I was going to look at it today (yesterday, as it's after midnight) but there was a problem with it running on Geforce Now. I'm going to take another look tomorrow as it appeared to be back up this afternoon.
If Windows mode arrives, that is, PC mode and that you can connect peripherals such as the keyboard, rest assured that many or more of the PC will make it easier to switch to Xbox and PC would be in a tight trouble
It will be once the new Edge browser is a bit more stable and useable. I expect it to be available generally a bit later this year so as long as MS don't block this in some way, it'll be bloody brilliant.
In theory yes. The game has limited controller support so it should work but as Edge on the Xbox doesn’t currently support the use of mice you might have some issues. Hopefully this will be resolved moving forward, though.
Microsoft will not block this. The ability to use all platforms from their device will give them a very big "Edge" over the competition. See what I did there? 😉
Xbox has an Edge over Sony May not be right Stats ____________ Their PS5 is = near to an RTX 3060 with 16 GB ram 8-core, 16-thread Geforce now has or close to = RTX 4080 with 28GB RAM ( where I live I has the upgraded server ) 16 cores, 32 threads = may not be right
I’ve not tried yet but it may be a bit clunky for now due to how early the build of Edge is. It’s a complete remake of Half Life and it’s bloody brilliant.
@@JoeChip long story short I got a new MacBook and got a bunch of steam games that were compatible. I don't understand why Microsoft just doesn't go ahead and make XBOX mouse and keyboard compatible. If Windows 10 and XBOX use the same kernal, they it would just be a matter of preferences for XBOX. They have been half hinting for about a decade that they are open to it.

@@whothou Your whole reply is a load of bollocks! There are lots of console players that would like to use m&k.. for good reasons!! Players have been asking for years (hence Microsoft has been hinting at it for years)!! Look up all the m&k adapters for consoles. Razor even has m&k setup special for use with XBOX. Not only that but with Microsoft all access, more and more games will be played either via PC or Console. "if people want universal m&k, then play pc" is a pretty laughable! That's equal to saying that people on pc shouldn't want to use a controller! If you want a controller, then you should use a console!
It’s great! But please note for many people: You can’t use mods for games (workshop), there is a big queue for games, only a limited session for playing, and you must still pay for the games.

Hi. I'm Korea Xbox Gamer^^ I'd like to inquire about two things. 1. Can Steam's "Death Stranding" also be played? 2. I'd like to share this news with Korean Xbox gamers, can I use your video partially for my videos? Thanks^^
Been waiting for this. Was only trying this the other day lol didn't get far thinking edge doesn't support geforce now. Yea controls gonna be an issue thought as much.
Yeah, I’ve tried it a few times but it never worked with the previous Edge browser. It definitely works now but it’s going to need to become easier to use before people can play games for fun with it. And, as you say, controls could be an issue. If the new Edge browser gets mouse support, it’ll really open it up, though.
I just want to use Gary’s mod but I only have a Intel MacBook Pro with MacOS 13 Ventura, the last version that can run 32-but software is 10.13 Mojave, so this would be useful.
Gaming pc can connect to the xbox and you can play your steam games on the xbox but of course you need the pc up and running so some may see it being pointless but it's just a fun novelty
Do you get audio? Is input lag noticeable? Also, can you get into Steam overlay to edit bindings for the controller (that could solve the mouse problem by the way)? You reeeally need to do a more in depth video! Also please set Edge as default browser so you can have full screen!
Yes, this was really just a first look. It's easy to set edge as the default browser but it keeps resetting and asking you to set it again (the joy of alpha builds). I also left it up, so that it would be harder for the one guy who always comes on these things trying to claim it's fake 😉😂. Input lag wasn't overly noticeable, at least on this occasion. I only played a couple of games, though, and wasn't really testing that. Streaming can always be very hit and miss in this area anyway. The slightest thing can introduce lag. The whole thing is really quite clunky at present and this video took me hours to record as Edge is in such an unfinished state on Xbox currently. I will make future videos, though. Oh, and yeah, you do get audio. I actually had to turn the audio down during the recording at one point as I thought it might be being picked up by my mic. Great comment by the way. It is but the Edge Browser is still buggy currently (which is to be expected as it’s still in alpha). It’ll get better before it’s made more widely available. I just hope they add mouse support.
I've not really tried but I suspect that will be very limited due to this being the Xbox. As for listening to music in the background, the Xbox does allow for you to play Spotify in the background. I know that's not what you were asking specifically but it should be workable, though I've not tested it while using the Edge Browser yet.
Wreckfest played ok for me, without too much lag. Same with Quake RTX (though the control layout was all over the place). Maybe I just got lucky, though.

