The thing that sold me on the Botvinnik is that I wanted to play the Sicilian but hated the many Anti Sicilians. Since I can play the Botvinnik against many of these Anti Sicilians I am getting a lot of bang for my buck by playing the Botvinnik. Thanks. Also, this system is much more subtle than many might think. Many positions have several moves that all look possible but in reality finding the best move is critical. This will be more difficult for my opponent than for me since I have studied your course.

I came out of retirement after 17 years and played the English Botvinnik with great success. Won $$ in Reno largely due to this system.

Played the English c4 when I started as a dusty player online because everybody is prepared for e4 or d4 openings. You make me want to revisit it.

Hey Simon do u have a complete Repertoir against the Sicilian with this course? (Does 1e4. C5 2.c4... always transpose to your corse?) because having something against the Caro-Kann the french and the Sicilian would be great 👍🏽

Hi Simon, I love your videos. Thank you for making these available to everyone! Regarding stopping the queen from moving to H5, why not go BF3? See 13:54 for an example. The same question applies at 15:46. Thanks!

There's an inaccuracy at ruclips.net/video/tTTbExgotwI/видео.html white shouldn't go e4 Nxd5 is better I couldn't understand e4 so I ran it through the engine I checked other variations and e4 doesn't seem to blast open the centre.

My only point of criticism about this course is its receipt against 1...e6 (a fairly common response to 1.c4, by the way). White simply cannot get the tiniest advantage after 2.e4. Moreover black manages to equalize comfortably as the position opens up rather quickly after many exchanges on the center of the board.

I enjoyed the video but as someone who plays the French. E4 E6 C4 D5 doesn't bother me in the least. I don't believe white has much here.

Starts 10:39. You are very boring Simon. This way will scare students to take your course
