You can’t do much faster on 30% gradient with rack system. Well, You technically can, but it is question would You stop before the beach few kilometers from the last station. 😂

@@RailRelaxationO trajeto da linha e a vista do Cristo são deslumbrantes. Acredite se quiser, esse tipo de cremalheira era o mesmo das antigas linhas dos trens que seguiam para Petrópolis ou Teresópolis. Ambas só não eram eletrificadas como a do Corcovado.
@pedrogomes4491 imagina, seria tão bom poder andar nestas ferrovias antigas do Brasil. Já tem algumas destas linhas antigas funcionando como linhas túristicas, quem sabe, um dia...

Well here in the US three phase requires three wires only seeing two wires overhead I assume that the third leg is the track here that would normally be placed at Ground potential unless it were in an isolated tunnel subway system so has two legs in the air and one leg at Ground potential here it would normally be considered to be split phase @@GiuseppeMichieli

Seems odd to have placed the intermediate stations next to passing loops but not on them; can only slow traffic!
This is because the station is only on one side of the track. There would be no way to cross the track if the station was put on the loop.
