@@markomarkovic5729 right now AQ1 and AQ2 are their only Chinese "budget" lines. The AQ2 series replaced the older Force 3005 series.

Jay Lee : No, these are not built by Mapex. In fact, Mapex is a brand of „KHS Musical Instruments“. Mapex Drumsets AND the „cheaper“ Sonor Drums (AQ1 & AQ2 and former series like Essential or Select Force and so on) were built by „KHS“ in their own factory, but the brands are completely independent. So the quality of the new sonor AQ2 is (of course in my eyes) way better than competitive series by Mapex.

Nothing wrong with the Armory kits. I have a force 3005 and an Armory, and they sound almost identical with the same head combinations. I think the armory has more defined high tones (probably due to the birch). Needless to say, I still use my Force 3005 as my main kit.

Do you play drums because of the finishes or because of the sound? I agree that Sonor doesn't have some killer finishes (except for Select & Essential Force kits), but they do make some amazing drums
