    Benefits of Playing Chess:
    - Promotes brain growth
    - Increases problem-solving skills
    - It exercises both sides of the brain
    - Raises your IQ
    - Sparks your creativity
    - Teaches planning and foresight
    - Teaches patience and concentration
    - Optimizes memory improvement
    - Improves recovery from stroke or disability
    - Helps treat ADHD
Chess is an intellectual battle where players are exposed to numerous mental processes such as analysis, attention to detail, synthesis, concentration, planning and foresight. Psychological factors are also present on and off the board; playing Chess stimulates our imagination and creativity. Every single move a player makes is the result of a deep analysis based on the elements presented on the battlefield.
Chess in its essence teaches us psychological, sociological and even moral values. In a Chess game, both players start with the same amount of material and time. The fact that the white pieces move first is considered to be practically irrelevant -especially because a player typically plays one game as white and one game as black. Consequently, the final result of the battle solely depends on each player. It doesn’t matter if you win by taking advantage of your opponent’s mistakes or by simply avoiding mistakes yourself. Truth is that Chess is an extremely individual sport and our defeats can only be blamed on ourselves and no one else. And this, in the end, only benefits us because we learn to be and feel responsible for our actions and never come up with excuses to justify ourselves.
We also learn that when it comes to our victories on the board, our opponent's mistakes play a more significant role than our own skills. Let’s not forget that a Chess game without any mistakes would be a draw. This way, Chess provides us with another valuable life lesson: be humble at all times.

I absolutely love this video. I have been trying to meld the KIA, English & Reti together to have options of selecting best attacking set up depending on different set ups adopted by Black. Still working that out and until this video was unaware of the similarity of the g3 Vienna. Will check that out too. Much food for thought . Learning chess via patterns & set ups is rather than individual moves is very powerful.

I was excited for this lesson. I have tried to play the Botvinnik English before. It all seems so perfectly logical. Sadly, it has not worked out for me, but I am willing to try again. In the past, I gave up on it because my win rate with 1.e4 is so much better. I have developed strategies for all of the various black responses to e4. I realize that is a bold statement, but I have been playing e4 for over 40 years. 1. c4 just opens up a giant box of options for black, and I don't know what to do. I understand your point that black will also be unfamiliar with the English, so maybe it all evens out. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks for another great lesson!

Hi jeffrey if you say your good at e4 opening you had better start using d4. Because if your both good at this your rating would all the more soar high. I think we are opposite🤭! I am poor with e4 opening. If you play 1.d4 you be ready with QGA, QGD, 1.d4 c5, 1. d4 e5 (gambit), against Slav, KID, Gruenfeld, etc.

@@bggines_1260 thanks, benji😁 I actually do play the Colle occasionally, thanks to Coach's lesson. I have some success with it, but I found it helped my game with the black pieces more than the white pieces. It gave me insight into the kinds of things that give white problems after 1.d4. The Queen's Gambit just doesn't appeal to me, and I am simply too old to learn it now🤣

@@NMRobertRamirez I ran it through an engine and now I do remember retaking with the g pawn with the two pawns side by side White is just about holding the defense together with an active position. I guess you didn't cover it because it isn't the line you were concentrating on. exf4 is the line I expect to run into most tho and there is a lot going on.

I use only English and Polish openings and somethimes white Czech Pirc. Why? Because otherwise the opponent choose the opening. And that's not good for me. I cannot memorise so mamy openings.

If black doesn't fianchetto (plays some early ...Bc5), then this won't work anymore. There won't be a hook on g6 anymore Maybe an additional video is justified.

Hello! We will certainly have more videos on this opening, but even if they did Bc5, we can do this. We might have to play h3-Kh2 before the pawn storm, but it's definitely still doable 👍

What happens if black plays Bishop to C5 instead of B4 and Knight to G4.

Hello Coach. I recently shifted from Grunfeld to KID after watching your KID Playlist. Can you please make a database/study where you attach 10 model games(the ones you think will help get an idea of different situations)for each variation you have discussed in the playlist . Don't need to analyse them just attach them and if I have any doubts I know you are always there. And your videos are awesome 🙂.
