Riot has always tried to do good by their fans honestly, and they seem to listen to what critics and fans have to say about their games and shows. So that tweet doesn't surprise me the bit. They have some of the most clever people working at this company.
This is what makes supporting Riot so difficult at times, their greediness and scumminess regarding some of their games is both blatant and saddening, however, their ability to support and communicate with the community is really great. Especially when constructive criticism is able to make it to the top and lead to changes in the games. Take for example that large Reddit post earlier this year regarding League's events, it got so much traction that Riot's CEO even offered the OP a job...
@@gabbyn.3049 i mean every fcking businessman would go for this and not mind the word greed. It's just opportunity every now and then when they get the hang of it. There's not a single large company that I know of who isn't greedy. They all take the risk m8.

Riots only "toxicity" is just the tryhard children who get angry at games and wanna take it out on other people. I run a community that's had hundreds of league players in it, and if they were toxic I'd just.. talk to them about why its bad? if they didn't get it, they were removed. Toxicity isn't a natural state, it's because of streamers who make money off of it because others find it funny so they wanna run with it. Balance team has issues, but it's a team that's working with alot of different sources to think about. Low-level play / High-level play / Pro-play / Casual-play. They balance for all categories, and if they could simply have a high elo / pro play queue and a low elo / casual play queue that would change alot. But if they split communities like that it would be.. difficult. It's not easy. I'm unhappy with balance alot of the time, I think thematic design of champions is a bigger issue but- I still play league the most out of every game. Riot as a company has "issues" because their a company. But as someone who follows a METRIC shitton of rioters... Trust me when I say it's not that bad *now*. These past 3 years Riots been fixing itself, and hiring / improving the workspace for female employees alot. Most of them I talk too will literally say that, loudly. (Can't throw some under the bus cause they technically break ndas but- a female employee who left and who I'm friends with on her discord account actually talked in depth about how she loved her office work enviroment. Corporate bullshit never influenced them beyond giving them tasks and she felt like they had absolute freedom to do what they wanted. She was an artist though, and she loved it.) Most rioters play the game, know the game, fuck their giving their opinions directly to the sources as we are. They talk to players, interact with players, their on TWITTER. Slong as you treat them as *people* and not *rioters* they will talk to you about their job (as much as they can outside of confidentiality for like y'know obvious reasons.) and if anyone wants to go "confidentiality bad" do you know how many games are trying to ripp off league ideas once theres a leak? I love riot, looking forward to the mmo, just wanting better in some areas. But I know the Legends of runeterra and TFT teams are doing their best, and their who I care about the most.
I actually watched arcane the other day and i was surprised! Especially the part were they are on the prison bus and the other inmate says "See! I told ya, it's League of legends" and everyone starts chanting "League of legends" while stomping their feet, that part was profound and deep.
Glad to see that Riot is recognizing Asmon's influence. Game companies should do this more often. Although these youtubers are mostly putting out clickbait content or bad reactions, they are just mere gamers that wants your game to improve for the greater good of many and they should hear them and the opinion of people. AND FUCK BLIZZARD! You are not invited in parties!
They have always done this, and acknowledge their fanbase. I was watching one of the smaller streamers on twitch the other day watching her play Valorant, and lo and behold after one of her games, someone from Riot drops in on her stream, tells her he likes that she provides a good game experience for her team and literally gifts her a riot fist bump - which is very hard to get. Say what you want about riot, but I am sure I am not the only one who has seen or experienced this firsthand - Disguised toast has already experienced it, the fighting game community has already experienced it. But these are the kinds of things that Riot do which give them a lot of leeway with their player base.
you know arcane is good when you know nothing about the game but can still comprehend the characters and dont need to know them ingame to enjoy the show
Its funny how people praise Riot when they did and still do scummy shit as bad or worse as blizzard, just because their MMO might be good and because Arcane was a good show. Also look up about Marc Merrill
sure they got in a lawsuit too, but they do a better job with their IP, also i dont know man, that an employee commits suicide because she was treated like shit from a coworker thats a new low really hard to beat.
Yeah but the way they handle it are so professional. Instead of keep apologizing and make fake promises, they handle it quitely while keep working on their projects
I think RIOT still hires for skill and not for race and gender and this is why their products stay good. Also they are much better with communicating with the community and they also know how to give good stuff to the community like cinematics, music, and now netflix show witch was a huge risk yet they did it. Even if they knew it was good nothing guaranteed profit or success.
I never understand why people are saying the Riot Balance Team is bad? Like I get it, the game is really frustrating and addicting, it is basically designed to get addicted, and people tend to blame the balancing, but if you keep in mind that the game has currently ~100 million daily active players with 161 different champions people are obviously crying for buffs or nerfs or straight out blame the balance team when in fact the balance team in League is doing a really good job. Over the decade the meta shifted alot and in my opinion it's a really healthy concept for a game to do so, because it forces (or rather encourages) you to adapt your playstyle so the game doesn't get boring for the vast majority of the playerbase. Of course some champs are a bit overpowered sometimes, but not to the point that the game is unplayable (the last time was yeeears ago when Xin Zhao got released). And if a champ is too strong in terms of numbers it gets hotfixed in the matter of a few hours. What could be done better is the punishment for griefers/flamers (while I know from NA friends that the problem isn't so big overseas, it's really a problem in EU and KR). League is just a game that's emotionally gut-wrenching at times, but that's because people are really emotionally invested into the game. While League is the major Riot game there is also TFT, LoR and Valorant, which are all close to perfect balanced.
League balance is fine. People just feel a lot of frustration trying to climb and don't know exactly what to blame because the real reason really complex, so they say it's balance. I love coach curtis analysis of his clients about that, he says that for example a hypothetical malzahar player can have a naturally smooth climb untill plat 4 because of how the game works until there, but after they reach that point he needs to change his playstyle and start doing things that aren't that as fun as what he did before if he wants to keep up with the game pace after platinum. That creates a feeling of betrayal, because he start noticing flaws in his champion that were never abused by lesser skilled players, and now he has a disparity between what he though was his champion's identity and what it really is after you climb to higher elos.
Marc is a gamer through and through, just as excited about this stuff as we are. I had the pleasure of interviewing with him and we were talking about how we both have dining room tables we've never sat at because we eat at our computers. He is really down to earth. :)
Arcane is really good because they actually have really good writing. Yes, the voice actors are good and yes the animation is done well, but the writing is amazing.

