Buying without a plan has definitely been my biggest downfall. I would think, oh, i'll figure it out when I can go through my closet and then I ended up feeling like the piece was so out of place for my lifestyle and the rest of my wardrobe... I just liked the piece and the fantasy I had for it. But no further vision or plan and then it would go to waste. Such helpful advice, per usual. Just your daily reminder, we love that your back and comin in hot!
Bethany... I commented on your last video and I do it again on this one because your channel is sooooo inspiring to me. Watching you grow on different levels (style, colors, training, or your outlook on life in general) has created a spark in me to feel accomplished myself (wooo. Can I say it that way? I speak french! Sorry if I'm messing up English!) I feel a little bit like you are a mentor! So... thank you for sharing your knowledge, but your learning journey as well. I like to know how people got where they are and being able to explain why they think the way they do. And you explain it very well. (all the thought process behind the advice). Last thing! I would really like to see what glass you chose for the "windows" above your inside doors in your house! A house tour would be fun to watch! (Because your taste in decor is outstanding as well!) ;) Great day to you and your loved ones!
Thank you for all the lovely words of encouragement 💐💐 really means so much! Still working on those windows, but would love to give a house update soon
It’s funny I sometimes feel I’ve swung the opposite way these days in buying things, which I definitely prefer! But the issue is I rarely buy things because the exact fit isn’t perfect, which is just discouraging as it makes me doubt that I’ll ever find what I want exactly lol But it’s better to use this issue I think than the opposite of buying everything haha
The making of lists has been so helpful in being mindful, and avoiding duplication. My biggest regret in clothes buying has been buying a piece because it just looked great by itself, but upon bringing it home, it never "fit" into my wardrobe and I couldn't get it into rotation.
I would say that it is sometimes ok to shop without a plan. Bethany has talked before (in videos and her course) about “hero pieces” that are standout and personally I’ve never planned on buying those pieces. They find you!
Totally! The key is to understand your personal style deeply first. This makes shopping more fun and ends with less regrets. Even on unplanned hero piece purchases.
Bethany, this is a fantastic video - thank you for putting this out in the world. Personal style cannot be bought on sale, it takes time and months of observing your pairing choices and a consious contemplation of what suits your life, work and practical and artistic needs. Sale is only a good time if all the said points have already been ticked off across the several months that precede this 'sale'
Don't feel that way! I would just seek out sneakers in solid colors. Also looking for suede or interesting fabrics can help the shoe look more intentional. There is a brand called Thursday boots. They make a lot of sneakers in different colors. Worth taking a peek. I have a brown suede pair that are really chic!
So glad you will be appearing more on YT again! Great and practical advice. Feet are very important and four inch stilettos may be very pretty art objects but may not translate well to the real world (even for fictional characters like "Monica" on "Friends" and her sexy boots!) Thanks for sharing the power of the List/s! Big fan!!!❤❤❤ 🙏
It’s so nice to see so much of you recently! ❤ also I love how you embrace the brown tones, they really suit you 😊
Thanks lovely! ♥️

We're gonna need a lounge wear/comfy trousers vid to help with our Christmas dinners and our expanding waistlines 😂

Great video Bethany! Thank you for another amazing video. 🙏🏻
So glad you liked it! 💖
What I struggle with is because of a neurological disease I can only wear sneakers… feels like it ruins alot of my outfits 😩
Would love to do a video styling sneakers at some point. Sending you prayers and wishes for your health ♥️
