I bought one for my first car back in February. It had 140,000 miles on it, I’ve took it to 157,000 now and it’s not had any major faults at all. Just wear and tear on the rear brakes, tyres and corrosion on the door sills. It needed an oil service when I bought it as it hadn’t had a service stamp for over 50,000 miles. After the service it drove like it was new. So yeah you sure can get one as a first car, but maybe not the petrol ones as they’re so much more to insure.
This 2.2 is the same engine as the freelander it's good for many 100k once u service them the x type was a very good car but pure bloods could not get past ford

He doesnt tell if the boot has a plug in for a cool box or if its got the plug in the back which is what i wanted to see & also is there air conditioning in the back? Does anyone know if it has roof holes for a roof box

The 2.7 v6 diesel in the s type is a more refined engine shame they didn’t put it in the x type
It is, is that the same engine they developed with Citroen for the C6?

Yeah I think for being a Jaguar especially, I would look under 80k miles for this Jaguar. It isn't the most reliable.
@Panthera Metal The owner of this diesel X type achieves around 38-40mpg. It is pretty smooth but the rear seats are not the biggest for 4 passengers.
On 182 000 with my 2009 2.2...still smooth and powerful...but it has always been fully serviced....that's v important if yr looking at higher miles

I'm on 210,000 The main parts I've replaced in the last 70,000 miles is water pump, ball joints and tie rod.

Hi. It isn't the Freelander BMW unit. Probably get it confused with the Rover 75. This is the Ford Mondeo/ Transit unit. 🙃
@@alextoft9199 the freelander 1 which was from 98 to 06 was the m47r bmw unit the freelander 2 was the 2.2 ford unit

you can add a roof accessories, its not got air con in the rear (of this model anyways). no plug in boot either
