That ending took me out!! Keke wanted to jump out her body, August 26th!! “We’re sisters!” Uzi was like wait are you serious? Keke loves some astrology chile. 😂😂😂😂
I've recently have had so much trouble embracing my hair, and how I look with it because it's not the "standard" but hearing strong, beautiful women like you talk about "it's okay" makes it easier to do and be myself !! Thank you
As a former makeup and hair artist in L.A. i cant count how many times i had to replace mua and hair stylists that didnt know how to do non straight hair or didnt bother to have a deep range of colors in their makeup kits - even when the client requested a black artist. unfortunately i had to school young models not to expect to see artists that knew what they were doing and that many times the hair person especially would cover themselves by complaining about the talent being difficult. So so infuriating.
I’m so glad the scene in nope was brought up I brought my little sister to see this movie and after it was over she rolled the window down and let her natural hair blow in the wind just like that scene and giggled.😊
i loved this conversation. it has me thinking: natural styles are powerful and that is likely why its met with so much disdain. If a woman (attorney or not lol) is wearing a fro, you know what - they are commanding my attention. its automatic and my gaze is lasting. I think the desire to suppress black women's voices and innate power...make her as small and as insignificant as possible - the fro stands in conflict with that edict. idk... i think thats why society at large has a problem with it. same for locs and other natural styles. besides how gorgeous they are - they command attention and respect and society has a problem with that
