That rectangle thing on top, maybe it's a handle or something
AJHedges thats the charging handle. It puts the bullets from the magazine into the chamber. Thats why the character pulls it back when you empty a whole magazine. It can also be pulled to eject a bullet thats stuck in the chamber and jams the rifle.

@@milojeilic2643 AK47 fires a much larger bullet, therefore it can penetrate more. The Terrorists have a much harder job of pushing therefore the game balances their weapons to be better and cheaper because the CTs have an inherit map advantage. Defending is easier than attacking.
Also it's just a game, gameplay > realism.

I find it odd that in most other games, the FAMAS has a straight magazine, which are 25 rounds, but it usually has 30. In CS, the FAMAS has a curved magazine, which holds 30 rounds, but only has 25

I know I'ma year late to this, but this is true, there are two versions of the FAMAS which are featured in game as well as having been used in real life, the FAMAS F1 is the one with the straight 25 round magazine which was specifically intended to be used by the French in the FAMAS F1, however, the curved magazine is the NATO standard you see in weapons like the AR-15s (M4A1 and such), the G2 version of the FAMAS is the one used in game, and thus it uses the 30 round magazines, it seems like a bizarre oversight, it's been a while since I've played CS:GO so this may be a terrible idea, but I feel like it would be best if the FAMAS was designed around it's real life counterpart, the real-life FAMAS fires in full auto at ~1000 rounds per minute (the G2 often has a faster rate of fire), whereas in game it fires at 666 in automatic and 800 in burst, where it would make more sense to have it so that both fire at 1000 rounds a minute, fire fully automatic for the equivalent of a shotgun and the cost of a magazine going in 2 seconds, or use the burst, with better recoil control and accuracy, but a limit of 3 shots and a delay between each.

I use the Famas specifically for the burst mode. in 1.6 it was a headshot machine.

Remember that the weakness of the Galil, that being you can’t headshot kill an opponent in one shot, might be mitigated by the CTs decisions. If it is a rifle round, and the CTs know that the Ts have the money to buy AKs, they might opt to exclude a helmet. In this scenario, the Galil would perform just as well as the AK in terms of headshot damage.

Don't act like you are fucking god of csgo...What to do with silvers....Its a poor version of awp and purpose it give awper to play with sniper when not have money....Most sniper prefer rifle or Awp instead scout... Scout used to be good in css... . I see globals bought it on force buy round and throw the crap for ak/awp when they get enough money.....If it is too great then people wouldn't throw it like junk....I rarely see globals throw other force buy guns like mac or mp9 for m4/ak/awp they will rather use it as they are still very effective...

I remember when playing CS:CZ with my friends at LAN party back then, I always use FAMAS no matter how much money i have. FAMAS was a monster at close or long range encounters. short range, just use full auto and spray like crazy. long range, use burst mode as the burst mode back then is extremely accurate and will easily get you a headshot. And for galil, I rather think of it as poor man's AK 47.

Even in CS:GO I always use the FAMAS over the Galil. Because the FAMAS felt more accurate for me, I don't know why? I don't like the Galil because it felt so inaccurate and it has a goofy spray, similar to the SG553.
Never understood why CT weapons are both more expensive and worse performance-wise across the board.
And instead of buffing the accuracy of the Galil and Famas and the SMGs to make them more competitively viable, they nerf the UMP, again a move that makes no sense to me. Nerfing stuff seems to be Valve's first response to everything.

I did rudimentary tests of my own and found the AK sound marginally louder than the AWP. In what way is this sensible? Also, how does the variability of distance affect sound drop off? Furthermore, to what extent does the silencer affect the M4 and USP? I feel like this subject is too broad for me to handle alone.

Never could have thought that Galil is better than Famas
I know this is counter intuitive to judge weapons by, but Galil, Famas and M4 all share same caliber IRL, so technically Galil is best option to pick. But in the game the weapons are balanced around their prices so Galil sort of wins out even then.
I used to play with the Galil a lot before I moved on to the AK and it's surprising how good it is tbh. I haven't touched the Galil in the past one year though because I keep buying AKs now but I don't think I heard of any big galil nerfs ?
On the other hand, I always had issues with the Famas. One of it being the smaller clip size.

I remember my Gold Nova times. I only played MP7 or Galil. Once I had a match on D2 (Typical Beginner Map) and I was standing on A Side trying so Spray an enemy on A long. My teammate was standing next to him and I ended up giving my teammate 2 headshots and killing him before the enemy.

I think the Galil has that 3.700 units is because it was supposed to have a scope. And when they removed the scope, they never bothered to adjust the values.

@@nox1633 RPM in this case stands for rounds per minute, which means how many shots the gun can shoot in a minute. A gun with a firerate of 666 RPM can shoot 666 shots per minute (which is about 11 shots per second).

I do use burst mode on famas, its great to hold A ramp on mirage from CT with it on second round. You just aim at the lamp in the ramp :)
It's not bad but there are cheaper alternatives that aren't much worse

"Zooming" or FOV and it's a bug with zooming; you can't because you can't "zoom" that far unless you have cheats and it make things weird, so valve never needed to fix this "issue."

The Galil AR was my first favorite weapon I used. I looked at the price and thought “wow, pretty good stats for $2000, seems effective.” I was right, and for my next 10 or so matches I insta bought the weapon when I could. Loved it. Now I just kinda play whatever, but I gravitate towards the SSG08, AWP, PP Bizon, and R8.
I remember I was playing with a friend and I didn't have enough for an ak so he told me buy a galil (I have never bought a galil in comp and I'm nova 3) I ended up acing with it

no galil isnt better, galill shoots sideways lol thats terrible if you desperately need a kill, with famas maybe try onetaping really quick it has great accuracy you can tap way more quicker than with all other guns, i mean spray with singular bullets, its crazy technique if done correctly, not many know you can fire quickly with famas and still get accuracy, one day i was really surprised when i jokingly increased shooting speed and still was accurate. And you will see professional players dominating with famas like with any popular gun,, when i saw pros many times picking galil , i was thinking wtf now im gonna be impressed i dont know how to kill with galil, and seconds later i start laughing when even pros cant kill with galil, i never saw someone with galil kill more than one player in pro league when with famas happens a lot

If you're new to CS or just not very good, M4's are better since their Spray patterns aren't too difficult, if you have more skill, around the rank of GN, the AK might be better due to it's damage.

UMP is still decent, I often buy a Deagle with my UMP, shoot someone with the deagle once and hide, let him push in and then UMP him.
Melioetta Zyguard if you always buy a deagle with ump you are already missing the point of buying ump, you buy ump because its cheap and does the job of a riffle close/mid range but if you spend 1200$+700=1900$ which is almost as much as Galil/famas
No it's not missing the point.
UMP earns you $600 instead of $300, also does the same damage (in CQC).
You can buy a defuse kit with that deagle+ump set for a total of $2300 which is only $50 more than a famas by itself.
UMP drop off damage has been nerfed, in which case a deagle is better for far range anyway.
Yes, on T side you should just buy the Galil or ump by itself, I do that only on CT side.

the galil is just a ton of fun to use. i love that thing, and i really don't mind downgrading from an AK if it means i can't get a smoke or flash due to money constraints. for me it's usually a galil if i'm on a budget or an sg if i'm not. unless i have a day where i jive well with the AK and not the sg
