    Legend! 👏 Saw him live in Berlin and got to meet him after the concert. 😍 He is defently one of the most musicial players around, also a technical visionary and most importantly, so down to earth and polite. ✌ So honored, that I had the opportunity to a have a conversation with one of my gratest idols! 😌 The best. 🙏

    this is amazingly comprehensive and thorough. great teaching style. been drumming for like 25+ yrs and have neglected disciplining ghost notes and bass pedal work. it’s always been one of the main distinctions in drumming that amazes and intimidates me. peeps say my playing reminds them of Copeland, which is bonkers and humbling. but i def know that Copeland would mop the floor with me cuz he has that discipline, which i have lacked and am just now taking more seriously.
    anyway, props for dope vid. stay hydrated. ✌️

    I'm not a drummer (wish I was) but love watching drummers at work. Saw Nate for the first time at the Java Jazz Festival 2023 in Jakarta a few weeks go. He blew my mind. Wow. I saw a genius in his element. Am a new fan. Thank you for this video. Wonderful.

      The resbit to time check at the top of the bar is how one resets and stays locked in. Sizzle-snap, ruff to accent. However you get there...let ring with the soloing limb then time check and some predetermined place in the bar(90%of the time it’s on the 1)

  • @johnpop5066
    @johnpop5066 2 года назад +2

    All these "every drummer should know" vids are a bit much, so in total, every drummer should know 2-3-4 or 5 of every great drummers beats!
    Drummers should be making their own beats how's that!
    They should also be making their own music, I don't know who you all think is going to be calling you and the expectation that an audition to play with other people is going to result in anything other than sitting in with others making their own music.
    Do your own auditions of musicians who might want to play the music you create together.

      I think you may be taking the title of these videos a bit too literally, my dude. It's more in the spirit of "look at these examples of skilled drummers, learn from what they are doing and incorporate it into your own playing", in my opinion. Of course, I may be wrong, but that's my take on these "must know/should know/got to see" type of videos.
