I just put on a set of the new Toyo R/T Trail’s on my truck and I really like them. And they come with a 45,000 mil warranty too. And so far they handle extremely good in wet weather with zero hydroplaning.
Not sure if I want these next, bfg ko2, or falken wildpeak at3w. 7000 pound denali. I also tow but that's either a boat or couple zero turn mowers. Care mostly about longevity, wet, dry, and snow performance. Has the toyo at3s. Was pretty good. Put 70k miles on them and had 6/32 out of 13/32 seconds. Work in construction and had to plug them several times. Not sure if that's just how it was or if they aren't very puncture resistant. Had some chunk come off the tire and balancing was weird on them. Did phenomenal in snow and wet weather. Handled great. Have the Mickey Thompson Baja boss at now. Was a bitch to balance but since the 3rd time I have had any issues. Have 35k on them and they are at 16/32 out of 18/32 so I'm impressed with how good they are wearing. Disappointed on syping. They get significantly smaller as they wear. Pick up about every rock they can find. Coming out the driveway I throw at least 30 of them. Toyos barely did any. Very heavy. They do look great but with the syping getting significantly smaller they are gonna keep getting worse wet and snow traction. Recon grappler in a 275/55r20 is 120 load index so they'll handle the weight great. I line the sidewall. Curious on snow because it's not 3 peak rated. Love the white lettering on the bfg. Looks great. Is only a 115 load index tho unless I move up to a 285 for a 117 load index at least. Heard about wet weather traction sucking and balancing and longevity and others I hear they are the best and last. Falkens idk if they are overhyped or if they are truly that good. Same situation as the ko2s tho with the load index. Also cost more. Also thought about cooper rugged treks or at3 xlts. Thank you for reading this far and any help is appreciated on your experiences or knowledge
@@Travis-kw3mo You're correct. They wear out quicker because it's made from softer rubber. Which is why KO2 great for colder/snowier conditions. Great tire if you live somewhere up north or in Canada. Nittos last stupid long time but will not perform as well as KO2 in snow. TOYO AT3 is somewhere in the middle between nitto/ko2.I run nittos personally, they will deteriorate first before tread goes low, crazy tire indeed. I've had mine for 3 years they look new.
I live in pa where all it does is rain I have ridge grapplers on my chevy 2500hd and no issues in rain at all actually I'd say totally opposite there great in rain/snow/slush
I have 25k on mine ( recons) they still look new...If you keep them at 40-45 psi and rotate yearly and don't off road/ tow much you can easily get 60k out of them. It looks like they will get old/crack before you lose tread on them to the point of not having traction.
How would did they steer vs ridge grapplers ? Did they have any vibration when accelerating or stopping ? Did they try and follow any cracks in the road ?
Why would anyone talk about the wear on their tires with only a “few hundred miles” on them. That makes absolutely no sense what so ever. Who’s tires are going to show wear with a few hundred miles?
There is such a little difference in ride quality and handling I think the recon grappler would be better for a daily just because they have a 55,000 mile warranty.
Are they quieter than ridge grappler’s? I had ridge grappler’s on my 2022 F150 truck and I had them taken off because I didn’t like the ride with those. I had vibration in my steering wheel and in my brake pedal and gas pedal and they ran a Bit loud.
hey remember when you did that shitty video on cerekote? yeah the one where you didn't do it right and then you said it looked bad? That's stupid video is still up which makes you incredible... and yeah I'll keep reminding you

That wheel is dreamy 🤤🤤😂
Picked the right side on those grapplers 🔥🔥

Stay away from ko 2s. They wear out too fast

How was the noise level? Are the ridge grapplers more quiet than the recon?
How did you end up liking the Recons? Im stuck between them and the Toyo AT3'S
Now that you've had these ties for a year, how do they compare to the Ridge Graplers
Let us know how they perform in the rain, I read a lot of reviews about ridge grapplers hydroplaning and poor traction in wet conditions. Thanks

Well if R.G. Is a mud tyre then it’s not a rain tyre.
Try a AT or hybred
At around 2:50, you said you got "a ton of miles" on the RidgeGrapplers. Can you be more specific????
Why did you switch to these over just getting a new set of Ridges? TIA I’m still on the fence between the Recons and the Ridges.
Very helpful review, thanks!!
How many miles is "phenomenal"?
Same question I had. How many miles is phenomenal?

Just give the tire size and we should get it. Example 285/65/20.

How are they in the snow?
No road noise roaring I had ridge grapplers 12 ply on my old truck I’ve heard the recon was quiet
What PSI are you running?
Any update on the ride and noise?
They are better than grapplers but nothing significant.
Why would anyone talk about the wear on their tires with only a “few hundred miles” on them. That makes absolutely no sense what so ever. Who’s tires are going to show wear with a few hundred miles?
For a daily driver would you recommend these over the ridge grappler?

@@dennissieberg380 and sounds like the recons are quieter also

What air pressure were you running? Ridge Graps feel best at 38-40 PSI. Anything in the low 30's is dogshit sloppy and loud.
@@robertannable9584 I’m not sure what they had.