@@gamerkev30 I honestly think at some point league is just too competitive and a time-sink to retain players. Kids will always find something new, and I personally fell off the game in 2019 after 7 years; started back in college.
there is a difference here, see. Riot Games can make Blizzard Entertainment a bad example and learn from their mistakes and prepare beforehand. That's their advantage
Eventually it could happen but lets not forget that all things will eventually come to an end. Even if we were to follow the blizzard timeline for the Riot mmo we would still be getting the basegame along with 3 full expansions before the game would start to fall. Riot also have the oppertunity to study the decline of wow and what was done to the game in that time to find a way to avoid it for aslong as possable. No game last forever.

I was excited for LoL mmo and asked for one 7 or 8 years ago as someone who has played LoL since beta and also an avid MMO player. Im now so stoked and cant wait for the MMO even for the story of all the champs and lore and ive never cared about lore for any game but they do an amazing job!
True, the world of Runeterra is so well set lore-wise it's just waiting for the MMO
Its funny you say that. I have never cared about the Lore in any game ever. I could care less to be honest, I watched Arcane as I was bored one day and the MMO has me exited and I actually may pay attention to the Lore of it.
@@wildsidemb6477 yeah im the same way but ive invested so much time into league since its start and naturally learned bits and pieces of it arcane got me super excited
One of the best things about Arcane is that it's just a really really good story and you need NO prior knowledge of any of the characters
But for those that do know the characters, it's like finding a piece of candy every now and then, maybe understanding finally why this character went this way in the future etc.
people watching arcane blind: wow, ooh that guy looks cool! whoa whose that guy?! do it girlboss!

funny how Blizzard treated asmongold like annoying toe fungus while square-enix, intrepid and riotgames are smart enough to realize simply treating him like a human being gets them credit (and free money).
You literally have no excuse not to do something if the founder of the company tweets at you to do it.
"Fuck you I won't do what ya' tell me"
Dude really? Arcane was a masterpiece, you get to see so much feelings from a cartoon and the animation is outstanding!!! As for the story? Harley queen tv is nothing compare to jinx!!!
Jinx gives me both Harley+Joker vibe
Ehhhhh, apples/oranges, I think. Wild Rift Jinx is definitely Harley-esque, but *Arcane* Jinx is closer to Ledger's joker, just with a bunch of tragedy added on top.
We don't really get to see the Harley-esque Jinx that we see in LoL, and *certainly* not the kind of Jinx that we see in the Wild Rift trailer that just wants to play with everyone.

