i love how you used the main overworld theme as a leitmotif in a lot of these. really gives it that signature hydlide charm, since that melody has only ever been in hydlide and nothing else, as we all know
Thank you for your kind words! It was a fun exercise in motivic development, and I'm happy to hear that my efforts to redeem this old soundtrack by reworking its contents hasn't gone unnoticed.
very impressive! I really like the cave theme, its very atmospheric and does creative things with the instrument (imagine if metroid 2 had stuff like that 😩)
Oh that's a relief, for the longest time I thought the Cave/Dungeon theme was the worst part of this project 💀Super glad you saw some merit in it though, thank you for your support, JasCas!
Very happy to see this is completed, and it sounds great! This is what I'd imagine the composer for Shovel Knight would do if he was asked to remake the soundtrack like you did here. :)
You're too kind, I'm very honored to be compared to Jake Kaufman! (though my stuff doesn't quite measure up) Thank you for supporting me throughout my project! It's people like you who helped me see it through to the end.
I can't believe John Williams copied hit NES game Hydlide® (NES, 1986-1989) for some small indie film no one's ever heard of. ...oh yeah, the arrangements here are good, too!
And to think he also copied the main theme from A Boy and His Blob: Trouble on Blobolonia® (NES, 1989-1991). For shame, John... /j Thanks for checking out my music, man! Appreciate you

This is actually amazing! Making the whole OST from a couple very short and repetitive tunes.

seriously impressed at how period-authentic the sound design is in these songs
@@RT55J thank you!
Finally, JP orchestral-style music for a game which really needed it! The sound design and arrangements are much more in line with the era, too.
Thank you, and thank you for checking out my project!
Whimsical Indiana Jones. Awesome.

*obligatory Indiana Jones reference*
But all jokes aside, this is great.
Thank you for listening! Always appreciated when someone tunes into my Hydlide project
