Also, this reminds me of those Flintstones or Tom & Jerry or whatever and a character would be walking down the hall in his house, and pass the same table and door like 10 times. And I'm like "How long is their house?!?!" even as a little kid I was thinking "WOW their hallway is super long!" :D
Hi Jazza, This is EL from Botswana, I just want to thank you for all your animation tutorials, I had given up on animating until I discovered your channels. you make things easy and at the same time look professional. I really enjoy your staff and I was able to develop more deep interest in animation. so far I am able to do most of the moves ant thanks to you. Love your staff man, you are really talented. Keep up the good job
Hey Jazza SHIFT + Drag = SO helpfull! Thank you very much for this knowledge. Things like this (Or Shift + Draw with Brush, are gold worth) Of Course the whole Parallaxing lesson was great - as every one of your lessons is.
This is literally showing how to make part of the Soldier, Poet, King animation meme. I just discovered this animation playlist, and I love it. You're awesome, Jazza!
Thanks for this awesome tutorial, Jazz. I like your tutorials the most because you include reference files, something that helps me a SHIT TON. Like the top comment suggests, could you make a tutorial on things rotating? (Characters, buildings, etc)? That would be great.
Either copy the frames from the original animation to your other one by simply clicking at one of the frames and dragging across till you have all the frames selected then right click/copy frames. Then go to your other animation and make a new layer and paste those from onto what ever desired frame you want. There's another way too depending on what your trying to achieve.
One thing that comes in handy at times like 12:50 is to press SHIFT CTRL V instead of CTRL V, placing your copied objects EXACTLY at the place they were when you copied them, making it easier to just shift drag them to the right. this also works in Photoshop, comes in very handy if you have 2 identical files (like a comic strip) and you just want to quickly copy the background or something without all the hazzle :)
Great tutorial, as always. Can you explain more about highlights and shadows? it would be interesting to learn about the light from background and the reflection on a character. Thanks!
He's using Adobe Flash, probably Adobe Flash CS6, go to the adobe website and look for it there, though they have the creative cloud now so it might not be possible to get it from them anymore. Try buying from Amazon or some other site unless you want to pay monthly.
I consider myself a pretty good artist, but somethings i've always struggled with is wrinkles, crinkles, creases and folds in clothing. Maybe a How to video in the future? Keep up the awesome work though, you're awesome!
Grea tutorial ! This looks totaly awesome. But could you make a tutorial on how to make a character turn 180º or 360° ? Thanks for all the tutorials :)
I know the ground he used was pre-drawn as trapezoid, but let's say it's a completely straight, flat square. How would you change it so that it spans inwards (as you go up each side of that ground) to make it look like a trapezoid? Is it 3D skewing or something?
I was taught at school that the characters' (with normal height) eyes should be level with or close the horizon line. (unless he's exceptionally tall or the camera is at a 'worm's eye' level.) Am I understanding this correctly?
im am a half decent artist but something i've never gotten is how to draw an ear and all of the different folds and such, please ,make a turtorial, thanks keep upt the good work
Hey love love love your videos would ent have an A+ in my animation class without it what kind of tablet are you using and how could I get one of those cool looking gloves??
Hey, I'm wondering how to do a tracking shot like this (or a dolly shot)but with a more complicated background. For example a cat running and jumping onto shelves, tables and bookcases. Thanks
hello! your video is very helpful.after i made the effects in flash, how do i integrate controling the movement of my animation with mouse scroll or the up and down buttons in the keyboard. and can you help me out with the codes if there is needed. hope you can enlighten me. newbie here.
I know this video is pretty old so I'm not sure if I should expect a reply lol, but I'm new to flash and wondering. . . would it have been easier to have made the ground a graphic and animate the ground and then go into the ground graphic and make the trees part of the ground graphic eliminating the need to animate them at all since they would move perfectly in sequence with the panning of the ground?
you could do that for maybe just the first group of trees but essentially you want the ground and each layer of trees to be moving at different speeds to give it that nice illusion of depth. if you put the trees on the ground layer it would look like a flat picture moving across the screen
I'll never understand how people can dislike these videos. It's free, entertaining, and very useful educational material.
It's on my to-do list! It's quite a big list... But I'll get to it!
Don´t hurry Jazza ! You got at least 6 more years to do them !
@@Gabriel-zj2ce 😂😂
😂
2019 anyone? Yes I'm still tryna learn how to animate :'>
Edit: fuck it's nearly 2021 and I still don't know shit LOL
I just discovered these videos despite having watched Jazza for close to a year now.
I heard about parallaxing from director commentary in Duke Nukem 3D World Tour just this morning.

