Using these videos to convince my fiance to go raw and save us money on health costs in the future. Your one of the few that make raw look gooooooooooooooooooood.
yessssss, this morning i was craving cheese, but i decided to get inspiration to keep on my all raw vegan journey and found you. Thank you for all your recipes. i am very grateful.
I made these for dinner this evening and they were gorgeous. I changed them a little, adding fresh herbs and a bit of chilli and changing sesame seeds for hemp seeds etc, but generally they remained pretty much the same recipe as you used. I really enjoyed them, thank you for the recipe. I eat a lot of fruit and sometimes salad just becomes so boring no matter what dressing you use, so it is great to have savoury meals that are so tasty and a little warm. :)
Cherylyn Robinson Ohhhhhh those are all good ideas!! :) Yeah I love that recipes can be altered to your hearts content! I should add chili next time for sure! :D I love spicy - like SO much!! Glad you enjoyed darling :) I completely agree - as much as I love salads and fruit, I do love me a different dish once in a while!!
The added bonus was that i had forgotten how much i enjoyed carrot juice - had an apple, carrot and ginger juice so i could use the carrot pulp. Yummy :)
I really like recipes that give us ways to re-use the juice pulp😊 What can one substitute for mushrooms in this recipe? I don't usually eat them. I've grown a lot of zucchini & yellow squash in my veggie garden. Can one also substitute the zucchini in the recipe with squash?
Sweet so glad you enjoyed!! :) You could definitely try with squash and just use more instead of the mushrooms. You could maybe add other veggies in place too :) Anything goes!
love love love all your recipes!!! So looking forward to your book:) I am new to your channel and absolutely love your videos and your journey is amazing!!! Congrats on your success:)
Roszetta Blalock Ohhh yes I was just telling someone about this one and suddenly really wanted to make it again haha! :) Dehydrators are great for warming stuff up while keeping it raw. I never fully dehydrate things because we need the synergistic water content to help digest otherwise your body has to find the water and typically steals it from your colon, creating dry stools and digestive issues for some. I just use the dehydrator to warm things up and infuse flavours! 1-4 hours max is my typical dehydrating time as long as things are still moist for me!
Hi Lissa! This looks amazing! Could we use grated whole carrot instead of carrot juice pulp? I don't particularly like carrot juice or juicing carrot recipes. Thanks!
Heya!! Yeah you could! They dehydrating time will need to be extended though as they’ll be a lot more watery ❤️ squeeze out as much water from the grated carrot as you can to help that process a bit. More water = longer dehydrating times ❤️
So glad you love my videos and great work on making changes!!! On a side note: excaliburdehydrator.com/?rfsn=6773798.6c568c Until August 15th 2022 get 20% off any home dehydrators with code BACK2EDU Enjoy!! ❤️
You might be able to, the only thing is that they might take forever to dry as they will be too moist. You can try it! Maybe squeeze out some of the carrot juice? I rarely juice too, I'm too lazy - but to make this I will bring out my juicer ;)
elfqueenchloe LOL You can probably just grate the carrots and try to squeeze most of the juice out - it's just easier with the juicer, plus you can enjoy the juice too. They just take longer to dehydrate since they are full of liquid.
+Lissa's Raw Food Romance I recently bought a masticating juicer to make carrot juice and I've been saving the carrot pulp as it's so sweet and tasty. I've been adding it to my sauce for the zoodles (tomatoes, zucchinis, fresh dill, carrot pulp, bell peppers and raw dried thyme). The carrot pulp goes so well in this sauce, it gives it a sweet taste and it makes it thicker. Your recipe is wonderful, it could be eaten as is, like a salad bowl :)
you can but they will be really moist and crumbly. If you do make them without a dehydrator, I would recommend using them as a filling for say, sweet bell pepper halves? Like a stuffing :)
I get mine from a local mushroom vendor here... you might be able to ask some more specialty grocery stores if they carry them. I get mine dried and then just soak them for a few hours to reconstitute them
These videos are great, however, I live in Canada and the price of food is really high! I'd love to try vegan recipes but its a REALLY expensive lifestyle
+The Childfree Curly Girl LOL I live in Edmonton Alberta ;) I save $400 a month now compared to my old lifestyle, so it's not that expensive. Just don't buy pricey things... like cucumbers are stupidly expensive right now so I'm not eating many of them. Eating other stuff waiting for them to get cheap again.
Lissa's Raw Food Romance Heya Canuck!!! I live in Toronto and it is quite expensive, especially when we tried eating organic foods. My husband has been tracking our household spending in an excel sheet for over fiver years and according to that, our grocery bill went up roughly 20% per month, when we went vegan for 3 months. We went off track over the Christmas holidays, but I'm now looking for inspiration to get back on track AND to save money. Would you consider making a video(s) giving tips on how to save on a vegan diet? Btw, I've watched several of your videos and they're great! Keep up the fantastic work!
Yeah I don't buy many organic foods - I do buy more in the summer at markets and stuff but I would much rather stay raw than worry if I can afford food. I did take film of me at the grocery store yesterday showing the ugly rack. I got a bag of UNRIPENED bananas for 30% off! And most of the stuff there wasn't too bad either. That will be on one of my future vids. I think the most expensive things are dates and nuts, spices too, but otherwise I find it quite cheap. I just don't buy expensive stuff and wait for sales. Pineapples are normally 6$ but they had them on for 2.50 yesterday so I got two. I got a box of ripe bananas from the grocer for 10$ that they were going to throw away. 40lbs for 10$!! Just need to ask if they would be willing or have any you can buy. They just throw them away anyways...
Yes!! There is also something that people have been doing lately and there is even a documentary on it I think on Netflix called Dumpster Diving? I have a few friends that do it - they figure out when grocery stores toss their extra food and they check out the dumpsters. They have found SO MUCH good food - just pick the good stuff. A friend got almost 100$ worth of fruit and veggies once at a dumpster by the organic store. I know, gross, but in times of need can be worth it. Might even be fun if you have friends tag along hahah - just another idea :)