Tryndamere is actually one of the most down to Earth CEOs out there. I remember when he went on Reckful's podcast years ago, left out a great impression.
He's so down to earth that he's gold.
Riot Games is the only sane gaming company in PC landscape right now.
Riot has always tried to do good by their fans honestly, and they seem to listen to what critics and fans have to say about their games and shows. So that tweet doesn't surprise me the bit. They have some of the most clever people working at this company.
I still havent emotionally recovered from watching Arcane 8 months ago lol.
"greediness"
I can totally see the scum part but why greed? Greed is the last thing you'd expect from a company like Riot.
@@gabbyn.3049 i mean every fcking businessman would go for this and not mind the word greed. It's just opportunity every now and then when they get the hang of it. There's not a single large company that I know of who isn't greedy. They all take the risk m8.
@@mikedanielsapon5865 Yeah but nearly all of their products give the customers a choice, to buy it or not, and it doesn't hamper the progress of any of their games whatsoever. Hell, they even allow certain music videos to be free of copyright.

People who are surprised when a for profit companies main goal is to make money, just cant be reasoned with.
Arcane is very good. Amazing animation, great story and voice acting make it one of the best shows ever on Netflix.
Well that's one way to convince someone to watch Arcane, just have the CEO tweet him to do so😅 (no but seriously, Arcane's really good).

Arcane is one of the best shows I have ever watched.. Do it, its breaking bad level.

Arcane is a must watch, come on Asmon!
Arcane is literally a perfect show.
I hope he'll watch Arcane and then watch Bridging the Rift on stream. Would love to see his reaction and thoughts about the show and how they made it.
I would really like to hear his thoughts on Arcane and the lore behind LoL and the other games. I never played them myself and was very surprised to learn about all of it.
Bow to the neet lord.
Riot is leagues away (pun intended) in terms of treating their creators compared to Blizzard.
I'm unhappy with balance alot of the time, I think thematic design of champions is a bigger issue but-
I still play league the most out of every game.
She was an artist though, and she loved it.)
Most rioters play the game, know the game, fuck their giving their opinions directly to the sources as we are. They talk to players, interact with players, their on TWITTER.
Slong as you treat them as *people* and not *rioters* they will talk to you about their job (as much as they can outside of confidentiality for like y'know obvious reasons.)
and if anyone wants to go "confidentiality bad" do you know how many games are trying to ripp off league ideas once theres a leak?
I love riot, looking forward to the mmo, just wanting better in some areas.
But I know the Legends of runeterra and TFT teams are doing their best, and their who I care about the most.
We meme about them, and they took it in stride. U heard about the new Udyrs voiceline?
I love that the add playing for this video when I watched it was for World of Warcraft.
Ofcourse it's only wise to go through to Asmongold in order to reach out a much bigger audience.

Best part of Arcane was the seeing a Yordle Gimp. Fucking. Hot.

I actually watched arcane the other day and i was surprised! Especially the part were they are on the prison bus and the other inmate says "See! I told ya, it's League of legends" and everyone starts chanting "League of legends" while stomping their feet, that part was profound and deep.
arcane is insanely good
Glad to see that Riot is recognizing Asmon's influence.
Riot staff can be quite sweet sometimes. I remember some content creators got a direct support from them, even supporting the reaction only channels
Arcane had no right to be this good. Idk.. Fortiche and Riot outdid themselves on it. Like seriously this shit is wild.
you know arcane is good when you know nothing about the game but can still comprehend the characters and dont need to know them ingame to enjoy the show
They are wanting a new poster boy for when the mmo comes out
Its funny how people praise Riot when they did and still do scummy shit as bad or worse as blizzard, just because their MMO might be good and because Arcane was a good show.

Its possible, especially with the way League of Legends is going. People have been leaving the game over the past few years.

there is a difference here, see.
