    I got into an argument over misprints and value over the Circular Logic "misprint". I told a guy don't buy it for the misprint value as all of them are misprints.
    Turns out it's the most expensive version of Circular Logic at like 3 dollars

    • @michaelkelsey4918
      @michaelkelsey4918 3 месяца назад

      It's the most expensive because it was part of the secret lair. So you are still entirely correct, especially because you lose a lot of money on the other cards. I would only buy it if I loved the art style (I'd probably only pay $5 for the set, if the cards in it weren't playable)

      I love circular logic's misprint, honestly. It inspired me to make a custom card: "Buffoonery" U, sorcery
      "Choose one: counter target spell, or scry 2".
      Yes, a sorcery speed counter. The idea is that you need a wizards of thay effect to play it. But if you have that effect, the reward is a 1-mana counter without a downside. The scry 2 is just to keep it from bricking TOO hard if you don't have such an effect.

      I think because "reprint value" roughly correlates to playability. I'm fine with secret lair sol rings or basic lands because those card will have a home in some deck of mine, regardless of what a mechanically identical card could have cost me.
      The Lord of the Rings secret lair was so egregious because frankly those cards are just draft chaff at best. Like Shire Terrace isn't even good color-fixing for Limited, what constructed deck is that going into? I'll never show these cards off in play.

  • @bee5464

    If I'm gonna be honest, don't care? Like secret layers aren't really meant to be competitive boosters. They're collectives with fancy art or weird cards. If they're good in a format, great, if not, just have them as a thing to look at and slot in your jank or casual decks.