Im so happy you’re enjoying the videos!!! I hope you get to eat loads of delicious meals!
I'm definitely getting a dehydrator soon
Oh my gosh. I can't wait to try this. Amazing recipes. Thank you so much.
theresa jurrus Thanks so so much!! The mustard dip is my fave part haha!!
I made some biscuit burgers in my dehydrator using soaked nuts and seeds, sprouted lentils, a veggie mix and flax meal.
I'm so thrilled to see the final cake. WOW! that looks like deep fried and delicious. Thanks a million!

@@RawFoodRomance if I do not have carrot pulp available can I just use carrots processed in the food processor
Would love more videos like this
Those look terrific!
Thank you!!
great recipy- braggs liquid aminos are nowadays difficult to find to buy unfortunately
Strange! They are available most places here!
Could i just use grated carrot as i tend not to juice very much?

Lissa's Raw Food Romance OK, thanks. This recipe looks good enough for me to get my juicer out. :)
Hehehe that's awesome!! :D It's one of my hubby's favourites! The dip is definitely the star haha!
I don't have a juicer...is there anything I can use in place of the carrot pulp?
You could potentially finely grate carrots and strain the liquid?
Sigh. Am I going have to get a juicer now too?!

Looks great and makes me want a hydrator!
What temp do you put the dehydrator on?
I always use 110 or 115F - I rarely use any other temp 🩷
@@RawFoodRomance thank you!! I will try making these tomorrow I just had to get a few ingredients first
These look super yummy!
Thank you!! They are definitely a new favourite in my house!! :D
looks good but isn't chipotle cooked? I love chipotle but can't find it raw
Eh - I'm not a purist so I don't mind using some spices that may or may not be dried at higher temps. :)
those look so good
Thank you!
Yum!!!

what if you don't have a dehydrator?
Use the oven on the lowest setting? It won't be raw, but still vegan. The temperature to stay UNDER is 115F
OK. Wish there were another way. These look delicious!
🥰🥰
great
:)
Dehydrate...🤟
mmmmm