I was going to look at it today (yesterday, as it's after midnight) but there was a problem with it running on Geforce Now. I'm going to take another look tomorrow as it appeared to be back up this afternoon.
I connected my steam to GeForce now but it would not show my games so I pressed the resync button and it still wouldn’t work
Anyone else have the same problem where it gets stuck on the agree and continue screen
yes
Did you guys resolve this problem? I know the solution

If Windows mode arrives, that is, PC mode and that you can connect peripherals such as the keyboard, rest assured that many or more of the PC will make it easier to switch to Xbox and PC would be in a tight trouble
You can use a keyboard just not a mouse (yet). In fact, I needed a keyboard to input my Steam and Geforce Now passwords.
Wow that is awesome
It will be once the new Edge browser is a bit more stable and useable. I expect it to be available generally a bit later this year so as long as MS don't block this in some way, it'll be bloody brilliant.
@@JoeChip is Will has an Edge over Sony PS5 due to their is no browser on their system
So they may turn to Xbox to play PC games

Arma 3? Bloody hell, you’re braver than me.

Yea agreed ppl will flock to that video in droves see it even more so if he plays Horizon
Im more intrested in in house gaming ,using pc on xbox and xbox remote play on pc is a way to get full microsoft in house environment
If bloodborne comes to steam, I won’t need a PlayStation since I will play it on Xbox 😈
Nope because It won't be on geforce now.
Heads up everyone. They are unlocking it very soon. Just announced Xbox players will be able to access it after a new update.
Has it been released yet?
Yeah
Does this mean I'll be able to play Valheim on my Series x?
In theory yes. The game has limited controller support so it should work but as Edge on the Xbox doesn’t currently support the use of mice you might have some issues. Hopefully this will be resolved moving forward, though.
@@JoeChip Wow that would be amazing! Thanks
There is one problem, the Edge Browser won't support multiply controllers, so you cant play couch multiplayer games.
Sad
Microsoft will not block this. The ability to use all platforms from their device will give them a very big "Edge" over the competition. See what I did there? 😉
*laughs to death*
😂😂😂
Xbox has an Edge over Sony
May not be right
Stats
____________
Their PS5 is = near to an RTX 3060 with 16 GB ram
8-core, 16-thread
Geforce now has or close to = RTX 4080 with 28GB RAM ( where I live I has the upgraded server )
16 cores, 32 threads = may not be right
@@Stormlywing it was a joke because of the "Edge" browser dummy.
Dude, the possibilities are demential
Yep
Any idea how the original half life and half life 2 run on this? Does it work with a controller and have good inputs to use if so?
.
I’ve not tried yet but it may be a bit clunky for now due to how early the build of Edge is. It should get better over time, and if a game supports a controller in Steam it should do in Geforce Now too.
Incidentally, have you checked out Black Mesa? It’s a complete remake of Half Life and it’s bloody brilliant.
@@JoeChip long story short I got a new MacBook and got a bunch of steam games that were compatible. (black Mesa and half life collection included) and found out the new OS for mac takes away 32 bit support making games unplayable that used to be. So.... I’ve owned all the half life titles and haven’t been able to play a single level. If I could play them on my series x it would be a god send
@@liltilt9484 Well let’s hope this functionality continues and improves as the new Edge browser gets closer to full release on the Xbox. If it does, then you could very well be enjoying your Half Life games again.
Black Mesa is so bloody good. I just wish they’d sort out the final levels as I couldn’t finish it due to crashes.
@@JoeChip thanks for the response boss, great channel I just subscribed 💯
Finally, I'll be able to play Postal 2 on console, something previously thought impossible

@@anthonypeterson42 When other games work, why wouldn‘t they too?
I don't understand why Microsoft just doesn't go ahead and make XBOX mouse and keyboard compatible. If Windows 10 and XBOX use the same kernal, they it would just be a matter of preferences for XBOX. They have been half hinting for about a decade that they are open to it.
it is...for some games... But Console players do not want people using m&k on their games.. And for good reason..
if people want universal m&k, then play pc
Wtf i feel bad for Sony now lmao 🤣
I'm not, it's because PS fanboy always trash talks Microsoft and Xbox. They got destroyed now and they deserve it
Make an updated video of this one, the app is now available to everyone
Geforce Now still doesn't work with Chromium Edge. I just checked.

