired pipe major (forgive me if I've got the title wrong) one day we had the what does your Dad do lesson his son explained and said his dad would come and show us of course the school phoned him and he couldn't resist we had a huge assembly/PE hall they locked open the doors at hoth ends.and he marched up and down for at least 20 minutes playing all the old tunes you can imagine the accoustics
This is what makes us our United Kingdom.

Very beautiful and very interesting. I am a South African and I would like to know the colours of the Powrie-kilts.
Loved the medals on the pony.
So the pony is like a mascot?
@Talorc MacAllan I too am curious about the pony. I served in the US Army for 9 years. Including some NATO time with the brits, Canadians and Dutch in Bosnia. I’d love to know the history with the pony
@Talorc MacAllan no it’s not I am afraid. Cruachans history was/is Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.

ive been a Royal guard 4 times at the Royal castle Stockholm Sweden, and I say, this is just beutiful.

Nothing better than marching to the pipes. My unit was always behind the Argyl and Sutherland Highlanders of Canada for parades.
People dont realise how much time and effort goes into these drills
Now Folks. This is really great. Stefan from Germany.
You know british still hate germans just because you ass kicking that jerks 75 years ago. The red poppy flower often appear on the grill of the cars there.
Its the memory of the victims during the german air attacks.
Joe Don Poppy’s are for soldiers that died during ww1 during the Somme? And is now for every fallen solider from ww1 too present day. The only brits that hate Germans are uneducated idiots probably like yourself. I for one look back and see a well fought Germany who would have won the war if not for there mistake in Russia and the yanks. We brits were on our knees during the war. Not all nazis were evil most were just young boys fighting for their flag and you have too respect that. Rest in peace too all fallen troops during the war on all sides for they are braver men than 98% of all men today.

@@ScottishLaddie1960 well us Nova Scotians have some. I'm pretty sure.
Culture and pride , perhaps, but what you are looking at in this film is a amalgamation over the last 10-20 years of the last of the proud Scottish Regiments, The Black Watch , The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders , The Kings own Scottish Borderers, The Highland light Infantry, The Gordon Highlanders, The Royal Scots Fusiliers , The Cameronians , The Seaforth Highlanders, and last but not least the Original 1st Regiment of Foot , The Royal Scots the oldest regiment in the British Army first raised in 1633 and with an unbroken line right up until 2006 , that's 373 years of pride and tradition , pissed away on a whim of a faceless bureaucrat .
Me encantó este video. Especialmente poder ver sus rostros mientras "están siendo revisados" Excelentes soldados🌟😊

Outstanding discipline! Best regards from Berlin!
Goodness me. Why have we got 246 dislikes on this. Our military have untimately defended the freedoms we have in this country.
john jack we have nothing to be jealous off. We’re in the same nation so we fight together 🏴🏴
@john jack not this "Englishman"...I have Scottish blood .and am proud
john jack considering there were more Englishmen in service during ww1 and 2 granted it is down to population but still defeats your comment also i didn’t want to have to comment this but I’m English and have nothing against Scots they have great traditions, i have lots of scottish blood in me my last name is Kerr and my Grandad had a thick Scottish accent but people like you creating a rift between us is not what we need in Britain at this point in time.
john jack is there a link you can provide me with supporting your argument.
john jack I don’t know where you get you’re sources from but that definitely isn’t right, you shouldn’t even need to be told that. Like it or not Scotland and England fight together in the British military. Also you’re being very disrespectful to English veterans who have done more than you’ll ever do
Why was aiden Davidson not escorting the mascot, beautiful pony ,🙏🙏🙏
My grandad always used to comment on the 'jocks' and how they live up to their history whipping invader's heads off. He seemed to have the most stories about them, and talked about how they seemed uniquely fierce.
Hadrian, et al, understood we had to be. Sad, many in the US/UK have been "discouraged" to forget so much of what we wrote with our own blood in the books of History.
NB - Pitty about the hecklers.
Too right we are
I have never figured out what all that stamping is about.
Combination of demonstrating motivation / enthusiasm and precision, along with adding a sound effect.
What's funny is that it's not as old as you'd think. We only started doing this in the 20th century.

Nice, but remember, who is the Mayor of London?
If you care to do some research you will see that the Home Secretary Pritti Patel is of Indian Heritage, Sajid Javid the Secretary of State for Heath is of Pakistani Origin, Kwasi Kwarteng the Business Secretary is of Ghanaian Heritage, so the Lord Mayor of London is rather small in the greater scheme of things.

So, wear whatever you want, but don't tell anyone you are "entitled" to wear it, or believe it yourself.
good to see the guys laughing at each other...and realising this is a human endeavour
Agree.
Doesn't mean you always have to appreciate it. On the other hand, those horses are so smart, seen some do similar "gestures," so that after the 30th time he got a giggle from the crown, he just includes it as a matter of routine.