wow, i didn't think of the parallaxing thing before. thanks, dude!
Sheesh, something like this would've take me all day to make if I tried it and it still wouldn't come out as good. Thanks for the tutorial ^^
Timeless fundamentals👌🏼
It is annoying having a brain fart. Great tutorial Jos, has given me some ideas to play with.

that see ya later was beautiful
Nice tutorial!
Holy shit, I was not expecting that "see ya later". I laughed my ass off!
Great vidyas too Jazza! thanks for making them!
he makes his own bg music
Very great tutorial thank you
If you put some bigger trees in front of your character/symbol, you can get it to feel like they are walking inside the forest rather then out of it.
Awesome! and your character looks so proud of himself lol
This við was Posted 7 years ago, but it’s still helpful.
Great tutorial, as always. Can you explain more about highlights and shadows? it would be interesting to learn about the light from background and the reflection on a character. Thanks!
Gotta love dat ending :3

Grea tutorial ! This looks totaly awesome.
But could you make a tutorial on how to make a character turn 180º or 360° ?
Thanks for all the tutorials :)

Well, I mean you could also use the sub-selection tool and then edit it with the gradient tool
Hey we used this video in school 8th for learning how to parallax in a animation unit
Thanks for the tutorial it's really helpful :D may I ask what kind of software do you use :))
jazza was wondering if you can show how to do a super hero flying animation
You just draw a guy planking in mid air, and make small features of him move to say that the wind is blowing against him
Look up ed tadeo
in the games i code i like to have the clouds move independently of the paralaxing background :)
genius
This is bleeping awesome.
2020 🙌

holy sh*t it's old jazza. mEmOrIeS
You could also do these things in Toon Boom, (there are built-in features for it) then export the scene into Flash.
so cool **-**
im am a half decent artist but something i've never gotten is how to draw an ear and all of the different folds and such, please ,make a turtorial, thanks keep upt the good work
Hey love love love your videos would ent have an A+ in my animation class without it what kind of tablet are you using and how could I get one of those cool looking gloves??
jazza, as a fellow austrailian i have to ask you. which is better, Home and away or Neighbors
Hey, I'm wondering how to do a tracking shot like this (or a dolly shot)but with a more complicated background. For example a cat running and jumping onto shelves, tables and bookcases. Thanks

While you at it,.....do a anemation with bone tool my guru lol.
Great tuts mate thankyou for your time!
Do you have any other examples of complex animated scenes that use parallax?
hello! your video is very helpful.after i made the effects in flash, how do i integrate controling the movement of my animation with mouse scroll or the up and down buttons in the keyboard. and can you help me out with the codes if there is needed. hope you can enlighten me. newbie here.
Het jazza awesome tutorial.. but i wanted to ask you.. for that final clip you made.. how many frames have you added in your "scene 1"...??
Hello mate im a real fan of your work i am an aspiring animator any career tips for someone starting form scratch
2020
I wonder if the objects like the trees, sky and ground were created in flash or if you can download objects to use in flash?
You can do that, But its cheating.
Hey jazza, what kind of drawing tablet would u recommend?
And sir please make vdo on parallax effect apply in synfig software..
cute baby channel back in the day
not sure i understand atmospheric tint, why does it exist on the trees behind not but the ones nearest the moving object

круто!
How would I be able to make the background move away from me as if I'm making a driving scene with the car moving towards the screen?
can you make a video on how to animate perspective walking
oh,the noodle man,i thinked i don't will se him again
this is so easy to do in toon boom. too much work in flash.
toon boom... sounds like a 4 year olds toy...
+Maqil Khan Kinda an easier but more limited version of flash.
PhoenixFireBlaze Just tried it a week ago didn't really like it and it felt slower to animate.
