- I already feel the summer coming. A bit of Bossa Nova is appropriate, i think.
"Wave" - 1967, by the master Tom Jobim, with the elegant collaboration of Claus Ogerman.

There's no high-end music like bossa nova music!! The best! Perfect mixing and mastering!
This is a beautifully done dubbing. This Jobim chestnut could hardly sound better.

I'm pleased you liked! :)
Pete Turner's Photo cover was perfect for this series on CTi. Got mine in 1967 at Korvettes on Staten Island while a student at Wagner College.

As always, great job of capturing the sound. I would really love to hear your version of Golden Earring "Twilight Zone". I've always loved that song.
I don't have that one, sorry!
Beggars can't be choosers :) I really enjoy your recordings. Thanks for checking.
Great
Nice! I like "wave", it's a nice tune. I sometimes play it on my guitar. Oscar Peterson also recorded a wonderful version of it.
Yes, i like it too. Actually, there are countless versions of this tune by other artists, although the album itself is a bit overlooked compared with other Jobim's albums.
Yeah "wave" is a bit of a Bossa Nova "standard" I guess. Jobim was a great composer in the genre. Strange that the original album wasn't as popular. I guess most people only know Jobim from "The Girl from Ipanema" and "Desafinado".
"a nice tune" good grief this is a pop masterpiece
+jim partridge Or a Bossa Nova masterpiece, AND a nice tune :)
My only two complaints is that he made this song too short, 2,50 min. only, and ends with a fading.. not a very satisfying ending if you ask me. I have the feeling there was more good stuff to listen.
Actually, most tracks of the album are short - "Look To The Sky" 2,15; "Triste" 2,02 min., and so on.
Hi Rui:
This notification didn't reach my inbox, :(
Very pleasant sound,
Very good atmosphere, best for to listen in an afternoon! :)
As usual beautiful video indeed! :)
Is this LP a remastered edition?
Best!
Hi Raul, it's a 2007 reissue made in EU, probably in Czech Republic, but issued by a label called Lilith, i believe they are from Russia.
The original label was A&M Records.
By the way, check this live version of Wave performed in Costa Rica

Muito bom
Wicked.
Different from my CD. It's much more brilliant!
You must have a bad one, the CD sounds at least as good as this! Closest to the master is probably the 24-bit FLAC though. You can get the entire album for $18.
0:05 New Wave Bossa Nova source spotted.
so gently so fragile ;]
The Oscar Peterson version, please...
COPACABANA ITS WAITING U!!!
Brasilsilsil!
Why does this lovely music make me want to ride elevators?
Arrasou viadoooo
i have this on cd ,the cd is awful
Só o demônio entende essas propagandas do RUclips!
A song like this evokes so many feelings in me. This genius is gone now, but his music will live on forever I hope. A song like this one makes me feel very depressed and happy all at once. Depressed because it reminds me of the nostalgia of good days past, the endless possibilities of youth which we often waste. And happy that maybe tomorrow will be a better time for all, especially of the sorry state the world is in now. But the sad notes are all over this song, but there are just enough happy notes to hang on to some degree of optimism. With so much beauty and bountiful blessings in the world, why dos it all have to end one day? It just seems like such a pity: you're born, you attain/achieve, and then can't take any of it with you? Where is the sense in that? This life seems to be all about loss. That's how this song makes me feel, but it is a masterpiece.
