Well said. It's hard to believe anyone who actually reads the Bible and believes what it says, could fall for the convoluted, complex and fantastic fantasy called the pre tribulation rapture. I used to believe it, myself. It wasn't until the Lord prevailed upon my heart to ditch my preconceptions and let HIs word speak for itself. I have learned to trust the word of God because of that. II Thess. 2:3 is talking about "The Departure" (Rapture)....and not a 'falling away', unless you want to picture 'falling off the earth'....Paul can use different words to talk about the Rapture....He can say...."Harpazo- caught up"......He can say "Gathering together"....He can say "apostasia'- The Departure".........He can say "changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye".........all of these describe the Rapture. I want to concentrate on "The Departure".......it must happen first, THEN the man of sin is revealed......The Rapture naturally exposes the son of perdition because the 'body of Christ' is the opposing spirit power that blocks the 'principalities and powers' from moving in.......the 14th and 15th Century Bible translations all give the translation as "The Departure".....not 'falling away'..

David Hocking has become a career preacher. He knows that to get into churches, he must teach pre tribulation rapture and tithing, and he must endorse the 501c3 corporate church. David lost his right to preach when he violated his office by having an affair with a lady in his church. At that point, he should have been forgiven and relegated to the pews, where he might learn something. That didn't happen, rather, within a short period of time he was preaching in another big church. No repentance.

I really dont think its for us to judge we are all sinners who need the grace of God. Dr. Hocking is a brilliant bible scholar and I for one am very greatfull for being able to take some of his college bible courses that he offers for free to anyone who wants to take them. His knowledge and ability to teach is a gift and his doctrine is sound thats hard to find on the internet so maybe try lifting up our brothers and sisters in Christ instead of sitting back in judgement I personally couldn't care less about his personal sins from 1992 and neither should you. Im sure you wouldnt want your sins from decades ago overshadowing everything you do even though God has forgiven them.
