This Movie was my introduction to the Muppets and i always felt that i was like Gonzo because being autistic i was always left out and was welcomed by friends and family. So, thanks for the review Esh.
this Muppet Movie is probably my guilty pleasure as a Muppet fan myself; plus the song Gonzo sings "I'm going back there someday" from The Muppet Movie (1979) is the inspiration for this Muppet Movie released during the summer of 1999!
I remember liking this movie as a kid, I haven't seen it since then and can remember only 2 things, something gets spelled out in cereal, and they sing 'We Are Family' towards the end.
I enjoyed Muppets from Space, though the title seems very misdirecting when you realize that it's more like a Muppets version of X-Files (still lots of fun).
Have you seen The Great Muppet Caper? The whole opening credits clip is Kermit, Fozzie, and Gozzo in a hot air balloon wondering what can happen in the air. Fozzie imagines possibly being swept out to sea, and Gonzo goes "Whoooooo-eee! I'd like to try this without the balloon.". "Try what?" Kermit asks "Plummeting?" (to which Gonzo wistfully replies "Yeah....."), "I guess you could try it once.". Gonzo wonders how far you'd have to plummet before you black out, and Kermit tells him not to because they need him for the movie (as Fozzie's commenting about the opening credits. I feel that's Muppets at the franchise's heart. Weird, surreal, with random jokes directed at different age groups (adult jokes often going right over kids' heads). I remember a holiday special (Lady Gaga and the Muppets Holiday Spectacular) where Bobo's a TSA agent, and they make an LGBTQ reference because he's a bear ( Wokka, wokka! :D ).
Say what you will about the Funk music; I actually really loved this movie and still do since I was a child. Probably because of the funk music. That and Rizzo got a lot of screen time, one of my favorite characters.
I would love to see you do a full months worth of muppet videos even if they spill in to next month. I actually liked this movie it was a return to Muppets doing what they do best rather then Muppets adapting other films. I also like it a lot better then Swap Years, Wizard of Oz, letters to Santa.
I never really liked Gonzo much, so this movie is not for me. But this is not a franchise killing film. This is not a Last Airbender or a Fantastic 4 or something that should never be seen again. I personally like the Muppet Movie a lot more.
Honestly, while this movie isn't fantastic and it's no where near as good as the Muppet Movie, I think the Muppet Wizard of Oz is much worse. Like a million times worse.

I, personally, like this movie. I think the huge house the Muppets live in is awesome! And I do feel sorry for Gonzo.
10:14 I like how even though your Kermit plushie mouth is open, it looks like he was reacting to the scene with you 😂
a bit disappointed the door in the jar wasn't just acid, that melts walls
Muppets from space is dope. I was 9 when it came out. I loved it! My step mom i remember despised it. Like hated it.

7:24 When you brought that part up,my mind IMMEDIATELY thought of the Randy ball cancer episode as well!
I love this movie as a kid back then
3:32 cool effects
"And only the cruelest of gods know what else offscreen..."
Hey, Esh, chill--this isn't The Happytime Murders yet. Or the revived Muppet Show...:P
I actually like all forms of The Muppets

Was anyone else absolutely fucking terrified of this one film to the point where you swore off any other muppets film
My favorite movie
Dude you make the movie sound worse than it is, and I actually like the movie!
I saw this in theaters. 1999 was a big movie year for me
Me too. I was 9.

Always great to see a new review :D
I have never been a fan of muppet movies, personally, but watching you talk about one was thoroughly entertaining!
