Hello, didn't expect to see this video, kinda surprised me a bit! I am the person who made just about all of these (minus the enchantment/exhume sounds and the polterghast sounds), and I'm glad people seem to like them. One of Terraria modding's biggest lacking features for me has always been sound, which is surprising to me considering how few people seem to pay attention to it despite its importance in determining the weight, texture, and qualities of things. There's a kind of reaction when you see the sound met with the visuals that really brings in that missing feature and completes the set. I just like that people are starting to acknowledge this slightly more obscure field that people tend to subconsciously absorb more.
My favorite sounds out of the bunch I made for Calamity definitely goes to the boss rush sounds, I was able to distort my own screams, whispering, and twisted magic effects into something pretty visceral and fitting for what is seemingly the final challenge for the mod.

I saw this video and just found your comment. And i must say i'm really impressed! I am really planning on getting it as i love these kind of like, slight sounds that make anything better, for example the boss rush activation that really makes you feel, warned, from what you're getting into. Thanks for that!

I love the small detail of being able to hear Draedon's Laughter when you place the Auric Quantum Cooling Cell into the Codebreaker

3:50 I swear the plague sound has a lead pipe falling in it
That would be the plague sound, it does have that funny lead pipe sound in the background of it (low passed and reverberated to bring out its resonance more as an underlying ambience for the exploding/bubbling sounds)

I really like the leviathan spawn sound, helps make up for the lack of nice visuals to show the massive beast emerging from the sea.
I love the quiet 'clack clack clack' that the codebreaker makes when you put the auric cooling cell in. Honestly the exo mechs making that noise instead of just generic robot sounds is such a vibe. Makes them feel far more dangerous and otherworldly.
It's also a slight indication that you can fight draedon now (it kinda sounds like his laugh but distorted), all of these sounds are really well done!
Out of all Codebreaker sounds Voltage Regulation One is my favorite
i love the fact that storm weaver’s spawn sound sounds like DoG’s spawn sound but shortened

Sound is one of those things in games that you don't notice if its done well, but amazes you when you appreciate it.
I love the astral meteor simply because of the way the distant echo sounds
and that it sounds like a normal star, but bigger
I thought it was the release of spirits of light and dark
Not sure how I feel about the exos spawn sound and the new block mining sounds but certainly a creative risk for calamity to take to try and broaden the sound range. I do think Terraria already has masterful sounds, so it will take time getting used to. But whether or not new sounds will eventually feel misplaced or feel unnoticed (thus well-implemented because unless you actively listen for it, it should sound natural) will come with time.
Wow. Didn't expect the person who inspired me to be here, love your content man! But also yeah I agree, It's certainly a new way for calamity to go, it will DEFINITELY need some getting used to. But regardless, all of these sounds are well done, I'm happy that they were implemented.

The new Auric ore mining sound effects definitely caught me by surprise
I was mining ingame and it definitely caught me off guard!
@@DestructoGabe8 yeah i was just flying around destroying the roof of hell with the luiafk improved drill mount, then i suddenly hear a brand new sound effect and go "WHAT WAS THAT"
sweeping through the large clusters of auric ore is definitely more satisfying now
Auric Tesla Ore freaked me tf out when I started mining it. All of a sudden I just EXPLODE while fighting off some Hornets.

Defiantly the exo mech hit sound it actually sounds like a weapon is hitting a very tough piece of armor covering a war machine unlike the vanilla metal hit sound and the jump and stomp sound from ravager it sounds like some massive unrelenting war machine jumping 20 feet in the air but the stomp sounds like a fearsome beast stomping so hard it crumbles the ground beneath it
i physically cannot pick a favourite they all sound fucking amazing, fantastic job my dude.

Funny how I didn't discover this video way earlier when I should have, but if you're reading this comment, then hello! I'm the one behind the enchant and exhume sounds.
You're welcome, those were some of my first rather serious attempts at utilizing samples and warping them in ways that made something powerful.
Although the exhume sound can definitely forego the small buildup at the start, everything else I'm pretty satisfied with.
I think they both came out great! Sound artists need more credit, you and Moonburn came out with some of the coolest sounds I've heard!

The only thing missing is what i think is Xeroc's roar, wjich is the same one wjen you activate deathmode (it happens alot during the boss rush)

I found this out a few months after this video was made, it's crazy that the Terraria deva had it as an unused sound!