Cool vid Joe thanks. Tried Stadia and Shadow? Maybe they would also work.
Cheers Nick.
I tried Stadia but not Shadow. Stadia actually worked well in the short time I had with it. I’m going to give it another look over the next few days and might put a video out about it if I think it’ll be interesting.
Some interesting news, shadow filed for bankruptcy. But they're reorganizing and seek for investment to continue the service. So I guess you're still try Shadow, I guess?
Can you check if you can install Progressive Web Apps. Click the three dotted menu > Apps > Install site as an App. Want to see if it pins a title on the app list and wraps the site in it's own window (no browser tabs)

I’m not sure why you added all of the extra laughing. I give it 6/10 nice job!
This is cool but why did you record the entire video without dismissing the default browser prompt?
It’s a glitch. Everytime I tried dismissing it before recording, it came back again. In the end I just gave up and recorded the video. Hopefully it’ll be one of the things that is addressed before the new browser is rolled out more generally.
Wish you could play Gmod on Xbox thanks for helping me be able to play team fortress tho on my series x your the best buddy keep it up brotha !!!
Because I can't play on ge force now, even though I bought a priority subscription I also have a steam account and when I want to play it gives me that it doesn't support device😭😭😭
What version of Edge are you using?
Works on all Xbox like Xbox one S or X , or only on the Xbox Series X/S??? Thanks in advance. Was trying to get steam on my Xbox One S, just to play the new dragon ball.. don’t feel the need to buy the Series Xbox just for one game lol. So I was looking for alternatives to run the game
Look at settings maybe you can choose controllers

Cheers. Hope it works for you. I’d like to be a legend 😉😂
I wonder what Sony will do now since they're planning to release their games on steam
They might block them from being on Geforce Now. They wouldn't be the first company to do that.
Hi. I'm Korea Xbox Gamer^^
I'd like to inquire about two things.
@@JoeChip just gotta remember it's all in alpha stages, this is just the beginning.....
@@JoeChip and also was never meant to really be a thing until June 2021
Thanks bro, hi from Russia
I did it, pretty cool
How do I get the new version of Microsoft edge??
I just want to use Gary’s mod but I only have a Intel MacBook Pro with MacOS 13 Ventura, the last version that can run 32-but software is 10.13 Mojave, so this would be useful.
My hopes were shot down when you said that their was no mouse support on it
Yeah, that's very disappointing. Hopefully it'll be added later.
Gaming pc can connect to the xbox and you can play your steam games on the xbox but of course you need the pc up and running so some may see it being pointless but it's just a fun novelty
Yes, I actually made a video about that last year. It was very clunky, though.
You raise some really good points.
@@JoeChip Hey, thank *you* for such a detailed response! I forgot to add that to the comment but it was super hilarious to see you react to the thing.
So, I got a reply on Twitter from Modern Vintage Gamer, if you don't know him please check him out, but he's an expert and said he will also take a look at this streaming method.
Please try to test more games and experiment with Steam Overlay input configuration, and maybe experiment with bluetooth accessories like controllers, if you can. For the cracks and laughs, try running Sony games on it :)
@@wagnellesbarbosa7389 Some great ideas there. Be running the gauntlet to get PlayStation games running on the Xbox, though 😉
Modern Vintage Gamer is an absolute legend. I love his videos.
My problem is that Gforce now doesn't have many good games that are PC exclusives
Blame the publishers. Geforce Now is a great idea but publishers blocking you from streaming the games you own isn’t.
Thank you so much bro
I cant get into my geforce liberey its says geforce now accept and move on but the button doesnt work
The series x does allow keyboard and mouse compatibility :)
I know. I literally made a video talking about it yesterday.

So it works on Xbox one to
Hmm interesting. But is there a backwards capability? (X-Box games on pc)
Well, with Game Pass there is, yeah.
Yes actually.
that's great that the xbox uses the normal edge browser instead of some proprietary browser that barely works
It is but the Edge Browser is still buggy currently (which is to be expected as it’s still in alpha). It’ll get better before it’s made more widely available. I just hope they add mouse support.
Hey! Just a question, how do Web Progressive Apps work on it? And can you do things like calling/listening to music in the background?
I've not really tried but I suspect that will be very limited due to this being the Xbox. As for listening to music in the background, the Xbox does allow for you to play Spotify in the background. I know that's not what you were asking specifically but it should be workable, though I've not tested it while using the Edge Browser yet.
the games appear blurry, how can I fix it?
Pretty sure they blocked it from Nvidias side :/
playing a game via MS edge, I wonder how laggy it feels, it feels laggy to watch a youtube video using MS egde
Wreckfest played ok for me, without too much lag. Same with Quake RTX (though the control layout was all over the place). Maybe I just got lucky, though.
