Making a Real Demon Slayer Set of Katana Mountings from Scratch to Completion （日英）

In this movie length documentary, under the guidance of a master Japanese sword fittings maker, Izumi Koushiro sensei, we make all the fittings for the full set of mountings. The tsuba (sword-guard), fuchi-kashira (pommel and base of the handle), the kojiri (chape of the scabbard), a koi-guchi ring for the mouth of the scabbard. The parts are then passed to traditionally trained Japanese sword craftsmen to make the groundwork of mountings (koshirae; saya (scabbard) and tsuka (hilt), the lacquering of the scabbard, and the lacquering and wrapping of the tsuka. The result is a fully functional katana mounting made with traditional materials and methods that would make a real demon slayer proud!
