Funny you mention that, my initial loadout for the frame was double melee, but since I made that Exia video recently I wanted to do something different. Having a balance between melee and range is nice, don't you think?
Making the most out cosplay builds and similar is frustrating in pvp but sometimes the satisfaction of a good game or win makes up for it. Definitely in the camp of fashion over function, I need to give a full basho build a go
If timed correctly the charged Lazer Slicer can muscle past being kicked & you also take less damage during the attack. I love using this feature against RJs & tanks who kick too much or melee users unaware of the losing trade.
Most meta builds are named by the JP community, I think. That's why they all have these wacky names that sound like nonsense. It *almost* makes sense in japanese. Also, I really like the Basho and I tried so hard to make a build out of one. I think I settled on something with a zimm and an aperitif hand missile swap over the melee weapon, as I really started liking that combo when I tried it out on my RAD build. Took me forever to settle on a Basho loadout. I don't like the single Ransetsu, I think it's too slow and clunky and barely hits the enemy and doesn't deal stagger quickly enough and neither is good at keeping stagger up. Dual Rans, yeah sure they're good. But single, I think your build would be better off with one of the full auto rifles, or charged Harris shots for the stagger melee combo with the missiles. That said, well played and nice build!
Is that right? Even then these meta names are so bizarre. I miss the basic "dual rifles" or "missile boat" naming schemes. The single Ransetsu RF is one of the only options I found the arms can handle for ranged skirmishes (I also wanted a BAWS weapon for the theme). I tried Harris and full auto weapons, but unless I was in their face 99% of the time I was just missing my shots.
@@dsaBOSS not even the Etsujin worked? I'm pretty sure you can throw that weapon on almost any build and it just works, truly an easy gun for RLF recruits. Harris is more for picking the perfect moment to send out a charged shot. but yeah it is true that this kind of stuff is played at a very close range. The Japanese are a bit uh, theatric with their mech naming schemes, lol. Couple of the recent meta builds are called "PowerBaka" and "TokuRobo" depends on what the first ranked player using it calls the build sometimes too.
@@varyagace Maybe because I was facing kites at the time, but Etsujin was missing every other burst. Another reason why I leaned towards Ransetsu. Gotta agree, I have a favorite build with my Baws, I use the same inners except the booster of my choice is the PO4, then I have 2 burst pistols, on my back a butta blade and then the 10 cell forward missles. Pretty good and does pretty well in the game, maybe at times switching out the missiles to the vertical big one for some bosses.
as a basho main. I would suggest, that you also try other more "intensive" boosters like the coral and Alula boosters. Mostly dou to the Basho core's really high booster efficiency
I enjoy using the Kikaku booster with the dagger because the assault boost energy drain and melee cancels are more energy efficient. Fluegal has better neutral speed but I feel like the Basho set is incomplete without Kikaku. This isn't a criticism, just an opinion.
For real, when I was putting this together I quickly realized how tricky it was when it came to finding the right weapons. The arms in particular with their poor recoil and tracking limited my options.
When I build an AC ots usually for form first and then function. So I find the aesthetic combination I like and work from there. I haven't made a "full frame AC" using any single set of parts. But I'm an avid basho arm user
Hey man, nice video, I’m new to this series, though I never bought and played this game that I have been dying to play, anyway I enjoyed watching your content.
Crazy because most cases when acs run when they’re about to get staggered I either get them and fold them or I just sit there for a bit because I’m not chasing someone over that, now terminal armor and pulse armor if your ap is low or if your using all charge weapons and you gotta recharge I get that tho
Like the Pile Bunker, Slicer can just end builds quickly. I should know, I've been on its receiving end too many times lol. Oh man, AC1 Nineball was rough. I think I ran Karasawa, having heavy hitting weapons makes a huge difference. His pulse gun melts like crazy.
Basho arms are too usefull: you need melee - take it; you don't need fire arm take it too. Btw, try out full corp builds. Baws doesn't produce only aiming system.
Not really, doing some practice rounds helps to get me warmed up. Then again, when I was grinding for S rank for the first time I did feel that way a bit but ever since it's just about enjoying the game, at least for me. The key is to not take each match so seriously and try to enjoy yourself. Hope that helps!
I name my Basho ACs Ligma BAWS
Putting all those LOADER 4 named ACs to shame. 🤣
Mine is Satsui no Basho

Really? That's pretty awesome. I don't use the slicer often, so that's good to know. I thought only the plasma thrower can tank hits.
@dsaBOSS you can test the timing by trying to kick steel haze ortus out of his charge attack in the arena. 👍🏾
damn, he crushed em like a BAWS
That's what separates a BASHO from a BAWSHO. 😂

Oh yeah, when I'm entirely invested in close-range those are my go to boosters. This loadout calls for a more balanced option IMO.
It would be funny to see you trying the Jail Break AC.
Don't tempt me. I've already made some builds that turned Ranked into hard mode but Jailbreak would be impossible mode. 😅

Sometimes fashion > function. If you're a Basho arm enthusiast, try the rest of the frame. I think you'll like the defense it offers.

Seriously, it's very dependent on the scenario. Most of the time retreating like that seems to end in disaster.
made a PVP basho build with duel Ducketts and pulse blade
I used it pre duck nerfs but maybe it's still useable
How'd you deal with Duckett's recoil on Basho arms? They don't really handle weapons with that much kick too well, even with Ocellus.
Have you done a Jehuty from Zone of the Enders build yet? If not I’d be surprised considering you’re an MGS fan.
I really want to, but if I were to recreate something from ZOE it would be Anubis. 👀
Pretty sure with Assault Boost, you only need to press the button once to activate it. Holding it is probably what's screwing you up.
You might be right. I never had the issue before and I hold it down to quickly deactivate AB when I need to. Old Rat Catcher habit lol. 😅
I'd rather prefer a pile bunker build on a Basho never expected laser slicer. Still on my AC1 playthrough, got any tips for Nineball?

Thanks for the advice, man! Hoping this'll help due to the fact that my mentality does not allow me to run...

They are the best melee arms in the game. I might try a full corp setup, couldn't really do that here since BAWS has no dedicated shoulder options.

I was thinking about using basho arm but I need recoil control to hit AR shot.
You really need to be up close to make any rapid fire weapon work on Basho arms.
@dsaBOSS Dang it XD. I suprise you any at all.
