Either a descendant of a loyalist, modern day Canadian or a liberty hating Limey!

American history textbooks are very general by design because they have to cover the entirety of American history. So you may only have a few pages detailing the war in the south, but also only a few pages at best detailing any topic. Somebody with a PhD in Midwestern agricultural practices would probably also throw their hands up in frustration that their area of study doesn't have 20 pages in a textbook.

Thanks for an interesting lecture. I'm not American, so I have only a passing understanding of the revolutionary war, and this lecture added a great deal to my understanding of the conflict. Interesting thing about this Tarleton guy...he's one of a long, "proud" tradition of British military professionals who score own goals with their needless brutality. In some perverse way, the colonists benefitted from his behaviour.

He makes some very necessary points, but it's insanity to accept the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence as true. This man is familiar with the material, and should be well aware that it never happened.

True enough. If anything, it taints an otherwise informative but clearly biased presentation.

i remember being told that the south didnt really contribute that much to the revolution .
