When I was a kid, I liked Muhammad Ali because of the way he danced in the ring. As I got older, I still liked his skill but I didn’t care for the man. I didn’t like his bragging and put down of others who were just trying to participate in the same sport. This is how I see Noah Lyles. He’s a great sprinter and I enjoy watching his races. I just don’t like his bragging. It’s obvious that he will be a part of the sport, but I kind of wish he wouldn’t. People are attracted to track and field for the pure joy of seeing men and women move so elegantly across long and short distances in competition with each other. Bragging on oneself isn’t attractive. Putting others down isn’t attractive. It doesn’t grow the sport. I hope Noah Lyles will mature and develop a more humble nature.
