Whirr was my best friend's favorite band. It's such raw & pure emotion. He killed himself last year, this is the one that makes me think of him the most. He'll always be younger than me.
“Feels like You” may end up being my personal favorite album I’ve listened to. It’s bittersweet, transient, and depicts the intangible. In this very song, it talks about being “hypnotized by old memories.” That’s sounds like it entails the album. Same with the song Vividly that talks about how the shadow comforts like sheets and how the speaker is “seeing the wrong things” and “hearing the wrong things.” This album is still engrossed in accepting circumstances and finding a comfort in what existed. It’s sadness it’s gone, but happiness it happened. “It” being a love and potentially the band itself. It’s a very personal, touching album. It’s hurting, but there’s peace behind it.

I just turned 30 this year and discovered this song a month ago but recently it's stuck in my head and the line "I'll never do the things that I wanted to" really hits me hard...
this song gives me a feeling I can't yet explain, it brings peace and a feeling of euphoria, and I also love the feeling of the aggression and the softness within the aggression. this feeling is so addictive, this band and song is so good. don't know why it isn't more popular
To answer your question, this band got canceled for making trans jokes/insults toward a trans band (GLOSS) in 2015. “Feels like You” released in 2019 and subsequently went under the radar; although, it’s my favorite Whirr album and debatably their best. At the very least it has the most depth. So yeah, they got cancelled and it’s been 9 years lol
the whole feels like you album, to me. feels alot more romantic in every aspect, if this is their last album. then what a fucking way to end everything, this feels like a goodbye kiss to everything the band has ever done. definitely their strongest record imo, and the transitions from song to song are just wonderfully done. and thank you for this music video, it really suits this already blissful song
I love the transition from wavelength to this song- rental and how time stretches. I still think mellow holds the cake for this album but younger than you is fantastic as well. Amazing album. Wish I could see it live
This album is a raw, bittersweet masterpiece in shoegaze music. It’s hurting and “hypnotized by old memories.” It’s an album still accepting the conclusions like a finished romantic relationship. Perhaps that’s why you see it as romantic despite a lot of the lyrics reading like a break up; there’s elements of tenderness mixed within it too. It’s bittersweet. That’s the best word here. For example, vividly says the shadow comforts me like sheets. There’s a contentness there, but also the speaker has “cold feet” and is “seeing the wrong things.” It’s a story of rose tinted glasses.
