For those that do not understand temperature differences. raw vegan diet consider food raw if it has not had exposure to temperatures higher than 118 °F (48 °C) There is a difference between Fahrenheit and Celsius people.
You could have dehydrated the eggplant while you preped the bread. It would've all been ready at the same time, raw, tasty and perfect. You can substitute eggplant for butternut squash as well.
Gabriel Cousens noted first hour dehydrating you can put at 145. Inter al Temps don't reach inside especially high moisture. It's still raw. They stuck thermometer inside and hesays first hour the food sweats the internal heat doesn't reach that high. So for hour1 you do 145. Then turn down to 115. Cut cooking time in half!
Thank you for this! It was delicious. I used the seeds and veggies that I had on hand but followed this as a guideline! Turned out amazing! 😋 the flax seeds really held everything together and I was surprised how similar to dough it was when wet.
I'm so glad i found you. ❤ I'm going to try this indefinitely, i just need to figure out how to use my dehydrator, it is nothing like yours though. It's a cheaper version, so hopefully it work's.
Appreciate the recipe and looks great! I’ll try it but will make it raw. You cooked it about 118 F so your version isn’t raw but definitely looks delicious 🙏
Great video, thanks! Got a question about the dehydrator temperature. Doesn't the 1 hour at 145 degrees cook the bread somewhat so it's not longer raw?
No because the bread doesn’t reach an internal temperature of 145. The hour at that temp boosts the drying process to prevent bacteria. Dr. Gabriel Cousins did a lot of research on this, you can read more about it.
This recipe is DELISH! Thank you Heather...OMG was it good! I didn't do the eggplant, but the bread is divine. I dehydrated it at 113 degrees F and it came out perfect. 5 stars!
45 C is equivalent to 113 degrees fahrenheit she is still under 118 Fahrenheit/F. Raw vegan diet consider food raw if it has not had exposure to temperatures higher than 118 °F (48 °C), she's good.
I've made this bread many times! This time I forgot the oil entirely by accident and the bread still came out perfectly. Think I will leave it out every time.
Hey. This looks like an amazing recipe. I eat oil-free food. Can you suggest a replacement ingredient for oil to make the bread batter. I don’t want to use oil in it. What can work well?
It looks super good, I will modify it as I do not consume oil and mine will be raw. Yours is not raw. So it will have to probably just dry longer. Thanks for sharing
@@sweetlyrawdesserts Heather I tried this today! Instead of 1/4 cup oil I used just a drizzle and it was good for me. I also used the regular flax meal since that is what I had. I made it in the Emeril Air fryer dehydrator setting. It turned out great! I made veggie sandwich. I am doing a blog post too. I will share your video and credit :) Thanks!
I did notice the bread was cooked at 145 degrees. Isn’t “raw” considered below 115 degrees? Thanks for the video. I’ll try the recipe but I’ll have to put the bread in the dehydrator for 115 degrees for 8 hours. To preserve the nutrients. Looks awesome. I love how simple and delicious you make this look. 🖤
Yes the bread goes in at 145F only for the first hour. This is important because it is simply allowing the dehydrator to come up to temperature quickly to avoid bacteria/microorganisms forming. Then it is turned turned down for the duration of the drying process (115F-120 will keep it raw).
@@sweetlyrawdesserts Yes . I joined 3 short courses on raw vegan food prepp and in all 3 they explained so clearly than unless you do what your doing here about deshidrating temperature the food gets spoil by mould etc and one hour 145 does not affect negatively the food ,s enzimes
Hello Heather - what is best way to store this bread? A couple days in fridge (in plastic) - getting wet. Absolutely fabulous bread ... want it to stay fresh as long as possible - how?
Thank you! :) I always store it in either a sealed container or large plastic ziplock bag in the fridge. If it’s getting wet in the fridge it might not be dried enough. It also freezes well so maybe just keep enough for a few days in the fridge and freeze the rest. I have successfully kept it in the fridge for 2 weeks (although that won’t work if it’s still wet).
@@sweetlyrawdesserts Thank You, Heather! I had decided to dehydrate a bit longer - so perfect 👍 It's so good that I know there's no need to freeze any .... will be gone before the week is up 'tween my hubby & me 🤗. Thank You for sharing such a great recipe!
This bread tastes amazing but my only issue is that in your video it shows 3 zucchini and 3 carrots. On your recipe it calls for 2 zucchini and 2 carrots ,my bread came out like crackers instead of bread. Amazing taste tho.So should I use 3 of each ?

hi, how do you store this in order for the bread to remain fresh? does refrigeration creates moisture to the bread? what is the self life of this bread?
Hi. I've made this bread many time! This time I forgot the oil entirely by accident and the bread still came out perfectly. Think I will leave it out every time.
Hi! For the bread I would say you would have to use a dehydrator as if you want it to be raw then putting it in the oven would kill the nutrients BUT you can put it in your oven at a very low temperature for a little while. If you aren't raw, honestly just use normal bread if you can.
When did she cook it above 45degrees?! She did set it to a higher setting but that really just to get things going. The dehydrator never goes about 115 degrees with is why it’s turned down after an hour! Which would still be raw
