DVC members since 2006. We have made many waitlists over that last 16 years. We always stalk and find the availability before the system does which is EXACTLY the reason we stalk.
About to close on my first DVC contract at Saratoga! I found your show when I was deep in my feels about cancelling my 2020 trip and listening to y’all’s passion for DVC over these past few years motivated me to make my lifelong dream a reality. Can’t wait to make my first reservation with my own points!
They have such a wonderful clay cafe at Saratoga and they will fire your pottery each night. It is a great place to go if the weather isn't great. The prices to do the clay pieces are very low, lower than back in Ohio.
In the conversation of using our points to stay on property and explore other central Florida attractions, that’s exactly what we do now. We stay at our home, OKW, rent a car and go. Maybe a day or two at Disney Parks, but the rest we do so much more now.
Paul! Aurora, OH Sea World! My most vivid childhood memories (aside from Cedar Point, Hershey Park and Kennywood) include being at Sea World, looking across the lake and wishing I was at Geauga Lake, and then being at Geauga Lake and seeing Sea World across the lake and wishing I was there! LOL.
Sea World was in Aroura Ohio! I went there as a kid and have never been to the one in Florida and would love to take my kid since ours in Ohio is closed.
for sure checking multiple times a day the DVC website got me multiple bookings at the Grand California, our home park is Disneyland but we own in Riviera, thanks for the tips.
As this is showing I have just checked 7 month availability. I can’t remember it being so good. I can book any resort i think in all studios including studios in Copper Creek and Grand Floridian apart from Beach Club where I can get a 1 bed. Even Boardwalk standard 1 bed. I am therefore at a bit of a loss to the claims in this show that it’s challenging to get anything at 7 months.
I saw that show at Seaworld also and it was amazing. I was so shocked. I had seen shows at Universal for their Halloween party and of course Disney but that seaworld show blew them all out of the water!
I booked my Aulani trip at 11month for a island view and then changed to the pool view at 7th with the purchase of one time use points. If the pool view room was gone, oh well, island view for me.
I just checked for both studios and one bedrooms for the third week in January and there is limited availability that week. Saratoga had a few things for the one bedroom. I think the secret is out about January - at least for DVC being one of the cheaper points times to go! We will be there over MLKJ weekend and I’m already bracing for the crowds. Wondering when “revenge travel” will finally wind down.
Definitely use DVC without going to Disney World. It’s not worth the aggravation right now when other theme parks are not as restrictive or crowded. We have stayed at both Old Key West and Saratoga Springs, prefer Old Key West. Saratoga Springs does have a slightly better location and the views of Disney Springs at night are amazing. The only drawbacks are the size of the resort (it’s huge) and cleanliness of the HVAC. We’ve stayed at Saratoga Springs three times and only the first visit (while construction was still going on) didn’t result in someone coming down with a respiratory illness. We have stayed in August 2005, January 2009, and September 2017. I know it was recently refurbished, but they have to get a better cleaning schedule for the HVAC system. Other than that first trip, always a lot of dust on the grates and in the ducts themselves. We have not encountered this issue at any other resort that we have stayed at over the years, just at Saratoga Springs. We have stayed at nearly every DVC resort (only missing Riviera, Aulani, and Vero Beach) and we can say that they are worth the investment. Orlando has so many things to offer that are not at Walt Disney World, but it is always nice to check in and hear the catchphrase, “Welcome home”😁
I absolutely agree that DVC users are staying at the resort and either doing a resort stay or going to universal The week if thanksgiving and after Resorts booked but dining has openings I've never seen that correlation
Great tips. I have been a member at Animal Kingdom since 2011 and never used any of these tips but I will in the future now that all the travel restrictions are over.
We've had awful experiences with wait list. In 6 years we have never gotten a wait list. Anywhere from 3 days to 7 days. So not sure what we are doing wrong but we have given up with waitlist. Though we love our home resort. Oo also booking that first week of December so maybe that's why?? Well have to check that Facebook list!
Sorry. I am sooooo late for this video. The problem with a split stay is trying to book dining at the 60-day window. I love splitting between our Home Resort (Kidani) and an EPCOT resort, but it requires TWO separate sixty-day window booking days. In other words, MDE (and even calling DVC) recognizes your resort stay as TWO separate stays. So for the 2nd DVC reservation, you have to wait again for the 60-day mark to complete the rest of your dining reservations.
At the Beach Club as I type this. The resort, of course, is great. Was at Epcot, and what a mess. At any given time, at least three rides were down, pushing the crowds to the few attractions that were open. Also, the continued downsizing of portions is very noticeable, as are the price increases. People were noticing and talking about it. Cast members have been very friendly and wonderful, though. They know folks are not always happy and do what they can to make it better. We've been going to WDW since 1982 and have been DVC members since 2001. We're seriously considering changing how we vacation at Disney - looking at just staying at the resorts and avoiding the theme parks. Sad to see what it's become.
I believe Monster Stomp a few years back. Did perform at the California Great America Theme Park in Santa Clara, California. During their Halloween Celebration.

I joined DVC because I spent a lot of time listening to your show.. thank you for your wonderful advice…
I'll never forget my stay at Old Key West. Criminally underrated. Completely fell in love with the resort.

We are doing this exact thing this Thanksgiving. Staying on points and going to universal

I was able to book a Poly bungalow through DVC Rental Store just a few months before my September 2022 stay. Thanks!
Nooooooo staaaahp sending folks to SSR and OKW. We like our quiet neighborhoods.

I don’t go to Seaworld because of their Orcas breeding program. I know they ended that but they still have shows using the Orcas.
Sea World was in Aurora outside of Cleveland. I went as a child

not a fan of split stays because you lose a day basically. Who wants another "travel" day
I have had much more success 'stalking the system' than with a waitlist request.
Nooooo Amy, they did have a Sea World in Cleveland. I have a picture of me as a kid there in the 90s as proof lol. Paul is right!!!!
Hi, my name is Dee and I'm a professional DVC stalker.
Question? Do I lose DVC benefits if I buy through 3rd Party such as yourself
AND … Big Fat Panda ❤️ … introduce him correctly!!!😉
Good morning people. And I subscribed to panda
You definitely dont have to buy where you want to stay... bad info
Please explain why. Thanking you in advance.
