I heard Austin play at the barbican as part of the cinematic orchestra not so long ago. His composition Lapis was the stand out track. Immensely beautiful. I feel so lucky that I got to listen to him live (live) before he died. RIP.
I am deeply saddened by this person's death. This is the type of dude that motivates you to excel because there is no telling how much time you have left in the world. RIP
I'm laughing too he keeps hitting the key like its going to work well what else can he do there is another key sticking he just keeps playing that Rhodes must be old old I mean the original Rhodes not even a Fender Rhodes it's the D and F# that are no action wonder what other keys sticking on that old horse been carrying tunes for likely 50 years already by the way I promised the Universe I'd burn the four Thomas Rhett tickets I'd bought if my woman didn't get back with me so we could use them with her sister and niece guess what she got back with me thank you Jesus
Wow I had no idea Justin Brown played with Austin Peralta! I've been digging his playing with Ambrose and this is really cool, seeing him do a freer kinda thing.
All of them are made by Istanbul Agop. Looks like some Turk Hi hats, Xist Ion crash, 30th anniversary ride for sure, and maybe an Xist crash on the far right.
+Zero Calibur that's because he is using a sustain pedal for those keys. What they do is well, the name itself implies. The sound of those keys sustain for as long as the pedal is held down.
jacob0acl lmao is that right? I was confused. I genuinely thought there was a purpose for why that is happening and tried to rationalize it with my understanding, which however, is "sticky". I need to do my homework. thx
The tolex covering (the white vinyl covering) on the piano at the keys end is not glued down enough and so brushes the keys. I had it on my purple 73 years back... needs to be clamped more firmly...
simon mavin Maybe... To me it feels like the drummer is pushing and Austin is trying hard to pull it back - but you could be right - Austin wasn't making eye contact and seemed pretty chilled with it
Justin Brown tends to do that when he's playing this style of music. he's most likely doing it on purpose cause he know his shit too well to be unconscious of it.
AUSHTEEN that's true to a certain degree but it's not long before they become detrimental to your health and your music. pretty sure the shit Austin was taking wasn't really doing his music a world of good. the kid was just raw talent from the get go.
then why are you telling everyone? You can't really say "which is fair enough" after you've just done the very thing the family would rather you didn't.
RIP Austin Peralta. Your talent left this Earth too soon.
Amen to that. Genius doesn't even begin to cover it.
Wondering where he would be now when you see the success of Kamasi W, Fly Lo, Thundercat or guys like Cory Henry. He 'd be so high.
93bben he was high my g

I feel really bad when I discover new artists and they are already dead. Sorry Austin! Thanks for your stunning music!
First time hearing Austin. What a brilliant musician. RIP my dear.
I am deeply saddened by this person's death. This is the type of dude that motivates you to excel because there is no telling how much time you have left in the world. RIP
Wow what an amazing pianist. Rest his soul. He dealt well with the sticky keys! What a natural
Austin peralta, Kamasi Washington, Thundercat.
Wouldve been the All star band
that band existed.. they all grew up together and played together growing up... all of the west coast collective.
Drummer?
I think the drummer is Ronald Bruner Jr? I may be wrong
Kolob Canyon it isn't. its something brown...forgot his name. tronald bruner jr is incredible too tho
vincent c smith either way this is epic

I'm laughing too he keeps hitting the key like its going to work well what else can he do there is another key sticking he just keeps playing that Rhodes must be old old I mean the original Rhodes not even a Fender Rhodes it's the D and F# that are no action wonder what other keys sticking on that old horse been carrying tunes for likely 50 years already by the way I promised the Universe I'd burn the four Thomas Rhett tickets I'd bought if my woman didn't get back with me so we could use them with her sister and niece guess what she got back with me thank you Jesus

What cymbals are those? They sound amazing
Benji Robinson would love to know the ride
All of them are made by Istanbul Agop.
Looks like some Turk Hi hats, Xist Ion crash, 30th anniversary ride for sure, and maybe an Xist crash on the far right.
RIP desde España maestro
i really wish you were still alive
Rest in Peace Austin
a parada é em 2012 e eu pirando em 2016.
that's my favourite video
sadly, an unfinished life
sound of the LA
Is the bassist the guy from 30 rocks?
did you already upload all the material you have from this concert here?
Can anybody explain why some of his keys are getting stuck in the beginning of the video?
+Zero Calibur that's because he is using a sustain pedal for those keys. What they do is well, the name itself implies. The sound of those keys sustain for as long as the pedal is held down.
+Ruthwik Rao no no no, he's got sticky keys. a sustain pedal would sustain all the notes
jacob0acl lmao is that right? I was confused. I genuinely thought there was a purpose for why that is happening and tried to rationalize it with my understanding, which however, is "sticky". I need to do my homework. thx
The tolex covering (the white vinyl covering) on the piano at the keys end is not glued down enough and so brushes the keys. I had it on my purple 73 years back... needs to be clamped more firmly...
Rest In Peace!
can anybody make out what it says on his snare at the end 7:35
Tim Lefebvre on bass? right?
Kozlakos Himself ! Who's that drummer ? I saw him playing with Thundercat but i don't know his name.
Simon Bérard it's ronald bruner jr, thundercat's brother
Kozlakos no it's justin brown on the drums.
arctictazz ok, sorry :)
Justin Brown
RIP
rest in peace
Just found out that he passed away! I'M SHOCKED!!!! I can't believe it! Noooo!
Это же Заппа!?С которым хотела бы поиграть Хироми. Но, увы, он ушёл гораздо раньше и уже не мог предоставить ей такую возможность.
I think it's Justin Brown
Wow getting Bob James vibes so sad he is gone
tim lefebvre on bass???
I hear Tim and everything else must wait.
quem viu, viu...
Drummer not taking Austin's hint that he's playing too fast? (At the beginning)
na...just dope placement.
simon mavin Maybe... To me it feels like the drummer is pushing and Austin is trying hard to pull it back - but you could be right - Austin wasn't making eye contact and seemed pretty chilled with it
I definitely feel that into the solo section, not so much in the beginning.
simon mavin Agreed. Very nicely done I'd say
Justin Brown tends to do that when he's playing this style of music. he's most likely doing it on purpose cause he know his shit too well to be unconscious of it.
justin browm
That's Tim Lefebvre
Sticky icky
whos the drummer?
I was thinking how annoying that is but then I realized I kinda liked that he only played that d once at a time
It gets stuck when he plays the arpeggio. 0:32
jondy
Is it just me or is that key sticking
just a kid so much promise sad
Kid was so good. So sad that musicians are so attracted to drugs and alcohol.
Drugs play a big role in helping artists like AP compose their music.
AUSHTEEN that's true to a certain degree but it's not long before they become detrimental to your health and your music. pretty sure the shit Austin was taking wasn't really doing his music a world of good. the kid was just raw talent from the get go.
he died of viral pneumonia. Drugs and alcohol just aggreved his health condition
j
then why are you telling everyone? You can't really say "which is fair enough" after you've just done the very thing the family would rather you didn't.
This is the most depressing shit ive ever seen...So much talent gone just like that.
Scumbag D key. xDD
Old Rhodes, best Rhodes
Could you please get a better sound guy? This is mixed and mastered so badly. Thanks.
The rimshots/snare...arggh..no disrespect to the drummer..but yea this deserves a better mix💯✌
RIP :-(
gutted that I never got to hear him play live, RIP Austin
RIP
