This track is proof that Mike was a lyrical beast. Almost seems like he was being restrained for the "general audiences". Love it
It's why Mike is so criminally underrated as a songwriter, producer, and vocalist. He is really selfless that he knew that Chester would be the focal point of the band that he stepped aside, just as he did with Fort Minor. It sucks that his own fanbase dont show him just as much love as Chester (not to take away from him). His is the reason they nickname him "The Glue".

I remember that Mike said Faint is by far one of the songs they were about to scrap, till Mike added "Jazz" into or smth, which made it sounded so different.

When I listen to this, I feel like there is something bittersweet about it. Nothing too good, nothing too bad. When I'm in my lows, it reminds me of the good that is ahead of me, and when it's full of joy, I do not have expectations of what is to follow.

This is actually a slightly different take then the Underground demo of the song that's been around for a while.
Listen to the progression of an upload of that version at where the chorus in the finished song would be, and you'll spot it.
So, the outros that they usually peformed live for Faint came from the demo. That's actually sick.
I know this might be just one more comment in millions of millions, but I miss Chester. He's the only person I've never met in real life who's departure has made me legitimately sad in real life. All these tributes are so respectful. Thanks guys.

If only people could've seen this live. It was 2003 and i saw them live on the Project Revolution Tour in Cincinnati. They played Faint and in the intro, it was this demo's intro. Then. They played the track as it was in the studio. As the breakdown occurs before the outro chorus, they slowed it down and play the actual breakdown of this demo, seamlessly, and Mike spits the first verse of this demo. And, in an instant you hear Chester's growl and flows back into the chorus. As the song beings to conclude they snap back to the closing breakdown of the demo once more all the while Chester's belting out on the top of his lungs "I won't be ignored". It was a sight to see that i wish those who were too young could've experienced. Memories.
